I went from 13 minutes of slow bando flying to 17 minutes with the 4 blade MAS!! And even the noise pitch of the MAS are far less annoying. Totally worth it.
Thanks for this helpful info! I have the 4-blade props ready to put on my Avata. Can you recommend an electric screwdriver to remove those tiny screws?
More blades are always going to be higher pitched, louder, and usually more inefficient due to their weight and rotating mass. The tradeoff of going to less blades is usually a quieter, lower pitched sound with more efficiency, but the tradeoff is less precise handling, especially more noticeable in larger diameter propellers.
I just flew the three blade props this past weekend, I noticed it had crazy amounts of prop wash if I descended into its own "dirty" air. It didn't just have jello. It was like flying through jello. I think there's just way too much surface area on them for the motors and pid loop to keep up with. They ARE fast and fun, but I wouldn't depend on them for reliable footage. I love their sound too. I had to remove my 3d printed bumper to use them because their tolerances are so tight.
Great video, Steve! One thing I was curious about was the ability to get to the idiotic placement of the USC-C with the different props installed. How did that go, especially with the 3 blade ones.
Im no drone expert. As a matter of fact il be receiving my first ever drone in a week, the avata. With that said i am experienced with home ceiling fans. I have changed many 5 blade ceiling fans all the way up to the 50's inch lenght. I also install 3 blade fans with significantly shorter but wider blades. Guess what? The smaller 3 blade fans always put out significantly more air and generate a lot less noise. Looking forward to flying this avata drone

Welcome aboard. Without coffee in the morning I do switch into ADHD mode.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 cant blame you, ty!
4 blade is not as whiney as 5 blade. I used 3 blade and I'm happy with them
Very little difference with the sound pitch. Those blu ones i would get. Just for looks. sound pitch is little diff. blue's are a little quicker too. Well done thumbs up Captain.
Capitão drone muito top pena que aqui no Brazil ele é muito caro ficou ótimo o vídeo 👍
Nov 10th 2023 I finally had a stock prop blowup on me today. Are you still happy with these after mkt props?
So far no issues. I just use them for the Colors
it looks like they are a tad louder but lower in pitch lol
As far as I can hear, the SPL is the same, the only change is the pitch.
You should rather do the axisflying 3.5 inch upgrade. No more tumbles and more quiet too.
A kit to do the Complete opposite of what it was intended to do. I’m sure there’s never any problems with that😂 the avata is awesome for what it’s built for, just get a freestyle drone if you want that
@@FpvMental I disagree with you. People, even captain drone here in this reciew, are having this toumble problem. So it defenatly is an issue and being used for this type of flying.
The problem with the avata is, that the props are too small for it's weight! So 3.5" and right sized motors are the solution.
If you're happy with your stock avata thats nice to hear.
@@chrisbee5481 the avata is made and marketed for people who have never built or flown a drone and be easy to use as humanly possible. This kit makes you rebuild and soder the whole thing lol, a product made for the complete opposite for who it was intended to be used. It makes no sense to the vast majority of avata owners. So what if it tumbles with a uncoordinated noob yaw spin, it’s not made for that lol
@@FpvMental yeah, I get your point. Still the axisflying upgrade perfects the avata flaws. Actually it's just the soldering some don't have experience with. The frame swap is no different to lego, if you have two good hands. Its not like you have to choose parts from scratch and learn betaflight. Happy flying mate
If everyone had to personally spend money to upgrade a newly purchased DJI drone in order for it to work properly then the world would be a stranger place.
Those 3 blades sound like a dying hord of bees lol.
anyone having a problem with a prop being just a hair too big and just slightly rubbing on the prop guards? the 3 blades fit but the 4 blades on ONE side no matter which prop, rubs
Props have tiny nibs on bottom that fit in holes. If you don’t line them up properly, then what you described happens.
noise is reel problem with this avata
different pitch sound
I made a mistake and took off my goggles during landing ,forgetting to put the avata into normal mode as I usually do, and it crashed cracking one of the engine arms. Sent it to dji to get fixed and they informed me that part of the issue was the module they said and they said they changed it and cut the repair cost by half as I was at fault too.
Anyways when I got my drone back? Lo and behold it was a new drone in a new package and it doesn't have that wash issue.
So it looks like it's some fault they can't fix if you send your avatar in they just change to the new models that don't have the issue.
Did you notice a difference in battery life?
I did not notice any but the amount is so small the only way to notice would be to fly (not hover) the exact same route twice.
Get the betafpv95 and you'll know what is a really noisy drone. I mean the whole hysteria of drone "sound". Avata is OK 👌😉😂
I will never buy the Avata (too expensive, too loud, too slow) But good video. Thanks.
I’m a newbie FPV droner. I’m guessing no reason for me to buy them. I have the Avata with integra goggles and Motion 2 controller.
When you learn how to fly the AVATA in manual mode using joysticks then you should consider everything that makes up the FPV hobby.
Will 3 or 4 blade props make a difference on the avata when you have a GoPro attached? Or is it better to keep the stock 5 blade?
