I am generalizing here. I find the NHL as a whole very hypocritical. There have been players given chance after chance for treatment, yet Lucic gets shunned. Now I want to be clear that no man should ever hit a woman, I consider men who do such cowards. I should not be surprised if the NHL flip flops on this matter. Granted I have not seen how or if Lucic successfully completed the treatment program. Hope he gets past this and has success in his future endeavors.

Ik his lawyer said after the charges were dropped, that she was also drunk and she tried changing her story. When you look at it alcohol did play a big role in this, and although there was an incident back in like 2010, they were fine most of their marriage like she still mentioned how he was a great father, even after filing for divorce a few months ago. Idk obviously both are wrong and you should never lay hands on a woman but at the same time we don’t know every piece of detail. Obviously things are left out on purpose because the investigation is over and the charges were dropped. With that said, I think he should be given another chance.
You can say he did but legally he did not. And it wasn’t a hit btw he grabbed her by her hair. Do I think it happened yes. But legally nothing happened. So how could the league legally hold him out.
@@mike8099m IDK about the whole hair thing considering the police were laying charges when the wife wouldn't. When the wife refused to testify at all the charges had to be dropped. I don't think the police go after you themselves for hair pulling? But regardless, you are right, he was not convicted of any crime and went thru the program. Let the man earn a living and if it's as a Bruin then great.
Watching Looch from his rookie season scrapping to get into the league to hoisting the cup, he'll always have a special place in my heart. But if the B's want to go in a different direction, I'm more than okay with letting the young guys play. But I also don't want to see fans whining about how Boston needs to get tougher if they start getting pushed around, and expect someone like Maroon to do the dirty work while he coasts around and tickles peoples chins after the whistle

But definitely heard Max Jones has a bee under the old bonnet, so to speak, and with some potential offensive upside...kind of like a young Lucic. Though Max Jones ain't gonna have a Krejci and Horton combo to skate with. At this point in his career, I'd rather not see Looch have to risk his health because he's only there to drop the gloves. Never seen him completely get his clock cleaned, but he's definitely lost some bouts and took some dingers along the way. Maybe it's time for him to hang 'em up, but no one's ever accused him of NOT being stubborn.

Ullmark wasnt a Vezina goalie in Buffalo either, I think Korpisalo will do fine in Boston. As for Lucic, he may pick up a PTO IF the league lets him play, but I think he should just call it quits now. He was pumped to play in Boston and that was going to give him an edge over his age, but for any other team I dont think he will be able to muster the same energy. He doesnt have a shot to play in Boston again.
If Swayman doesn’t get signed,Korpi might be playing all the games.As for Lucic,I would be absolutely stunned if he ever played another NHL game,Father Time catches up with everyone.

Let him retire with dignity on NHL ice. Some of us don't forget who he is. He doesn't need to retire in shame. And yes, he can still contribute as bottom 6 to a team. It won't be in boston, but I hope he contributes somewhere. I refuse to be his judge, jury and executioner
No one is stopping him from retiring. Regardless of the off-ice issues I don't think he can be serviceable anymore in the NHL. I understand what he did in the past and how he played, but that type of play puts years on the body. I think if he wants his dignity he should retire.

I really think Looch could have helped last year's team. They were so lacking some toughness and an enforcer to keep things clean. Ultimately Sweeney was forced to go out and get Maroon despite his back. Now Sweeney has multiple options as 4th line bruts plus a much heavier defense.
You look at Austin Watson he pleaded guilty to domestic abuse in 2018 which was a felony. And still is on his record. Although he had to do like community service. He still in the league.. and has gone through many teams. Although alcohol was a big part of that case too, just like lucic and his wife with what happened. Plus the charges are completely dropped. So we should be moving on from this. If there’s no current charges you should be allowed to play in the NHL. Also considering we don’t even know 100% all the full details.. and we will likely never know.

I mean I could tell that when they had the 2011 celebration during pre game for 100th and he wasn’t a part of it. It’s like they purposely forgot about him. From what a lot of people tell me since the Mitchell Miller signing, when the Bruins are now faced with controversial stuff they just stay quiet and try to distance themselves from whatever it is.
