PS5 is one of the ugliest consoles of all time. I was hoping with the Pro, we would get a redesign. We got the same dumb looking system. I guess I will pass on it. The PS4 is still a great system, with tons of great games out for it.

Every shooter game having Gyro-Aim would be super cool. RDR2 was so boring to play on console because the aim was atrociously slow even on the highest sensitivity.

I think there will likely be an xbox collab for the “skyrim” moment since they seem big on being on other consoles atm. Hi fi rush is a game that was rated on switch but has been unseen since it was reported and switch 2’s specs aren’t a huge stretch from a series s. That or horizon zero dawn since it was mentioned in a nintendo survey

I wonder if there'll be a larger/smaller version of the new switch? Like a Switch 2 XL and a Switch 2 Mini? I know that's kind of similar to what the Switch Lite already is, but it'd be nice to get a version that's even more pocket-friendly, even if it comes at the cost of a dip in computing power

My vote for the 3rd party game to sell this console would be Monster Hunter Wilds. It's extremely unlikely granted, but I can't think of any older game today that would fill the niche that Skyrim did where people still find ports of it exciting. Especially with the steam deck being a thing now, any of those older games like RDR2 can just be played handheld that way, it's not novel anymore. But a brand new game? And one that's a sequel to monster hunter rise, literally the best selling third party game on the switch? Now that would be something worth the upgrade I think, if Nintendo and Capcom were able to make it happen.

unless I'm misreading the leak it also looks like it might have a built in Ethernet port which would be pretty cool for online stuff

i hope the extra port is for expansion accessories like the port on the back of an N64 controller. i 100% unironically love plugging little gadgets into my game consoles to get gameplay gimmicks that are only used in like 2 games

it wouldnt surprise me if the new usbc port was a combo charging/headphone port with how much more common usbc headphones have become with most high end phones removing heaphone ports.

disappoined that the new switch is likely going to be bigger, i really want it to stay the same size or even go down but oh well... might have to wait for the lite model and hope it is good

I feel like if Nintendo wants to do dual screens that it'd be easier to try a reverse Wii U situation where the console streams video wirelessly to the dock, which outputs to the TV. Assuming they used the same tech as the Wii U, the latency should be very manageable.

I believe it’s fake simply because it looks just like a Switch OLED but bigger. Waiting more than seven years to release a “Switch 2” that isn’t even ergonomically better than the OG Switch makes no sense. If anything , both consoles looking identical will confuse general audiences much more than calling it “Super Switch”.

Considering these specs, Switch 2 will be closer in power to PS5 than PS4. Current-gen ports would be relatively easy, way easier than porting PS4-era games to the current Switch.

I mean PS4 ports are cool and all but this is going to be just like the switch for me. As someone who owned an Xbox 360 and wii u....the switch wasn't very impressive to me because I had already played most of the big games on the switch!

I think the top usb would be cool for dual screen use possibly. Maybe they will make a monitor add on, and add ds games to the library.

it's too realistic of a spec sheet for it to be made up. That switch rumor that was oval, was based on a patent with sharp display technology. They didn't make use in PC systems, but in car systems. When we recieve cad files that have been confirmed, this is the "fire" not the smoke. this Switch 2 is fixing about 80% of the compaints about switch 1. the USB-C at the top is easier charging and can also probably be used as a USB-c and its functions. The dual screen won't happen, it would require the top hatch to be oled, and to make both screens oled. would make it need to cost closer to 500 dollars. What would be cool to see is xbox gamepass on the system. and other streaming services on the system. if it's only one microphone, it's more likely a game mic for mechanics. For modern voice chat and being pleasant to use, you need 2 or more for beam forming noise cancelation, or AI noise cancelation.

I think it's important to note that while the irl pictures are real, the CAD renders are not, they're just based on the leaked photos. Also specs are not coming from this leak, someone just put them in with the photos, we knew about these specs since may. I say all this because people try to disprove the leak as a whole because the person who made the renders is just sone random 3D enthusiast and specs are old. They're not part of the leak, photos are.

fingers crossed the double USB-c ports is to support a dual screen set up and the entire Switch 2 library is nintendo 3/DS ports

i'm not too worried about the storage space in it, the switch one supported up to 2TB SD cards, i would be shocked if the switch 2 doesn't support bigger cards

I’m excited to stop speculating about this thing and finally see it. Seeing this leak made me realize that I’m really much much more interested in seeing software and OS than I am the hardware so being on that reveal trailer and then big hour-long presentation we’re gonna have to wait until January or February for!!

Also...i have this strange feeling the "Skyrim game" for Switch 2 is a Fromsoftware game. Maybe Elden Ring? Maybe a Bloodborne port? That just popped into my head, thinking about it.

I feel like Nintendo's logic about making it bigger is "If people want it smaller, theyll buy our new Switch 2 Lite. If people want it more comfortable, theyll buy new Hori controllers." For me, all my hopes and dreams lie in the firmware, or whatever the term is for the menus. If I were Nintendo, i'd be trying to differentiate this gen from the Switch gen by trying to pack a lot of personality, features, and customization into the firmware like how 3DS and Wii U had. A revamp of all of that plus the eShop is probably my biggest wishlist items. I also think the new "gimmick" could just be something in the firmware instead of hardware, almost like Streetpass.

If true, I'm pretty happy with it. I love the Switch as it is, as a piece of tech. Quite literally JUST making it bigger and more powerful is really all I need. I do get some people's disappointment though. Pre-Switch/Iwata era Nintendo loved going all out and weird and different with their tech, which both worked and didn't. But honestly I don't think this is bad either. The Switch struck a cord with people and this continues the momentum by embracing the brand. (And doing it alot better than the "Wii U" 😅)

If Sony does announce Zero Dawn remastered, that might push some PlayStation gamers over the edge.
