What is the best/excellent aperture for landscape photography for this lens? Some say f5.6 / f.8 and f11? What do you use most often and which gives the best results?
I have the 70-180 G2 and it has the same issue tracking subjects moving towards the camera. Image quality is superb, the colors it renders are great, VC works great for video so all considered its a small prices to pay for roughly $1600 in savings compared to the 70-200 GM II. I am about to pick up the Tamron 28-75 G2 on sale for $699. At that prices any sacrifices I am making compared to other Sony lenses are marginal.
Do you find the video AF performance on moving subjects to be great? I hated the af performance on moving subjects in the 70-180 version 1. Would miss alot of shots on my a9 but video performance was fine
Didn’t really notice it to be a problem for video however didn’t really have a situation to properly test it 🤷🏻♂️ sorry. In terms of video generally speaking I didn’t find any issues. Performed really well
The Sony 24-70gmii is completely worth it! Super sharp also has this tight smooth feature that makes zooming look like power zooming when shooting video. So far the IQ Alone size and weight is worth it.
I've been debating getting one but also always have the 20-40F2.8 and the 35-150f2.8. This seems like a great everyday wall around travel zoom but not sure I want/need the overlap
It’s a tough one. I loved this lens for the size, i’m still in shock how they’ve been able to make it that small! But the 35-150 certainly has ‘more uses’. But it’s big, it’s heavy and i probably wouldn’t have enjoyed the experience in London anywhere near as much. If you have ever thought “this is way too big” then you have your answer 🤷🏻♂️ I do love the 35-150 though 🤌🏻
@@DannyBligh ohh I don't plane on getting rid of the 35-150. I'll keep it if I get the 28-70. I think it's more of a can the 20-40 do enough for me as a daily carry and it's something I can't decide. I've gotten some great shots with the 20-40 but it's also a lens that leaves me wanting more
@@selishots i have the 20-40 and the 28-75, touched the 35-150 but i feel it is too heavy on my daily carry. 28-75 and a7iv (with cage) was in my backpack for almost everyday last year, it is a little big and heavy compared to 20-40 with a7cii. I do miss that 75 reach, but now discovered the crop mode. Now with dual body i am dreaming to get a 35 150 or 85 (higher chance) to shot some events with my 20 40.
The lens you didn't expect to love then me the handsome I didn't expect to love. 🤭🥰😍🤣🤣🤣 Lol! Pls tell me you have wife or girlfriend so that I can stop! 🤣🤣 Definitely lovely perfect photography in London. So admired!
Tamron is trash. Over price hyped up lens. I had both Tamron's, 28-75 & 28-200mm. The Tanron 28-75mm is a bit better than the Sony kit 28-70mm, but not $800.00 dollars worth. The best budget one lens does all, plus it's a Sony is the Sony FE 24-105mm f4 OSS. Plus you get OSS. And you can get them used for about $600.00 (why buy new?). Plus, it's a Sony native lens. F4 is fine with these new camera now days. I don't know of many ppl that go around shooting in the dark... ppl need to stop wasting their money on these unless HYPED up products.
Cracking honest review as always looks like a great little package and the shots in London are sweet nice one Danny and Thank you 👍🏻
Thanks for watching Hieth!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
@@DannyBligh thanks for sharing Danny wish I could get 3rd party lens for the Canon R3 and R6 mkii

For any lens (minus long super telephoto), i’d always say around f8 is pretty solid
Damn for a second I thought Zelensky took up photography.... wishful thinking!
😂😂 i’ve never heard that one before

Agree. This lens is very good for the price
Great review! Do you know if it works with (Panasonic)Lumix G80/85 by any chance?
Is the Sigma 28~70mm better? Smaller and lighter with comparable IQ?
Excellent video 😊!

Oh absolutely, no doubt in my mind with the 24-70gmii 🙌🏻
Is it internal zoom
It is not

Dude … your PHONE has a usb port … it’s the easiest port to weatherseal from the inside…. Why are you even mentioning it 😂😂😂
$699 USD today is a steal.

Seems that you can buy a usb-c rubber plug with a sticker to keep it on.
You sure can, just a shame it isn’t something that is included 🤷🏻♂️
@@DannyBligh Yup. Especially with a port that doesn't need to be that accessible.

Could you elaborate a little bit more? Why do you dislike Tamron lenses so much?
Yapping too much
I have owned both Sony gm, and tamron lenses, and the tamron zooms are absolutely outstanding.
