I’ve got both the 3 blade and 4 blade propellers and the 3 blades definitely give it more punch. I’ve also found that the 3 blades give a bit more flight time, but that’s not hammering it, but just cruising around.
Great video! I tried the Avata Master Airscrew props, both three and four blade. Sure they are more responsive, but they are stupid expensive, extremely fragile and all the sets that I purchased broke after minor crashes. I have now settled on using Gemfan 2925 props, which are about three DB quieter, less expensive, more durable and just as responsive as the MA props.
This exact thing translates to boat propellers in the water! I too, settled with a 3 blade. Also, you should try a toroidal propeller and put it on your channel. That design might give you more power and smoother as well.
Great video thanks! I like the information about the battery runtime. I know you said the performance was improved but what about the speed difference between all three blades or is that your next Video😊??
It's really funny that this video just came up in my RUclips feed because today I changed the stock props to the MAS 4 blade ones. It is also funny because I noted that blades of one of the props touch the prop guard haha and I too assumed that with time it will resolve on its own! So, now I'm desperate to go and fly this little bird.
I swapped to the AxisFlying 3.5 kit and it’s amazing. Did a review on my channel if interested. Ran master air screw props on DJI FPV drone and had a prop failure 100 feet in the air. Broke so many parts on the drone when it crashed. Never run their props ever again!
Yeah but i’ll be honest, i barely use an action camera. Hate how the Avata flies with a camera on top of it, imagine a boat in a storm 😂 the onboard camera is fine for most of the things I use the avata for
Do you film using avata camera or external camera like go-pro? Because you clearly have an external camera holder on top, but doesn't the external weight drastically reduces controlability and battery life?
I’ve been using the internal camera. I’ve used a gopro, an action 2 and action 4 and hated the feeling of it. I haven’t tried them on new propellers but on stock propellers it felt awful, so top heavy. The camera holder has been there for months and just haven’t considered taking it off. Thankfully there’s no difference with that in without a camera
I installed the Master Air Screws and they seemed flimsy, they weren't hugely better w performance but better so was planning to stay with them. Then catastrophic failure of all 4 props at high altitude and it fell like a brick into shallow water, I found tiny hunks of prop away from crash site. One blade was quite twisted but still attached, the rest all twisted right off. Because they were colored they left stains on the inside of the guards. So I tried scrubbing a lot to get evidence erased re warranty, but that was impossible. But they didn't question me on that, just replaced it. If you try these aftermarket screws, do not fly over open water!
I love the avata but my only concern is the open portion on the motors. It’s extremely loud, I mean you can hear this little thing two good city blocks away! Lol
lol before I got it, I heard alot about the noise. And yeah they were not lying lol!! But I’m not trying to do any under cover black ops so I think it’s a good fit lol
nice vid man! i seem to notice the 4 blade feels more loosey goosey not super smooth content and the 3 blade is just a little more stable with maybe a tiny bit more power... i do like both. i have my 3 blades on for tighter spots.. curious about your rates on your avata?.. i'm still trying to find the right rates....
Yeah, the 4 definitely feel loose. More dialled in that the original ones but 3 are a huge power increase. Rates - Off the top of my head, the sensitivity is super low, I want it to feel gooey round the middle but the max rate (if it's called that on DJI) is like 720. The yaw is completely different though, I always feel the Yaw has to be much slower than the roll and tilt
It’s so hard to show in camera as a lot of it is down to feel. Obviously, if you need more ‘umph’ you fingers will naturally give it more. But genuinely, i’d buy a set and see how you get on mate. What you see in this video is my initial reaction and i couldn’t believe it 😂 when I built fpv drones and changed props I never felt a huge difference. Always flew the HQ 5x4x3 (i think?) and loved them. Changed pitch a few times and meh, nothing. But these for the Avata feel so good 🙌🏻😂 Try it, see how you get on
Worst mistake i made was using. Master Airscrew on the DJI FPV drone. Prop snapped exactly like yours did and as you know the FPV drone doesnt do well in crashes. Wouldnt put them on anything now.
Has anybody flown these props in 12+ mph wind? Curious to know how the drone performs. The original props don't inspire confidence at all in manual mode if it"s 18+ mph.
There’s been reports a while ago saying that the Avata would crash if you turned fast. However this has never happened to me. I don’t doubt it’s true however I can only say what has happened to me 🤷🏻♂️
I used the Master Airscrew props on the DJI FPV drone, but found them to be poorly made and very fragile. I have avoided Master Airscrew ever since… it’s interesting to see how much they improved feel on the Avata
Yeah, a few people have said similar about the props for the DJI FPV. Not sure why one would be more fragile that the other so really interesting to hear that. I can't comment on the situation as I've never flown them on the DJI FPV or flown that drone in general. But I was genuinely blown away by the feel though - still am! I use to fly HQ props back in the day and turns out they make Avata props too... sooooo, might give them ago. They were awesome on the Chameleon years ago
LOL that crash shouldn't have broken props. They must either really protrude or be very fragile. I've bent a few props, but I don't think I've ever had any break off like that.
Great video! Was looking to make my Avata a little better! You look a little bit like Ukraine president , Zelenskyy?😂 Or he looks like you ( depends who’s older ) I think you get that a lot 😂😂😂
these props in theory would be good, but the material is terrible. You will A) break the props on motor start, or B) any kind of impact at all and they explode. Exceedingly fragile
@@bulufish8208 I build my own quads, for less than half the price and just as good if not better. Dont know why people buy into Hype of companies like DJI and Apple.
I use to build my own too, definitely my preferred option. Flew them for a very long time. There’s huge benefits of building your own, i’ve spoken about it numerous times in other videos. However, DJI have made FPV very accessible to a wider market. When you build them you have to understand a wide variety of things especially when it comes to trouble shooting problems which I’ve had with the components. DJI take care of them problems however at a price. But i’d like to think that learning the skills of FPV with a drone from DJI encourages them to then build their own later down the line. At that point they can enjoy the whole experience even more just like you do at the moment and I did when I was building my own
Exactly what @dannybligh said.. I wanna build my own drone but it’s a lot of things to learn and a lot of troubleshooting.. I got Dji so I could start immediately while I’m learning
I’ve got both the 3 blade and 4 blade propellers and the 3 blades definitely give it more punch. I’ve also found that the 3 blades give a bit more flight time, but that’s not hammering it, but just cruising around.
I’ve thought about upgrading my props. This is really helping. Great video. Good info on the battery life.
Try it!! See how you get on with it 🙌🏻

