FMCSA to require electronic vehicle identification devices?
My former employer told me not to worry about your weight we're AG exempt.. yeah, until i got pulled over by DOT
I justo got hired but i have a new offer from another company if i take the drug test from this other company the clearinghouse will notify my current emoyer?
The load can always be rescheduled period.
The only thing it does is mess up a mans sleeping habits. And makes you more tired .
What if I quit my job in the morning after my night shift then get called by my manager that he needs to see me in the office in person I did not know for what at the moment turns out I went to see him that same day in the afternoon after my 10 hr rest but he never showed up and got told by a supervisor that I need to do a random but I had already quit earlier and had a new job line up for next week so I called HR and notified her about the situation she said she would take care of it with Dot compliance and don’t need to take the drug test. Well turns out my new job calls me the next day saying they need to check my clearinghouse cuz there was a change, well I went and check my clearinghouse and turns out my former employer put on my clearinghouse DRUG TEST REFUSAL also I am clean and have nothing to hide been with my cdl for 12 years and never had a problem like this. now I can’t get a job as of now.. help anyone 😢??!!
Sorry to be over-commenting on this, but I missed the livestream and Brian's passing out bum scoop left and right. You cannot fail an inspection merely for not understanding the process officers use to inspect your rig, and M/T Hoover is not saying you can. Roadside inspections are not a redo of your CDL test. You should know how to inspect your rig to make sure every component is in good working order. If you do, you can easily figure out what the officer is trying to test and test it. But you are absolutely NOT required to know and follow the same inspection procedures as the 1,000+ different DOT-authorized jurisdictions in the U.S., all of whom approach an inspection slightly differently. So no, you can't "fail an inspection" simply for not tracking a DOT officer's colloquialisms. Know how to inspect your rig you'll be fine. I respect DOT officers but these sycophants like Brian is being who try to yes-man everything they say (and some things they don't say) do more harm than good.
Also, "ayo hol up" Brian Runnels. A DOT officer does not have authority to conduct a full-blown search of the interior of your vehicle or personal belongings during a road-side inspection absent probable cause of a crime. Yes, the smell of marijuana counts but there has to be some probable cause of a crime. A roadside inspection does not confer a complete waiver of 4th amendment rights.
Great video. So if you use a full 7 or full 8 the remaining 2 or 3 can be off Duty? But a short 3 hr SB would have to be followed by 7 SB?
If you have three hours off duty then go in sleeper birth….which freezes your clock with let’s say 5 hours duty time and 3 hours drive time remaining. if you go on duty, does that clock change
Why is it not recognizing my dot number?
Do you know any good lawyers in Houston TX for FMCSA valuation
On a paper DVIR does the odometer reading be at PreTrip reading or PostTrip reading?
I want to get my CDL training and license. I am a citizen of USA. HOwever I lived in India for almost 4 and half years. Before that I lived for 20 years in USA. So what they say about my 10 year history. thank you.
Great Information! Thanks for sharing
You are good 👍🏾
Mine does
Your eld will reset on its own
Log that 3 hours off duty
3 hour is off duty
Anyone can take advantage of it
I’m retired truck driver. With a class A and all the endorsements. What are the benefits or how would it benefit me to drop my cdl?
Should just only play the last minute
Thank you for all of the informative information. I will direct any future clients in your direction.
Just became a safety professional. 32 year O/O and driver. Good material.
Time spent traveling to a nearby, reasonable, safe location to obtain required rest after loading or unloading. The time driving under personal conveyance must allow the driver adequate time to obtain the required rest in accordance with minimum off-duty periods under 49 CFR 395.3(a)(1) (property-carrying vehicles) or 395.5(a) (passenger-carrying vehicles) before returning to on-duty driving, and the resting location must be the first such location reasonably available. You can pc 5 miles to a rest area or truck stop as long as its the first one. Laden or unladen

Good stuff. Former O/O now into safety management. Im a subscriber now.
Soggy bottom boys going to be fine...
