    This is not the best emulation I've heard. But it's not the worst either. It sounds pretty good, the only cons would be the interface for me. The menus are not super intuitive, especially the ''screen'' of the synth. Let me know what you think guys!
    I really like what Behringer is doing right now. They're killing it. I know it's a polarizing subject, but I like the fact that they are helping musicians that don't have the chance to buy 4-5k synths.

    I'm beginning to suspect that the market is getting really oversaturated at this point. There are so many good free synths out there and if you compare of them to this, this one is not special. To me at least.

      @Tonepusher  5 месяцев назад +1

      Exactly what I'm thinking. It's not a BAD plugin, but I'd go OBXd or anything Arturia before that one. The UI is bit annoying to me.

      @@Tonepusher Annoying is putting it mildly. If, nowadays, you release anything for free to attract new or more customers, make sure that what you're giving away is actually worth checking out, working well and pleasing to the eye. It seems good if you like to program your own patches. Overall, rather underwhelming. Behringer kind of took the analog synth word by storm, so you'd expect their VSTi to be amazing. Can't complain too much about a free synth, though - it's more about their reputation. After all, other software devs make amazing soft synths. I think with more usable presets and a bit of an interface overhaul, it could be great.

    • @Tonepusher

    To me, this plugin sounds somewhat similar to Subtractor in Reason, back in the early 2000's. It can sound okay with effects, but dry it's not very good. It's actually one of the worst analog emulations I've heard in quite a few years. Analog has never sounded as cold and shrill as when done by Behringer.

    • @Tonepusher
      @Tonepusher  5 месяцев назад

      haha! well I never used Subtractor. I'll check that out. But I think Vintage doesn't sound THAT bad. I've heard emulations that sounded way worst than that.

    • @rebeccaschade3987
      @rebeccaschade3987 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@Tonepusher I may have sounded harsh, but it's worth keeping in mind that in many cases, effects are 9/10 of a sound. Many vintage hardware synths sound really boring when played dry. Add some chorus and reverb and they sound like a million dollars.
      And the Behringer Vintage VST is free... That's a big plus, especially for people on a budget. You can get the TAL-Chorus-LX and TAL-Reverb-4 for free as well, and suddenly things sound a whole lot different.
      Will it ever sound analog? Probably not, but it can still sound good in a mix.
