I feel like I hear hocketing fairly often in this genre too, although not tons of it. Maybe a few notes in each bar. Always sounds really cool.

Love nitzer ebb friends were more into nin. Im more into juke jit and funky technobass now. Still play drum pads and kejyboards live but i discovered that midi snap thing. But click sync goes back to click to the 1980s roland xox line.

Uff another issue i used to have... syncing hard ware to daws while making music with friends who use only computer daws and didnt have standard midi cables. Found a work around my newer mpc can interface via usb with my friends that use cubase fruityloops logic and other daws. I do use pcs on my own to menu dive into my dx200 & deepmind, and .wav editors for sample manipulation beyond time slicing & stretching. Can be done on my mpc but i started making music with my friends using 2 casios a dx7 a free windows 3.0 .wav editor. That our bread and butter. We used that wave editor on loop mode heavily. Also we did play with some 90s era windows daws and this weird commodore sequencer/synth. But our bread and butter was chopping and screwing sounds then looping them through the windows wav editor a casio and actually menu diving and getting weird noises out of the dx7.lots of fighting too over the direction then me me playing off beat. we were dumb kids who didnt even know about snap and looking back we looping up weird polyrythms thatd go in and out of sync while playing synths over it. Uff. Then trying to getbit perfect over a 4 track tape player

Vsts? I always got midi lag when incorporating hardware into computer workstations. Maybe thats not an issue anymore.i use mpc live as my workstation. I dx, 7 200, and volca fm. Beringher makes great clones of classic synths. Have deepmind 12 (juno clone) and started building a eurorack with a neutron and model d they stand alone and fit into the eurorack format if you want to build a synth on them cheeply. Korg volca perscussion is great so is behringer's 808 clone. Usually i just an mpc and the deepmind (juno clone). Sometimes my euro rack the waldorf string machine streichfet and fm synths. The pita with my eurorack set up is that i have to manually manually tune the oscillators turn them off, and the sound design is gone. The mpc comes in handy there as since you can create multi sampled virtual instruments on your mpc. But the eaurorack knob tweaking is gone. And need to get a bigger hard drive on my mpc. Im kind of at the point where i ahouldn't be buying any more synths or drum machines but replacing patch cables midi and audio cables as they go out. I should probably buy a digital mixer. Im using an analog mixer and its hard to get rid of the surface noise... want a talk box too. all those synths you mention are awesome. But really i could get by on my mpc, juno clone, & dx 200 7 or volca fm ran through the analog filters on cheap eurorack set up. Like playing the filters too.. if you set up your analog filters right they generate a sine wave you can play. . . Then casios are mostly toys but there are a couple cool ones i wish i hadnt given or thrown away.

Its almost 2025 and i still use vanguard on my brand new tracks. Much more effective tool than Nexus series. Thank you ReFx for creating such a cult synth.