Are they just as responsive even though they have 5 blades? Or did I find the wrong ones

Not got a speed test planned but one day perhaps. I’d say the 3 blades ‘felt’ faster but not by much. Hope that helps
It did thanks.
just ordered the 4 blade props..i also fly the avata exclusively so im pumped to give this a try!
Enjoy mate!! Hope you find them as enjoyable as I am at the moment 🙌🏻

few spins mate and they fit ;) ha! Enjoy!
Do these fit the Avata 2 model?
great information - bought them already. Thanks
Enjoy!
tengo las de 4 y van muy bien . Tienes la tranquilidad que no van a explotar en vuelo como las originales

Need to try this. The Avata has found itself on the backburner for me because of my confidence with the drone. Maybe it will change
Lack of confidence?
Can you please please please share your avata rates and gimbal angle pitch PLEASE🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Don’t worry, it’s all coming! This is been highly requested so leave it with me 🙌🏻
Don't let e beg you. Share your rates please!

Got the 3 and 4-blade props. 3 blade is great. The 4 blade props don't seem to do much better than the stock AVATA props.
Hi Great video, I saw you having a dji action mount on top of your avata, does it work for fpv footage ?
Yeah but i’ll be honest, i barely use an action camera. Hate how the Avata flies with a camera on top of it, imagine a boat in a storm 😂 the onboard camera is fine for most of the things I use the avata for
I also made my own throttles for the controller. Made longer ones haha. Makes it easy to fly
Certainly does! I had longer sticks on my Taranis years ago, definitely made things less twitchy 🙌🏻😂
If you can share the rate for four blade and three blade propellers,it ill help to implement.
Because i tried yaw spin in avata ,but avata tumble
Check out the latest video on the channel, all the rates are there

less blades = less stability at low speed but higher top end speed. morre blades = less max speed more stability at low speed also less noise

First of all, original blades are shuttering mid air.. I made the upgrade and now im a happy man
I love the avata but my only concern is the open portion on the motors. It’s extremely loud, I mean you can hear this little thing two good city blocks away! Lol
This things quiet compared to larger fpv drones 👀 haha

did you study the video recordings, and vibration concerns
mmm
4:32 "confidence flying..." 😅😅😅
What rates do you use on your RC? :)
No idea off the top of my head. I know it’s about 450 max rate on the yaw and 720 on the roll and tilt
What are the rates you are using?
Off the top of my head, i’d say about 800 on the tilt and roll, 400 on the yaw

I’ll have to see what they are set at and do a vid 🙌🏻

Worst mistake i made was using. Master Airscrew on the DJI FPV drone. Prop snapped exactly like yours did and as you know the FPV drone doesnt do well in crashes. Wouldnt put them on anything now.
So did it just snap mid air? 🥴
Funny, because the oem dji props are more brittle and snap mid flight. These won’t break mid flight.

The MA Props do feel better but they are fragile. One crash and they’re toast.

18€ per set, if they break with the first crash, is not cheap at all.
