Good update. The numbers of "reports" on Swayman's status over the past few weeks has been ridiculous. It leads fans to believe "Bruins insiders" literally have no idea what's going on, none
They literally don't 🤣🤣 I don't think anyone but sways agent and sweeney know for sure. Everyone else is reporting what the janitor or secretary in sweeneys office overheard while eavesdropping with a glass cup against the door 🙄🤣🤣
They are just doing their jobs. It's their sources that jump the gun. I like watching and reading hockey content, so I will always check it all out but decide what to believe
@@Yette Maybe Sweeny is totally embarrassed 😳 with having no leverage on contract talks with Swayman's agent. Bottom line Sweeney, you are totally to blame for this ridiculous fiasco. Trade him for a right hand defensemen, two first round picks and get rid of Brando Carlo period.
@@miked4309 I was thinking that when Arizona moved to utah, they declared it a new franchise and divvied up all the profits among team owners... They're making the suits rich and the players salaries are indeed falling behind. And then basically they forced the players to take their salaries during the pandemic so all the Fringe pilot fish along their careers could still get paid... Especially paying taxes. Then they stagnated the salary cap to make them pay it back? A few more things like this happening over the last few years has made me wonder when the next lockout will be. But I'm not sure which side of the door will be locked! I know the players want to play, Sway holding out for a better salary is not totally off the mark, just wish it was another player with a more established record.
Sweeney is still a hockey player!! 😁 Put him in the boards and he will hit back! Eventually... Yes, he & Caps GM are very tight lipped. I've always believed, after last year's arbitration, they brought Korpisalo in for a reason... Could be a bargaining chip in this negotiation Or after going through Bruins hockey coaching, he'd be ripe for the trade block if Jeremy works out. I think we're just catching a couple of snapshots out of an ongoing chess game. I can barely make it through Chinese checkers! This is got to be the refs fault! Thanks! 👍
Sweeney paired with Ray Bourque for 8+ years, which allowed Ray to play his game. And he happens to have the best record in his current tenure...another 8-year mark of winning proficiency. I am so hoping that a big trade opportunity come up via all this...something I hinted at 2-3 weeks, ago. The B's would get a few #1s and a few #2s and some. What would that do to the franchise? The team will compete for a Cup with/out Swayman. Now, imagine them with another top center (via high draft and/or trade). And they can still make some more offensive noise. Are younger Bruins fans waking up to the fact that the B's won their last cup with Tim Thomas and not Rask in the nets? I'll take a Binnington and a few more top forwards rather than someone who studied up and wants us to watch him there, as well, as surely as he'll be doing it for a living in a few years. Look away!
sweeney said he was confident they will get something done by december 1. LMFAO. WHAT? if the Bs started the season with Korps and he does really well that that could blow up on Jeremy.
That is a very big If. Many people think we can slot any goalie in because of the team's defence, but the underlying numbers say differently. Swayman ranked 4 in the NHL for goals above expected. The Dec 1st comment was Don being a little tongue-in-cheek. Yes, there is a deadline of Dec 1st, but Sweeney does not want to wait until that date. If you want my opinion, I think that comment was meant to be about Swayman’s agent. With all the reports swirling, I think they’re very close to a deal and maybe even have the framework done. But they’re stuck on something, and neither side will budge. I don't think it’s term or AAV.
If it doesn’t come as a notification from my espn account or from you I don’t even acknowledge it. If a podcast says it to be true so many places run with it, and you try to find the source and there is none. Exactly though let’s get arguing with refs again and none of this nonsense, won’t care as much when we aren’t starved for hockey.
If they give Swayman more than 6.5-7 a year, then that’s grounds to be fired. Bussi is ready to take the step. Hamstringing the team when he clearly hasn’t earned that kind of payday is absurd Let him go. Whatever.
Whether Jeremy takes the net or not, Bruins need to sign him so they gain some control over the "asset." They've been investing in him for years We don't want to lose that business investment, Nor want him to end up on an up-and-coming hot team like montreal, within our own division or Canes within our own conference. Montreal still has Carey Price's ltir to mess around with if they so choose. Long shot yet I've been following Habs very closely the last three seasons and that would not be out of the realm of GM Kent Hughes guessing they're quibbling over the no trade clause and perhaps payout dates at this point Lewis gross, Jeremy agent is a CPA who does the taxes for his clients! So this could get down to decimal points! Anything can happen in this league with all the NHL funny money. I think it will work out - it's free marketing!
@@bruinsdiehardsagree that, bussi is not quite ready to be 1b, yet he's not totally green he's been an important backbone to the Providence Bruins with not many great draft picks coming in and he's got a pretty good record he's the undrafted guy... They do things on their own timing. But it would be nice to have that 6 ft 5 in wall back in net! With all due respect, Jeremy is nowhere near the level of Pasta nor McAvoy They chose not to take money elsewhere in exchange for job security. Pasta's contract takes him to 36 years old. You know more about these than I do... He gets to delay the league minimum contract and keep an ltir status for another season should something go wrong. And other stuff I don't know. It's going to be fun watching Bussi - he's a mystery wild-card not coming up in the traditional NHL draft pick Like Torey Krug. Who I'd love to have back on a old man minimum League contract! I love Bussi too…last year he was the best goalie in camp…I love the way they sured up the D…just about any goalie should be able to play well behind that defense

Most insiders get their info from the agents. The agents just choose what they want out to the media

Sweeney why on earth did you back yourself into a corner. Not very smart on your part. If he does not accept 6.5 million then trade him period.
We truly don't know what they’re offering anymore
Trade him where?
How?
What does his contract say?
I'm seriously asking-
This is the mysterious part - have any other teams put down offer sheets?
Trade him to a team with Brandon Carlo and in return Sweeney must demand a top notch right handed defensemen and two first round picks.
