Wow thanks Goats! I've definitely thrown out a few clutches that were still good in my past.

Only on Colemans. The clutch with the caged needle bearing was the only thing good about the 16mm crankshaft.

      @@Deucealive75 .....🤔....the 1 inch adapter for the torque converter....if it wasn't for that 16mm shaft I might have a more difficult time getting a 30 series on a Predator 79....that's 2 for the 16mm!!

Coleman changed to the 16mm crank in 2016. Most of the bad reviews were for the clutch and chain falling off. I think a lot of people were getting the bikes without understanding the maintenance required. I think I adjusted my chain 3 or 4 times before it stopped stretching. A lot of people don't realize the chains need adjusted (and lubed) even though the bike is still "new'". If they don't get that they aren't going to know that the bronze bushing in the clutch needs a few drops of oil often. I'd bet a lot of guys are using oil on the caged needle bearing instead of the service that should be done in this video.
And then there are riders that are hard on the clutch. You can't baby them. Engage the thing and go.

I have seen 13th 420 clutches 3\4 on line but 12 tooth nowhere.

The common clutches for 420 chain all have 10 teeth. There is an 11 tooth option for a Noram clutch. I have never seen a 12 or 13 tooth clutch for 420 chain!

Can I switch over to 35 chain on the Colman? Running single chain and can only find a 12 tooth cluch for 420 stock chain.

With the 224 by the way. Not the 196

Yes, you can switch to 35 chain, but I don’t recommend it! It requires a sprocket adapter and new rear sprocket and even when done you still will have a bad drive ratio that will kill clutches quickly.
Eliminating the Jack shaft took you from a 10:1 drive ratio to a 5:1 drive ratio
There are no 12 tooth clutches for 420 chain
You would be much better off with a torque converter
If you really want to use a clutch and straight chain, have an 80 tooth sprocket made! It will be the size of a large pizza pan but will work for you
