Forza Motorsport 4 with Project Forza 4 mods on FullHD with all graphical candy enabled running on Xenia is far, far, FAR better than Forza Motorsport. I missed that game SO much.

Yeah, the track selection for the event list could’ve been a lot better. Also lap balancing - some races have way too many laps and others have way too little.

18:29 Wrong. The footage you just showed is a car from FM1 which was in FM4, same goes for the S15 silvia. They are dated car models still used to this day.

I played this game not long ago again after 13 years and I must say it really is much better than the newer titles. I actually had fun with it and felt I had to progress lol. Then again I am playing with the project forza plus mod

Its both impressive and boring, I only played it during train rides going to college before.

I’m still no where near into acquiring every car. Probably because I mainly focus on getting the 1 million credit race cars 😂. I think they did an amazing job at choosing what cars and tracks they put into the game. It’s crazy how much they fit into a UMD. It’s still one of my most played psp games even today.

You sure aston martin wasnt present in this game? I distinctively remember there being two aston martins, and one costing around 800k and one costing around 400k. Was this a different game? It included the same rotating shop model so i assume it must be this game

I played fm 6 and 7 after the New one. And I like them much more. Same is with horizon 5 and older ones. Loved 1,2 and 3. Can't bring myself to finish horizon 4. 😅

I loved the story line back in the day as it gave some purpose to what you were doing. It’s the one thing I have missed from modern games as for example project cars & GT your just aimlessly driving round in circles so you can level up and get a better car. If you were a real life racing driver there would be a story line, there would be drama & there would be setbacks!

This was my favorite game in the series. It was hard. You had to be in control of the car at all times. And you had to know your tune. I had to take time to learn to tune and made a lot of money making specific tunes for specific cars on specific tracks. But this was the game where I had the greatest crew of friends. On any night there was always at least 4 of us on. And we had a great time improving each other.

FM5 is the best Forza game after FM4. I know FM6 is good. FM7 did good also. BUT FM5 IS MY FAVORITE.

Gran Turismo PSP is still an underrated racing game despite there is no GRAN TURISMO career mode.

Lack of career was a big disappointment but once you got past that and made your own career mode the game was actually fun. Enough cars and tracks to have a different race and even if the random cars was considered a disadvantage for some I saw it as a good thing. Kept you from buying your dream car and then some and actually forced you to drive something different. Artificial scarcity ironically extended the games life to me. I will say after many hours on the PSP, I wish they replaced the license tests with a basic campaign and the cars at LEAST had some tuning like gear ratio’s or even a basic turbo upgrade.

The one main thing that I appreciate about gran turismo for the psp, is that devs gave you the ability to use your own custom music playlist. So even if the races felt kinda boring, I could at least jam to some tunes from Sega Rally, Daytona USA, Metropolis Street racer and a few other games with amazing soundtracks!

My least favorite installment of the series, sorry to piss off the hardcore fans of this game, but I did not have a good time with it. One of my issues, being the lack of a custom race mode in the same vein as Metropolis Street Racer is the most disappointing to me. Having only the campaign and time trial modes and that's it, is a recipe for disaster. The gameplay and graphics are still good though, but they catered way too much to the hardcore and online racing crowd, which i'm neither of. I wanted to get the most out of this game and its content rather than just living with the career and time trial mode, but i'm shocked to see that Bizzare could not put in that much player freedom for all. Definitely not for casual racers that just want to enjoy the cars and tracks any way they like in any game. Mediocre.

Despite people founding it lacking in the content area, is funny how they treat it as a bad racing game or a bad GT game when its the first GT to offer actual penalty for crashing into a wall and a IA that can actually detect you instead of blinding driving into you, thats why i also dont mind less racers since they feel a bit more real and their cars scale, while in previous games it was just or easy to win or impossible. It was something reviewers at the time were already complaining it and it took 5 games to fix it. I also feel the driving itself and camera to be surprisingly improved to GT4. Few people talk about it but for some reason they made the camera very stiff only on that game. Definitely doing the series slogan a favour imo. It may be more repetitive than previous games if you just expect a game like the others but the core gameplay is definitely way better. P.S: What is quite interesting is that people call many of the PSP GT content or changes to be limitations, but dont do justice to how powerful the PSP is even at the side of the PS2. I actually think a few of the graphical downgrades of GT4 (but still impressive) were more for the size of the UMD, as the PSP had a way higher CPU clock speed than the PS2 on its maximum level which this game uses it, maybe thats why driving and AI improved while the game is maintaining 60 fps. You dont need GPU to do that. Its clearly that GT PSP was as it this for the decision of the devs, not technical limitations as some say.

Wheelspins are a double-edged sword. They didn't really bother me in Horizon 2 because you only got them if you achieved something. However, with each subsequent game, the "achievements" have become increasingly easier and more irrelevant, so that in the end you get a wheelspin for every little thing you do.

Watched this review because I liked the content in terms of cars and tracks and it seem to run well on the PSP emulator. But why did they stop at 85% and did the unusual car buying experience and worst of all no career mode like in GT4? I could live fewer AI cars and no upgrade system but they could have done a nice progression scale around the 800 cars and 45 tracks in there to play around with :) So altough it sure is a technical achievement, it seems like getting boring fairly quick with not alot of replayability.

Gran Turismo PSP even 15 years later still impressive since it only used up 1687MB of PSP HDD plus it has 830 cars.

Bernese alps is ass, the lack of tracks is a damn shame, not a fan of all the fantasy tracks, they are goofy imo, no japan tracks made me buy a 360 again and get motoraport 4, its sooooooooo much better

I had this on the psp and wanted to like it but just couldn't since no career mode. Because of that I gave up on it pretty quickly 😢

Okay I'm like 50/50 on this game bc despite having so many cars which I think is very impressive for the time especially on a psp I believe it was the reason there wasn't a fully fleshed out carreer mode but I still enjoy the game despite its flaws.

This was one of precious few Mac-compatible racing titles after it was ported by Feral. I spent untold hours turning laps, collecting every single badge and trophy I could. It also drove quite well with my Logitech wingman GP, which made the racing line challenges much easier
