Very excited that you're making this show. I like hearing your perspective on games news, especially because I am not on social media websites, so it also helps me get some insight into stuff i wouldn't hear about otherwise. I also love that there's a video component; it's helpful to be able to see clips from the trailers n stuff for an event like this since I have an awful memory hahah
Makes sense! Easing people into the story through someone else’s eyes is a good setup, but it would be a bummer if you never ended up playing as Alan again later.
The Metal Gear Solid remake and re-release of what supposedly is the HD-collection is a very interesting thing just in terms of "video game culture". On one hand I fully agree that it's good to have the old games available on new hardware, but it comes with an incredible amount of baggage. There is the entire thing about how Konami split with Kojima, how they scrubbed his and the studio's names entirely off the product while further marketing the franchise, which leads to another thing about media companies working more and more towards trying to not credit the people involved in making a piece of entertainment. There's also just Konami's last... 10? years in game publishing, which was handled in a way that didn't sit well with many gamers, capital G and lower case g. It's, to a degree, surprising they even HAD this announcement to be made. Especially, the fact that one person does not indeed make an entire game series like MGS aside, the levels of fan affection towards Kojima as the creative mind at the center of the MGS franchise adds an additional amplification to the emotional compinent of the situation.. All this makes it enticing to view those releases as an opportunity to "pick a side", for a group of people that'd be a decision to support game conservation by porting forward, for others it's picking a side in Kojima vs Konami. Getting those on the same page in **ONLINE DISCOURSE** seems like a very tough thing to achieve.
It was decent. There were lots of games I was excited about. Alan Wake 2, Spiderman, The Plucky Squire and Teardown all interest me for sure. As well as the MGS trilogy and remake. However when it comes to Sony's first party showing, It wasn't great. Very little gameplay from most of the things shown (excluding Spiderman) was disappointing. No developers talking about their games was a shame. Fairgame could be interesting but there really isn't much to go on. Gran Turismo film trailer was weird... I'm hoping that during SGF we'll see some Wolverine, Factions and some other first party stuff.
What did you think of the event? If you had to give it a letter grade, what would it be?
b-, dd2 is as great as the new "handheld" is disappointing.
Yea B for sure. MGS feels weird along with a few others i not personally interested in. Happy for those who are though
it was good, i think about the same thing you said about people seeing the state of playstation rn and generated fake expectations about the showcase.
Amazing rundown. Wavelengths is such a good show! Happy you get to have a little break but excited you’ll still be recording these during that time.

So glad you like it, thanks for tuning in!!
Great video bro hope work like this pay up in the future
Good shit as usual. It has been confirmed that you play as both Alan Wake and the FBI agent.
They attack in hordes Arisen!!
