    I own 5th gen 2500 with Cummins. I love my truck. I guess Dodge had to put limits on its performance to meet the emission and other regulations, but your new toy unlocks all the potentials. I saw the performance improvements from your smiles.

    Hey Dustin, Great video can't wait to see the towing results. was curious how you've found PPEI tunes over the winter. I'm from Canada so would need cold weather review before pulling any triggers, how are cold starts and what level do you run while roads are icy? a video would be great!

    • @DustinFaddis
      @DustinFaddis  2 года назад +2

      Great question Brett. It was something that I didn’t think about much before I tuned. The truck runs great in the winter I’ve had cold starts down to -45 degrees. I haven’t noticed any difference in cold starting performance. The only “down” side in the winter on icy roads is slow speed or starting out when the roads are icy and bumpy. The throttle is way more touchy and can cause you to break loose. I’ve considered removing the tune for the few weeks that it gets really icy but now I’ve gotten used to it so I’ll be leaving it tuned. It was really just the first handful of times driving when it was icy. It caught me off guard 😆. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching

    Another great video which details the step by step process-thanks!
    I’m curious how many miles are on your 3500, the gear ratio and if your Cummins is the high output?
    My standard output Cummins I best describe as trying to accelerate in my old 4cyl 4wd Tacoma without downshifting.

    • @DustinFaddis
      @DustinFaddis  2 года назад +3

      Thanks Bryan, I have around 35,000 miles on my truck. Probably half of the miles are towing miles. I gave the standard output with 4.10 ratio. The acceleration wasn’t great stock but now it’s impressive. I’m going to test the mileage and acceleration again to make sure the numbers are accurate then I’ll post an updated video on the gains.

    Hello. Just bought a 2022 ram 2500. 6.7 I love this tune. My truck is stock but my question is will this void the warranty if you put tune on??

    • @DustinFaddis
      @DustinFaddis  2 года назад +2

      Good question. There are lots of variables. Say you have the highest horsepower tune. If you’re out racing it all the time and burn up a piston then they will have a good case at denying your warranty. If you have the highest horsepower tune and you have An issue with your a/c then it won’t do anything to your warranty. With that being said. You can remove the tune from the truck before you go in to the dealer. It takes about 3 minutes. You can even leave the tuner hooked up because it also serves as a electronic log and could be used for business. So in short just remove the tune and return to stick before you take it in and it will never be an issue. I’ve been doing that for years with all the major truck manufactures . Ram Ford and gm. That’s my experience anyway. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching

    • @DustinFaddis
      @DustinFaddis  2 года назад +3

      Great question Arthur. I’ve had one major issue since tuning. Up here in Alaska in the winter, the roads stay icy for about 5 months. The throttle becomes very touchy and the slightest bump can cause you to step on the pedal a little more than expected and you can feel it break traction. This really isn’t an issue at all and I’m kind of laughing while typing it but the real answer is no I haven’t had any issues with it at all. I love it and I’m glad I did it. But there is one thing that I noticed it does burn slightly more def fluid but it’s just a little more. I’m waiting for all the ice to melt so I can attempt to get an accurate number.
      I’ll say one more thing about the throttle response. I love it and it makes a huge difference in the way it drives but on a serious note… I have considered temporarily going back to stock for a week or two when the roads get very icy up here. I never actually went back to stock but just considered. I think I’m just used to it now so I changed my driving habits a little. I hope this helps out man. Thanks for watching
