Very good review! I agree with you that PGR2 had the better career mode. I think the developers put a lot of effort into the online play of PGR3 with online career mode, online tournaments and Gotham TV etc. That might be why the career mode seems a little short. You can do platinum straight away if you buy the right car, the Ultima GTR in the B class is very good to do this as an example. Since you don't need a specific class to do any event, you can use this all the way through the career. Keep up the great work, I enjoyed this.
You only need the gtr to complete the game. This game was all about the online content. Like the OP said the weekly tournaments and Gotham TV were great times.
One of the rare examples when game released so close to new console, actualy looks amazing, showing what new thing is capable of. I also prefer PGR2 as a game but PGR3 is still decent. Didn't feel the same about Shift's mechanics though, which for me felt more like standard simcade, kinda like Toca/Grid. Really nice review :)
you probably dont care but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch all the new movies on instaflixxer. Have been watching with my girlfriend for the last few days xD
So the developers intended for people to play the game twice to go after Platinum medals? That explains a lot about their difficulty, but it also means if you try going after them immediately they become a test of patience. I should also note the DLC you mentioned (as well as the DLC for the next and last game in the series, PGR 4) can’t be purchased anymore. Speaking of PGR 4, I think that’s the better of the two PGR games on Xbox 360. It brings in a lot more common and classic cars into the fray, has more cities and tracks, a weather system, tweaked difficulty, revamped career mode, introduces motorcycles, refines the driving physics, and reworks the Kudos system into a currency.
Someone did say that it is possible to win on the hardest difficulty first time, but you have to pick something like the Ultima GTR. I should have added that DLC is no longer available. I realised after exporting the review that saying "those cars were only worth downloading if you were starting the career mode" wasn't enough as saying "were" implies that it's no longer available.
For a 360 launch title this looked absolutely amazing! I miss this series so much! 😊👍
Awsome review
Loved this on my brand new 360 way back when. GG's.

Thanks. I might put a correction about the difficulty in the comments when I get round to playing the game again.

Thanks. I completely forgot about Grid when I made the comparison.
