The idea of body haptics is fascinating, mostly because so much of the gaming industry is built around what would be some of the most unpleasant sensations imaginable. I'm wracking my brain for games where I feel it would improve the player experience at all, I've only come up with Animal Crossing letting you feel rain and wind or something
Great point! So many of the verbs we use in games are focused on violence, win / loss states on losing health and death - all things I don't want to spend $550 to experience.
I would almost be curious about something hypothetically like this, but there's no way developers are including data in their games about where on the body to trigger the haptics. Like, the HD Rumble type of stuff I think is generated via audio waveforms? So HD Rumble has it easy. But there's no way for something like this that the game would "know" what parts of the haptic suit to tell to activate to get the exact accurate location of the sensations. And I can't imagine developers putting the effort in to include all that data?
heres the thing vr is already very immersive and has other realities you can visit, and its called VRchat. i have made so many friends and visited their worlds and this would be AMAIZING for hugs, and out of this world experiences. unfortunately corporations like Ubisoft dont understand the actual possibilities of this tech and just wanna make the experience of being shot for some reason
This reminds me of the subwoofer that I got from Bethesda when they were redoing their store… it was called Subpak, and it straps to the back of your chair or you can maybe strap it to your back? I believe it’s supposed to be used with headphones for you to “feel the game”… it’s in a box somewhere and seeing this makes me want to go dig that out. It worked well, it was just a bit of a pain to get set up. I’d consider this owo product if it wasn’t $550, for that I’d rather the PSVR2

its called dualsense because you hold it with two hands. n64 controller actually was triplesense

I very much was not expecting to hear a pendragon reference in 2023 but damn yeah on point, this is some Aja Killian nonsense
