Throttle kit for ungoverned Predator 212 and Clone engines
This throttle kit is only for ungoverned engines with stock style carbs.
This allows the stock gas tank to remain on the engine unlike a top plate linkage
Here is the part I am installing

Please use billet flywheels and rods in ungoverned engines. The stock parts are not designed for higher than governed rpm use and can fail!

I tore apart a Predator 459 to see what all the hype was about This engine created a lot of buzz because of the oil pump and the large size This a good engine for industrial use when the governor is intact Only the aftermarket cam fit this engine. The ARC billet rod and flywheel do not fit this engine…and I never run an ungoverned engine without those parts The crank does not use roller bearing...

This is a struggle for all of us! I have had to use a Dremel to slice a key in half to remove as it would not budge with a Big Fun Hammer ( BFH)… that is before I discovered this trick!

Catch Can mystery revealed

A catch can is merely a remote vent for the engine…nothing special here! High performance and even stock engines create internal pressure and must be vented. If an engine is sealed the internal pressure can blow oil from the gaskets and seals. The Predator 224 is a “stroker” engine and the build needs to be done differently than a 196/212cc build and we can’t just slap parts together. Bust out the Dremel and take your time. Support your local header! Keep from cracking your pipe!

Header support is often overlooked. These engines have a lot of vibration which can break your header or even pull out the head studs! This is easy to do and does not take much time. Pre made universal fit brackets universally fit nothing. Make a header brace specific to your bike and never worry about breaking a header again

Nope. The driven unit is for 3/4" diameter shafts

where do you put the fuel shut off valve when you're using a pulse pump on that engine
Put a shut off valve between the fuel tank and the pump.
How do I get the parts you sell ( side cover deal etc .). Not sure how to run this internet crap.

Grinding the rod , would that cause vibration if you don’t get exactly the same amount on both sides. ?
@@nicolec7290 we never grind on rods, only the block and/or camshaft
Thanks for this video! It was very informative and helped me set up my amazon converter because omb was out of stock. I got the reverse wound spring from omb and can't wait to try this out on my project. Just a note to @lsj624 the one I got from amazon was not a reverse wound spring when it was delivered, so something to make sure of.

I found out the extra ribbing on the top of the block means nothing. The governor arm dropped down and the rod pushed it right into those ribs and cracked them open. The crank and the piston are different to make the longer stroke.

Hello Eric, longtime member of OMB had a quick question for you what size bolt goes in that crank good old Amazon sent me the wrong hardware for my torque converter that I’m putting on a predator 420 hemi I can’t believe Amazon messed up lol😂

Hello so I just need to tap a hole on top of the valve cover I only need one hole,or do I need to do a hole on top of the valve cover and a hole on the side of the cover ?
If using a stock valve cover that already has one vent hole, you only need to drill and tap one hole for the pulse line. You do not want to tap the hole on the top of the valve cover. It has to be next to the gasket flange to be below the inner structure of the valve cover

I got a hemi 212 engine it’s stage one and I’m trying to put a gas tank on it do I need to put a pulse on it
@@StevenfloresSteven there is an inner structure inside of the stock valve cover. If you drill a hole in the top you have to go through 2 layers of steel. That is why you will notice that I drilled and tapped the hole lower on the front of the valve cover to be below that inner structure.
@@StevenfloresSteven Take your valve cover off and look inside. Don't drill and tap the valve cover where the rectangular inner structure is. Once you look inside it will make more sense.

Chances are it will be fine. If you are really worried about it, set it again!

If you are keeping the stock gas tank, a fuel pump is not needed

If your beard is why you use the Gray "Goat" (as in goatee) You'll need to change your moniker to the "the Gray Circle" as that is what your beard style is called. Hi Eric, I recently removed the gov and installed the supporting mods as well. Now I noticed the engine vibrates more than normal after everything installed. I remember cleaning the block and side cover with brake clean and it got on the bearings. Could that have damaged the bearings, thus creating a vibration? Thanks
It is probably not a bearing issue. Built engines will vibrate more than a stock engine...just part of the program! Did you set the end play on the crank? Was the piston installed with the triangle or the dot facing the pushrods? What was the oil clearance on the billet rod? There are too many factors here for me to try and diagnose this without my hands and eyes on the engine

Have you ever came across the driver squealing? When in motion
Only when I run over a cat! LOL JOKING! The belts can squeal, especially if the gearing is off and the parts have never been serviced. It could be the belt slipping. There is no way for me to diagnose this without my hands and eyes on it, sorry
Is the bearing supposed to sit perfectly flush on the inside and the oil seal perfectly flush against the bearing on the outside? Cant find a photo anywhere showing the fitment.
@@TheLuvvgunn the bearing will only go in so far as there is a step inside the block and sidecover

Valve lash does not change with different rockers and/or different springs

Hey man love your channel i have the exact same torque converter and i installed it just like you said only problem is my golfcart takes off on me now i used the belt that came with the torque converter do you think i should try and buy a different belt? I would really need my hands and eyes on it to know what is happening here. Make sure the inner pulleys are aligned properly. If so, you may want to try another belt. If using the plate mount system, this is the best belt you can get www.ombwarehouse.com/-9-7-belt-asymmetric.html This is only for the plate mount systems

I had a question wondering if you can help, I installed a new pair of champion rockers on my 212 predator the cam is old and I salvaged it from a older motor, I installed the rockers set the valve lash and all when I go to turn the crank it does the exhaust side smooth and easy but once it goes to the intake the motor stops turning like it hits a hard spot, I forcefully turned it once thinking nothing can happen but it broke the rocker arm where the pushrod is pushing up, I just wanted to know is the cam I’m using ruined or warped or can it be something else?

The Predator 224 non-Hemi (not the new Hemi version) always had the reinforced block
