Nice Video, I’ll have to say you don’t need a GoPro with the avata 1, the image quality is pretty good, Not better than the avata 2 of course but not bad enough that you definitely need an action camera. Also the Avata 2 is more fragile when it comes to crashes. I would say after having both that I regret getting the 2 because I thought that it was going to be a huge upgrade and is not. But if I didn’t have the Avata 1 for sure I would go with the Avata 2, the googles from the Avata 2 are much better than any other older versions. 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Any updates 3 months later ? I’m in a similar situation, I have avata1 and I’m contemplating getting avata 2. My biggest issue with the original one is actually the limited rated not the camera quality. I know it’s not great but I’m not shooting professional videos anyway. However range affects me a lot especially when I do a 360 around something of interest and I get behind it.
Ive got the goggles integra and can fly the avata , the fpv drone, the avata 2 so thats better than having the goggles 3 ! I just have to bind TX to which drone and also switch in goggles, why change...
Ive got both and Ill tell you the range isn't bad on the Avata and it has more punch but irange better still on Avata 2 even with obstacles its better, battery life better and quieter but structural wise its weaker, I fly in quiet rural places where I see no one all day
Avata 2 doesn’t have D Log, but D Log M. D Log M in the photograph and videographer community is often called just a fancy name of D-Cinelike. Therefore it’s not close to D Log, but rather a tiny small upgrade from D-Cinelike being lightly flatter. However you barely see the difference between D log m and d cinelike. You can search up comparisons if you want. DJI kind of lied to us not telling the difference between d log m and d log.
yes for £340 off Ebay upgrade to Avata 2 especially if you already have goggles2/integra and TX 2, you cant buy the camera with postage for that! 30 mins battery which you'll never get with fpv racers, good camera no need for Gopro's etc
Great video! I’ve got the V2 goggles unfortunately and the remote controller 2. What did you mean by the black market? Is there a way to fly it with the V2?
Good video! I've had the Avata since May 2023. Almost got the Avata 2 but changed my mind. I've got some incredible videos and flights with my Avata. No reason to change..YET! Now if DJI comes out with a new long range FPV drone?????
Oh yes you can test the range of the A2 just strap it to a car and drive it off until you loose signal that way theres no breaking the law as you say....
I’m guessing you’re on about the restrictions in the UK? Yeah, you do know the orientation. But unless you (or your spotter) can see it’s orientation with their own eyes then it’s illegal flying 🤷🏻♂️ with a DJI mini it’s still 120m but if you can’t see it’s orientation unaided after 60m for example, then that’s too far 😂🤷🏻♂️
lot easier though to find these than a fpv homebuilt carbon jobbie and much safer to fly long distance, use a spotter!. Also you have find my drone if you connect phone to goggles and use app sometimes you cant hear the esc's if its a way away...

Yeahhhh, things may change then but for us in the UK, that’s pointless as it’s against regulations 😪 thanks for watching!
@@DannyBlighdamn that sucks you can't even fly in uk now?
@@VincentOrtegaJr you can but only within 120m radius of yourself 🤷🏻♂️
@@DannyBligh ouch

I’d probably get a mini3/4 or air if im honest
Wow 120m 660ft roughly. But FPV you always know its orientation no?
