A7rV is awesome! The flip screen is the best the only thing is large file sizes and line skipped 4k video. Overall I’d pick the Sony a7IV the Uncompressed RAW from the a7iv has 15+ stops dynamic range you get super blue skies and super fine details in feathers of birds also 61mp vs 33mp is not a big difference when cropping in.

Well, I have the both, and I love them equally. A7R V is a beast and I don't want to use it all the time since I think 61 Megapixels are too much for a random photo session that I do for work, in the meantime I'm using A7 IV a bit more since 33 Megapixels seems the right amount for regular photo sessions, and I use it for videos, also it's less noisy for videos than A7R V. :)

If you can afford the camera, the storage and the computer required to edit this monster images, there is really no competition. A7Rv is the master of all.
I cant. Currently running an A7Rii, and at just 42.2 Mpxl it already eats up my storage like crazy and my computer struggles.
Saving up now to upgrade to the A7iv. I will miss the 42.2 mpxls, but I really need/want the better AF (especially the bird AF) of the A7iv and better video 10-bit S-cinetone.
But the A7RV is the ultimate dream tbh.

  • @Eikenhorst
    @Eikenhorst 10 месяцев назад +2

From a pure 100% photography only perspective, I am not sure if the A7R5 is worth the double the price of the A74 (4500 vs 2250 euro). I love the 61MP but would always keep it on LosslessCompressed M to get a 26MB file, which means I can use the APS-C crop mode and retain the same 26MP size. The screen is cool too and the EFV has amazing magnification.
However, there is nothing in the A74 that isn't way more than good enough for all my uses.

A única coisa que na minha opinião justifica comprar a A7RIV ou a A7IV é a quantidade absurda de pontos de focagem, extremamente útil para quem faz retratos. I think I'm lucky to find the A7Rv at 1155 Omani Rials ($3,003 USD) and the A7iv at 805 OMR ($2,093) all brand new + warranty. Was considering buying either 1x A7Rv or 2x A7iv along with my A7SIII. The margin now becomes small so for a 1 camera I would definitely go for the A7Rv as it's something that will last for years to come as a high-end photography camera and a good videography as a B-Cam, especially in 8K to have various angles within one shot as you can use up to %400 (native 1080p) on a 4K timeline and still look pretty good. As for 4K@24fps it has 15ms rolling shutter which is decent.
So making room for a future A9III or A1 II 3rd cam = Jack of all trades camera (A1 II / A9 III "the most perfect camera in the world"), low light beast (A7SIII), photography monster (A7Rv). Might sell the A7Rv if I get the A1 II though and probably downgrade to a second hand A7iv. On weddings I would need at least 2 cameras, 1 for video and the other for photos. Having a 3rd one would be more like for "finesse" with unique angles and capturing emotions instead of just recording the event in general. But I'm a wildlife and documentary filmmaker mainly, which currently is only a money drain so I have to compensate with other profitable ventures.
You provide top quality videos, subbed!

Can't go wrong with the A7iv in my opinion. Fantastic camera, great photos and video and would do you for a very long time. Only downside is the cost of the camera and the lenses due to it being full frame. Perhaps pick one up used.
If you'd sooner keep the cost smaller, the A7Cii would be great but still full frame so your lenses would be expensive still. Or, go for something like the A6700. The lenses for an super35 / APS-C sensor is much cheaper but for me, doesn't handle great at larger ISOs which is what you may need for sport. I guess you get what you pay for.
All of these cameras today have internal stabilisation and if you went for a long lens like a 70-200 (which is perfect for sport) you'd have stabilisation in the lens also. Hope that helps!

Hey! I can't recall whether I've ever tested the camera in 60fps (or it would be 50 in the UK) for a long period of time. I wouldn't ever use it normally unless it's to slow down in post, which I would probably only do bursts of recording, maybe 30 seconds most.
However, I remember getting the A7iv on hire a year and a half ago and having problems with it overheating. In fact, it kept overheating as I was making a video about it. But, the one we have in the business (the camera featured in this video) has never overheated on me. I've used it for videos on this channel, filming for 45+ minutes in the office, we use it weekly for weddings when filming ceremonies and sometimes speeches and It has never been a problem. 2 things I recommend to anybody using a Sony camera; 1) make sure the temp setting is set to High (like you already have). 2) keep the screen flipped open when filming anything.
It's also very dependant on where you are in the world to, not sure where you are but the UK is cold 364 days of the year ;)
I hope this helps, I hope you get it sorted!

      @@dexteroiioreally?! That’s interesting that you think that. I actually think it’s better but I won’t say you’re wrong 😂
Here’s my take (this was going in the video but didn’t make the cut!)
Every time i’ve exported my photos for weddings I always feel like the a7rv looks better in the high iso ranges. Now we’re talking 6400-12800 at most! But, i think part if that is down to the images being viewed/printed at the same size therefore the noise is technically smaller and less noticeable.
But really interesting you think it🙌🏻 i love reading peoples thoughts

@@dexteroiioand then in terms of dynamic range, i’ve never found one to give me that much better results than the other however i’ve never done any side by side tests, it’s just from general usage

@@DannyBlighthere are a lot of test here on yt that compare the high ISO performance and all this test show how the a7iv is better in low light performance. But we are talking about nothing. Pixel peeping. I think that are both great camera, I don’t understand who says that the a7iv is obsolete 🤯. The a7rV cost double and obviously offers more! IHO

it's a shame in 2023-24 to say that the A7IV is good for networks and if you are a serious photographer you need the A7R...

Why do you use the word "Mark"? I don't see that in the name of the cameras. Just say A7RV and A7IV. No need to say mark.

I think people say it because of Canon

Yeah it's not in the name technically. But when using roman numerals it's common to say "mark" before the numerals. M or Mk is the placeholder.
He probably just misspoke. But I'm also at the beginning of the video.

It is the EASIEST comparison. Study all the features of the A7R5 and you will be blown away. I had the A74 and it was just OK. It's old, it's running old chips. Even the a6700 (which I own) outclasses the A74. As I said, what the A7R5 and the A7CR can do blows the A74 out of the water. Today, I would not recommend the A74 due the fact one day the A75 will come out, maybe. I don't really see much reason for it. Again, what the A7R5 can do makes the A74 obsolete. It had its day. It was the greatest thing back then, but progress is passing it by like A7R5 rendered the A7R4 obsolete. Damn, my A7R3 better not hear me saying that.