Why are trucking school drug screens considered pre-employment? It really makes no sense!
Nobody wants their whole life regulated by job. Right now you can be drunk as a skunk but 10 hrs later you can drive. But smoke some bud a month ago at home and get fired.
🤔 A couple days ago I got an inspection "warning" for having my cell phone in my right hand while driving my box truck. ×I have a chauffeur's license no CDL license needed to drive the box truck.. After doing my research and watching videos like this here I thought the cop was giving me a break, but now I'm realizing it was basically reaming me! 🤯 I'm an idiot that's said "thank you officer I appreciate" not realizing he was probably laughing inside!😡
Finish EDLT do I still have to do written test
I have a question if i had a drug test for pre employment but decided i didn’t want the job again and decided not to show up for the drug test would that show up on my clearinghouse?
Not supposed to per 49 CFR 382.107
@@Trucksafe so it gonna get reported?
It’s not supposed to be reported under those circumstances
But it say fail to appear except pre employment
@johnmaze6091 That means it’s not a refusal and shouldn’t be reported as such
If you are an owner operator can you PC Home after your last load on your Friday?
What if the driver did not get his/her 10 hours off duty before starting a new work shift? Does he/she has to submit a daily DOT log sheet on those days where they didn't get at least 10 hours off? Great Video and thanks for sharing!
Yes. Thanks for watching!
Automatic brakes SUCK!! Collision detection on trucks SUCK! Digital gauge clusters SUCK! I do like the new KW automatics though. I prefer manual, but those truck are WIDE and spacious. Mind you, I run day cab fuel trucks. Obviously I’m local, but I would mind having one of those in our fleet.
Wow, feeling more confident every day and noticing my anxiety dissolve until I knew I was “in control” is definitely a relief, I went with what I mentioned and a week after my paruresis was gone. I just go'ogled the latest in Beck Reznark’s guide and now I can go without even thinking about it.
So doing a split 7/3 or 8/2 will also reset the 11 hour clock as well?
Great video and easy to understand! I like that realistic examples were used along with the animated timeline and that he repeated a couple of simplified explanations of the rules that can be a little confusing the way the federal regulation is written out. - Thanks!
When they ask have you been in an accident are they including psp score?
If i am an owner operator and do not have a cdl am i required to complete the drug and alcohol clearinghouse?
If you run a Department of Enforcement then to me those people should have performed the job that is being enforced for atleast 5 years for the experience of the work; the college education comes in second and the politics comes in flat last place, doesn't this make sense? Sad part of this all these new rules were pushed not by the trucking companies, not by the unions, not by the drivers; no these rules were pushed for by the insurance companies, as usual, same companies that pushed for the mandatory seatbelt rules "for safety" not to stop a driver of anything to look for a larger crime, if you believe that I have ocean front property for sale in Eastern Nevada. The other sad part of the rules is that the people making up the rules have never even made an OTR run of atleast 1k miles; just to see how these rules actually work, how the ELD's screw up the hours of service and how faulty they are.
Waistof time to watch duh three plus seven equals ten I could of told u that
Where in the hell did my Personal conveyance option go, it no longer shows up on my truck's ommnitracs screen.
They TOOK that shit homie! Bastards.
I'm glad I'm almost ready to Retire...
Since trucks an truckins in my blood I can never quit. Unless I was to get a total blood transfusion...any volunteers?
I'm with you, even when off Duty ( 34 hour restart) I'm Driving just to Drive.. It's crazy...
So you don't need to do the clearinghouse to operate a light duty commercial vehicle?
I have one question. While doing 34 reset in truck. Can i go for buy food at near store. If yes do i need to do inspection of truck or no?
Form and manner violation?? Really? We have enough to worry about.
I still don't understand how my QC calculates the 14 after a split. I've tried to calculate the hours based on these videos but it never makes sense. The 11 hr makes sense but when I subtract all the on duty +drive hrs from the 14 it still doesn't amount to what I get at the end of my 2nd break
