@@bruinsdiehardsfrankly I thought an 8 by 8 was pretty much perfect for both the team and him. But I’m personally frustrated with the people saying he doesn’t even deserve a 6 mil by 4 year deal and they want him traded like he isn’t arguably one of the top 5 goalies in the league.

I’m not sure of what he would have gotten at arb as there is no real comparable for him. If he went to arbitration the Bruins would have walled him to UFA status and is why they didnt do it.

@@bruinsdiehards its just frustrating. to me it seems like the bruins made every point to show him he is the guy and he returns by holding them hostage. ive always liked and defended him but he's testing my patience. it appears that he's got a huge ego problem. just how it looks and sounds. the goals that eliminated him /bruins in the last 2 playoffs is not worth 900k. nevermind 10 milliion.

The good news is it only preseason

Many people have said Bussi is the future, but I’m not seeing it yet. He looks tentative, not always square to the puck and goes down far too early. The good news is Poitras got back up and kept playing

Goaltending is my only concern at this point. I think they have a strong forward group and as long as they don't get hit with the injury bug they will be fine.

@@bruinsdiehards Yes really strong on forwards and I think with Lindholm and if he give Tufte a chance then goaltending is the one big concern. I watched the highlights- dumpster of a game for us and Bussi was as you said terrible.

It wasn’t as bad as it looked on paper really. Bussi was the one who looked the most lost out there, and I know that isn’t fair because most of the goals weren’t his fault but I think that’s why people are concerned. That and Zadorov stunk on ice, but I’m not reading too far into it yet

Did you notice that our top two lines let the rangers top lines shoot at will in the first period, then less in the second and only 5 shots in the third? I think the bruins wanted to test bussi. And he failed.

The player that stood out to me was the Bruins roster defenseman that should l've been partnering with McAvoy - he wasn't on the ice! Someone who's familiar with the system. I believe that was a key to the game last night Otherwise, Jonathan quick, fun to watch. But no one on the bruins! Lol! Was that the Bruins? I think Bussi has a lot more to give. Has not had an opportunity to develop NHL vision & tracking was playing behind the keystone cops - that was confusing! Interesting they had Bussi play the full game. Now I'm wondering whether he is on the trading block. We know Depietro on NHL ice, I'm holding off on the other goalies yet. Especially an undrafted guy like Bussi. They're different.

@@bruinsdiehards I'd be interested in hearing your expanded perspective on that. You don't just throw things out like that without having a valid basis for your perspective. If you're lost for video topics, that would be an interesting conversation I've been impressed at how Bob knows exactly how to pick the right rosters for each goalie the last few seasons as rask's career diminished. We should have gone through a crashing rebuild by now - since zdeno Chara left Tuukka is nearly irreplaceable! It'll take a decade or 2 to find another at his level When Jeremy was called up, he wasn't ready. Covid knocked out halak and Rask. Bob employed Jeremy perfectly - just stop the puck. Eat it. Don't allow rebounds, we'll take care of the offensive zone faceoffs He helped start that kids NHL career off with confidence, didn't ask too much of him. And that created some outstanding statistics that don't tell the entire story. I liked Daniel but glad they let go of Vladar. Likely on Bob's recommendation I'd like to hear why you think he's lost his mojo. You likely have good points. the game has changed significantly over his 22 years. It's now a "business". I was coaching right about the time all those goalie gear changes happened.. Lost a lot of USA budding goalies because they couldn't financially keep up and they started to skate out. Everybody had to buy all new gear. And they couldn't keep up with inventories, it was expensive. Absolutely no discounts! In that gear changed the game for many goalies. The great ones kept up Bob knows how to assess and bring out the best in goalies. I'm a bit excited for Korpisalo because we need a Band-Aid right now. It took Linus a while to catch up to learning curves, getting his hips back & becoming familiar with goalie Bob's style It's reported that korpisalo already plays Bob's preferred style. Hoping he has a shorter learning curve. I think he and Jeremy can handle the net behind our defensive core this season. Got to see how it works out west first I don't even want to talk about linus. I dropped off the internet for a while as I couldn't take Bruins fans trashing him at first. They did not welcome him with open arms. Buffalo fans knew what we had. More upset about losing Linus than Taylor Hall They were proven correct. When he was traded my stomach turned... I'm still having hockey PTSD about it 😑 Not really, but it hurt!

@@TheFoolintherainn Maybe I will do one. Korpisalo is 100% here because Bob said, "Sure, I can work with him, but there have to be intangibles first." I think my point is that whether Swayman was in Boston or not, he would still be a good goalie. I love goalie Bob, and he is an asset, but I’m not relying on him to be the saviour for the goalies. Sometimes a goalie isn't good enough and all the coaching in the world isn’t going to change that

Yup and I have a grin on my face. I do hope we see a little more of the rat Marchand this season when situations call for it. IMHO he can be a leader and give us some of the rat when the team needs it. There were times I had the impression he was trying to do what Chara or Bergy would have done in situations. He needs to be Capt. Brad and take from the wisdom of Chara and Bergy.

I agree it is his to win or lose. But if Lysell plays the rest of preseason (every game) like he did last night I do believe they should give the kid a shot.

What I think isn't relevant - the master has spoken! Love those Swiss army knives! There doesn't seem to be any question that Geekie already has nhl vision, chemistry and more experience so it would make sense to employ him on the second line But as we know, team sports are often won by lower line mismatches I also appreciate the idea of geeky on a third line situation. Not because he doesn't qualify for second line but we may need him there. I think we've touched on this before: I'm not as familiar with forward lines as I am the defensive angle (I reserve my right to be wrong) it seems that the 3C is one of the most difficult positions of the forward lines - 1 C and 2C you have a good idea on who your opponent is going to be 3C & 3rd line, can take on anyone from Alex ovechkin to the newbies trying to prove themselves in the first 3 minutes of NHL ice time Why I've always appreciated Charlie coyle. So I can see Geeky needed on the third line helping drive the play, alongside a less experienced 3C With coyle up on the second line. But when you used the term "Swiss army knife?" In my mind, you answered the question. It'll depend on the opponents. He may be an important piece on the third line against certain teams. Swiss army knife.. He can whip out his corkscrew on the third line guys!

Yeah Monty said today he might put in a vet lineup against the Rangers including Pasta. I have my doubts Depietro can be that backup if Swayman doesn't sign

@@bruinsdiehards To this point I think it's still up in the air. Depietro had a better year in Providence last year and right now he's the only one of the two that's had a good showing in a game. Bussi is behind right now. He'll get more time to try and claw it back but yeah I think before this year had started Bussi had been jumped in the depth chart (I believe it's why they signed Depietro's contract first) I don't believe anything that has happened in camp so far has changed that.

We will see what he gets. I couldn't care less what he gets paid. I know the Bruins are better with him in the lineup. I still think it will be an 8x8 in the end

@@bruinsdiehards sway has earned a cheaper long term like 7, or slight overpaid 2 years, 8. Bout all he’s earned. Anything more is him leveraging being overpaid and could fall off a cliff in 2/3 years.
