Hey, thank you so much for discussing this topic! I just upgraded my a7iii to a a7rv to have more MP (because I shoot animals and crop A LOT). But I wasn't aware I have to use compressed raw to have 10 pics/sec and I am very worried now if this camera was the right decision. 🥲

@dannybligh I'm concerned with the buckles. The two prongs are EXTREMELY thin! Especially when spending $180. How have the buckles held up?

I have the 1/8 one. If I need to make an image softer I can reduce the clarity on LR. and the lights will already be bloomed. Whereas I can't do the reverse with the 1/4 which is why I went with the subtle.

When I take a photo with my Sony a7riv and then take the exact same image with an a7iv, same lens, I can see a lot more detail with 61 mp. If you like detail and sharpness the higher megapixel cameras do make a difference. Especially with no AA filter…

Danny is there away to make the A7R5 remember your last settings in photo and video. On my Nikon's I could shoot in photo switch to video then switch back to photo and my last settings were as I last had them. But on my A7R5 I have to adjust my settings back again

I think a7iv is a better pick, to me it has a better dynamic when it comes to video, 33mp is a nice spot to be for hybrid shooting, and is $1k cheaper u can buy a len, or a gimbal..... a7rv is too hyped, 8k that doesnt really work, 61mp...

I'm looking for a DJI drone to get aerial photos while I'm out camping. I've read that other drones from DJI would be a bit better for this, but I would also like to just cruise around having fun in the FPV goggles. I'm by no means a photographer, not even a hobbiest. I just want something to get some decent/nice photos of gorges, forests, mountains, etc. Is the Avata 2 the best drone for this?

I'm considering teleconverters at the moment and have been watching videos about them. I recall a comment about the magnified camera shake and as well as losing stops of light for the length of the extended lens also losing stops of light in shutter speed. So raise the shutter speed or put your gear on a tripod. Looking forward to testing the theory. 😅

Is there a way to compress an uncompressed file when importing?

The two I almost always use are the 24-70 2.8 & 70-200 2.8. I've contemplated 35mm but have never tried it!

I’m really stuck between this lens and the sigma 150-600 for wildlife. Tamron way more compact, but the sigma has that extra 100mm reach. Do you think the 100mm is significant? I have an A7R series camera, so I almost feel like cropping with the MP will be adequate. Cheers

Tell me something... why are you afraid of getting stuff in the USB? ... your phone has a port as well and that goes into sand, water, dirt etc... the EASIEST thing to make WR is a USB port as it's an external port (even if it "goes into" the body)

I would be too afraid to buy DJI now that the government might ban them. My existing DJI is amazing but they might disable drones people already own.

Oh yes you can test the range of the A2 just strap it to a car and drive it off until you loose signal that way theres no breaking the law as you say....

Hey Danny, do you use throttle with the left stick or right?

Coordinating left and right sticks for turns seem to be a direct comparison to flying an rc plane with turns using both ailerons and rudder.Using rudder only(left stick) on a plane spins the rear-end in that direction,using the aileron (right stick)as well as the rudder banks the aircraft in a smooth turn... (?)

less blades = less stability at low speed but higher top end speed. morre blades = less max speed more stability at low speed also less noise

I would like you to try M43 like OM-1 in the same environment, and ISO area. You think it's worth it? I own A7-IV but also REALLY think about changing the gear for the sport photography. I am happy of my images, but Sony cameras has no soul like. I feel like Sony gives you anything you want, good autofocus, decent ergonomics, hybrid stuff (video/photo), 3rd party lenses, high amount of megapixels, fine colour science (maybe not the top..), quite cheap, but... I feel like OM-1, Fuji or maybe Nikon (at last place of these three) have more "soul" that would take you out with camera outside, than Sony one.. Like, Sony has nothing else to offer than good electronics.. :/ Would be nice to hear your opinion about smaller sensors. And see what you can get from that one! :)

Actually what I was more curious about than resolution, was if the A7Siii had smoother color transitions. Similar to the idea of the 'medium format look' does a low res full frame senor have better color roll off because of the larger micron size.

Nice Video, I’ll have to say you don’t need a GoPro with the avata 1, the image quality is pretty good, Not better than the avata 2 of course but not bad enough that you definitely need an action camera. Also the Avata 2 is more fragile when it comes to crashes. I would say after having both that I regret getting the 2 because I thought that it was going to be a huge upgrade and is not. But if I didn’t have the Avata 1 for sure I would go with the Avata 2, the googles from the Avata 2 are much better than any other older versions. 🤙🏽🤙🏽

lot easier though to find these than a fpv homebuilt carbon jobbie and much safer to fly long distance, use a spotter!. Also you have find my drone if you connect phone to goggles and use app sometimes you cant hear the esc's if its a way away...
