  • Header support is often overlooked. These engines have a lot of vibration which can break your header or even pull out the head studs!
This is easy to do and does not take much time.
Pre made universal fit brackets universally fit nothing. Make a header brace specific to your bike and never worry about breaking a header again

Another excellent helpful video Eric!! Thanks for making your videos, I have used a number of them.
I just today followed your video to make and install a header brace on my Coleman CT200U-EX which you have been helping out on some things over the years... Recently my stage 3 upgrade kit, which parts specifically for my specific enginge and needs.
The part that especially helped me was how you twisted the bracket using a cresent wrench, I did the same.
    You rock!!

OOOPS? I've mounted mine to the frame. Thanks for the video! I'll look at changing mine now if the strap fits with in the frame.

When I made my header I braced it at the same point on the head and attached a little more than half way down the silencer. I braced at the silencer because it is not welded to the pipe. It is removable and servicable.

I do a little bit of welding and I have a lot of people come to me and weld they exhaust pipe for breaking I try to tell them put a brace 😊

Didn't brace mine on my tillotson 212 and it snapped right at the bend coming out of the head, gonna try this and see how it goes

I tell people that think they don't need a brace to make a video of their bike running and rev it a few times.
You will see your header flopping around like a wet noodle.

Usually I get my pipes within a couple mms of a frame piece and just hose clamp it down tight. Easy removal and adjustment

These engines vibrate a lot and need to move independently from the frame. Clamping any header to a frame is never a good idea

Does a staged header like that one that opens up wider at the end give the engine more overall power that say a single 1 inch header pipe ? I have the 1 inch header pipe that came with the stage 2 kit from omb and i have the mini 91 rlv silencer on the end of it but was thinking of getting one of those staged headers if they will have a noticable effect on performance. Will it?

    What size line for venting

1/4" ID hose is great for most engines. It really depends on what has been done to the engine and what fuel you are using.

What's the thread size of that bold that bolts to the motor

    • @TheGrayGoatGarage
      @TheGrayGoatGarage  Год назад +1

The small bolt for the support is M6-1.0
