I haven't watched the whole video yet, but as a guy near 40yrs old, I've played lots of driving games. They way GT2 drives, the physics, handling, how the fine-tuning changes the car is nothing more than awesome. I also drive in real life since my 17's, many cars: FWD, AWD, RWD, Manual/auto and I did many stupid and fun things, the way the cars behave is very real for a PS1 game.

If you’re willing to waste the first few weeks of Used car dealership lineups getting licenses, the GC8 Impreza Ver.2 eventually drops below 10k. It’s not as powerful as the later models but it is fantastic in so many races with gradual tuning, including Capri Rally Easy in Special Condition Events and Stars of Pleiades in Subaru one-make races.

Funny enough that Lancia Stratos Rally Car you hated for dirt events is the PERFECT choice for the El Capitan 200 which you also hate, low weight, reasonably powerful MR N/A v6, with some slight adjustments its perfect for endurance racing

Great game! Still play it from time to time. One of the best Gran Turismo titles ever! So many cars and even tracks that *only* appeared in that title! Never came back…

I have recently started playing both Vanilla GT4 and Spec-II since now i have hardware that can actually do PS2 emulation, and i must say, i disagree with almost all of Yellowbird's points: (Of course, these are all my opinions) -GTWC not being locked behind Beginner Events and Professional Events smoothes out gameplay and fixes a big annoyance i have with Vanilla. Imo, GT2 did the way to the GTWC best, since it made sense going through the Nationals and Leagues. Was still a roadblock, but it made sense and set it all up nicely -Normal Road tyres by default are a great change from the Sport Mediums. The heavier, less responsive handling, with higher odds of sliding or understeering makes it a fun challenge to keep the car on the edge of grip. -The prize cars for both the licenses and different events being changed are great, they feel much more balanced, even if some progression skips still exist (Altezza Race for example, still giving the Altezza Touring Car). -The more restrictive events are very welcome to me, as someone who has always loved the 360 Forza titles, i enjoy being a little more restricted on what i can drive to an event. I think the Tuning Car GP being only for Tuning Cars was a great idea, shame it was changed in 1.7. -The grinding changes are fair to me, tho to be fair, i am not a collector in Gran Turismo. If a car becomes no longer useful or i have driven it for too long, i sell it, making me always have plenty of money and not need to grind. -The rally car changes are a complete non issue to me, specially to the Subie Spec C. You get two Lancer Evos for fairly easy events, on Evo Meeting and Japan 90s Festival. -The new Endurance events are a very welcome addition, and i agree with the Trial Mountain 30 Laps issues, i do think that all long events should've stayed if it was possible, specially as a PC player, cause i can just do save states, i enjoy long races. -Cannot opinate on the new driving missions, haven't done them yet lol To me, while i understand where all the "challenge run" ideas come from, as someone that doesn't like to play challenge runs, only view them as yt content, i find those complaints pointless, even if i understand where you come from. Credit where credit is due tho, your views on how this mod is a mod and not a replacement is a very important thing to emphasize. While i have found Spec II MUCH more enjoyable than the already phenomenal Vanilla game, it cannot and will not replace the Vanilla release. Great video however, even if i disagree heavily! *edit: fixed a couple spelling mistakes

I remember playing test drive unlimited on pc and i think for its time its one of my favorite open world racing games, the map is huge and the car list is huge, my only gripes were that it lacked a few offroad sections that can act like shortcuts, and a.i sometimes can be aggressive during the longer races, but i still had a great time with it, i heard that the community made mods for it to bring back online.

Coming back to this video a second time, now to add my 2 cents: - they should lower the event synthetizer prize pool by a lot. You can get any car with your first 10k, hop in (after IB license) in easy difficulty, and win 20k in a blink of an eye. Randomized a big difficult map? No problem, just quit and do it again. 20k is not that much mid to late game, but winning a competition with a basic car just to gain up to 3x its price (or even more with cheap used ones) is kinda broken early game.

Having played a LOT of Gt3 and 4, I do really appreciate the progression in this game. Gt3 feels small in comparison and gt 4 maybe a little too much?

The 1000 miles race is genuinely one of my favorites in the entire game, racing an old car for long distances is why I loved this game I hate that it was nerfed, I get reducing the length, but not by that much, at least give us 3-5 laps around the Nurburging, and whatever is equivalent to that for the other tracks

I don’t think this mode aims for challenge runs but for remembering your first time playing gt4. This is what this mod mad me feel, like a kid again making events without knowing the rewards, that for a first run I think they are totally balanced. You can do sooo many things with the Dodge charger you get with all golds, cmon… I’m happy the developer aimed for a more open community approach than making a niche mod for content creators tryhard runs (that still can be done )

hola amigo YB te dejo un truco que no pude decirte la ultima vez acerca de la musica y el copy Hay mucha musica de buenos juegos que no posee copyright, por ejemplo las canciones originales de la saga GT la mayoria no poseen copyright (originales de GT o sea no las de artistas reconocidos como Van Halen o Judas Priest, sino las canciones compuestas para el juego por ejemplo la que suenan en los menus) y estoy seguro que hay muchas canciones de juegos de carrera que te gustan que podrian hacer una buena lista de reproduccion (yo tengo varias de esta saga TXR) para esos momentos en los que no podes utilizar el soundtrack del juego por problemas de esa indole Lo que yo te recomiendo, que es algo que yo hago, es descargar la musica que quiero utilizar, por ejemplo KH Insider es una pagina con miles de soundtracks de todo tipo, armar una lista de canciones, compilarlas todas en un video y subirlo en oculto a youtube, asi podes verificar cuales tienen problemas de derechos de autor, las que tengan problemas, las quitas de la lista y listo, esto no es ni ilegal, ni va en contra de ninguna norma de youtube ni de derechos de autor Por ejemplo los juegos Need for Speed 1, 2, 3HP, 4HS y Porsche Unleashed, tienen canciones de autor (de leyendas de la electronica) pero que no tienen problemas de copyright (creo que el 4 tiene una o dos), incluso si queres ir mas alla podes intentar con canciones de artitas menos conocidos o antiguos, no tiene porque se musica de juegos, si lo encontras la cancion en youtube y en la descripcion no aparece la info que otorga youtube sobre la cancion automaticamente, lo mas probable es que no posea copy espero te sirva un saludo buena semana!

As usual, EA didn't understand what they had with Porsche Unleashed. They didn't let their usual developers work on the console ports, hence their bizarre differences to the true PC version, and they never expanded on the concept in future titles. If PU was released in the internet distribution era, I wonder if they would have ever even patched it. They just had no idea how good this game was.

Street tires are not the default tires on GT4 cars for a reason I learned from playing this mod: they make the cars unstable and difficult to correct the slightest rear end slip. GT4 has a physics problem where things happen the opposite way they do in reality. It is easier to correct a rear end slip in this game with slick tires than with street tires, and in reality it is exactly the opposite. Also, I would prefer faster opponents than having these tires. The races become slower and more boring.

I hate that I can't use this mod. Couldn't install it
