Carpinteria State Beach Camping
We stayed in Santa Rosa campground at full hookup premium campsite. All the campsites are close together even the premium campsites. However if you can open the back doors of your van like us you can have one amazing view. 🤗

Hurricane Hillary in August , 2023 brought torrential rainfall to Death Valley causing flooding. The park was closed for 2 months. When it reopened Badwater Basin is still flooded with water about 6-10” deep. It is a rare sight to see and even more special when we get to walk in the water that looks like a big lake. Thornhill Broome Campground can be booked on Reserve California. Look for Point Mugu and select Thornhill Broome. Even though it is right next to Highway 1, the traffic noise is not loud. I have a 2019 Interstate and the lounge doesn't exactly align with the 2 seats and the cushions are more firm than the lounge as well. We've done everything we can to create an even bed surface but had to resort to rigid foam pieces to create better alignment. This means that most of the time we leave our bed made. I have 2 pads that I lay side by side however, as you mentioned, they don't stay in place all that well because the bottom sheet moves. I'm wondering if the memory foam gives you additional support? I'm actually looking at spending the $400 for the Airstream Memory Foam mattress made for the interstate but it cannot be returned and I haven't been able to find any reviews. I'm wondering if you ever had a chance to sample theirs? 🙂
@@Shantamji Thanks for watching. We tried the 2”from Amazon but it wasn’t as comfortable as our King size that we have extra from home. My sister in law bought an 8” memory foam mattress from Costco for her AI24. Now she is very happy. It’s always in bed mode since they can use the table up front.
Great job and video! Had I watched your video, I would have tried to install the same spare tire carrier. Your installation looks neat and free of backup sensor interference. I’m currently using a carrier on a swing-away hitch adapter. The spare tire is covered by a soft cover. The drawback is backup sensor beeping sounds. However, it’s convenient to take down spare tire. It’s also easy for adding a cargo carrier without taking down the spare tire.

As someone that’s from Alaska and not a city slicker and I’m really a country boy there’s no way I can camp like that next to people and everywhere I camp here in Alaska. It doesn’t cost anything.
One of our bucket list trip is to camp in Alaska. So beautiful and peaceful 🤗

Great coverage of this location. We had heard it was pretty tight and you definitely confirmed that. Your rig is perfect for this. And great job getting that spot! @@bobanddangsjourney we definitely lucked out with that campsite for last minutes booking. We were planning to van life for a few weeks but then Central Valley is too hot…..Lol We ended up hotel life…and rental home life for the next 2 months. 😂😂Have a great summer camping 🤗

Yes parking lot camping. Since admin needed to book so many sites, they have to pick some place like this. Lol So much food left so I am sure no one mind if anyone wanted to join. Lol
ive camped here since 90s surf fishing with my dad......after social media this place is always booked year around now.....lol
Oh wow surf fishing. We saw some people doing that too. The campground is always booked especially on the weekends.

Hi Patricia, I am glad you enjoy our videos. I don’t have our van with us right now so I can’t measure the baskets. I bought them at Homegoods store. I was just lucky that they fit perfectly in the cabinets. I bought a few before I found these. 🤗

What brand of TV is that. Is it 12v or 110?
Hi Justin, the TV came with the van so I don’t know what brand it was since we took it off and replaced with a computer monitor to use as a TV. The new monitor is shorter so it is not sticking out like the original one.
Can you tell us where you got the dashboard covers for those storage areas? It is so sloppy looking now, an i want mine to look like yours. Also the toilet - where did you get it?

Thank you. I am glad you found the video helpful. I had it powder coated by a local powder coating company. They made 2 different swatches of silver paint and I just have to choose the closest one that matches with the van.

If you can share, what model of Starlink did you go with? What service? Are you able to use it while driving? I also want to do the install of the same A/C unit. I hate that amount of noise of the stock A/C that came with my Airstream Interstate.
Thank you for watching. We have the standard Starlink with the Roam plan $150/month. We turned the service as needed for 30 days. We tested that it works while driving but we are not supposed to use it per policy. The new AC is so much quieter and nice to have heating function too just in case our Truma heater breaks we still can use this AC for heat. 🤗

So maybe I should spend the additional $$ and go for the Mobile option (Flat High Performance) to be able to use it while moving. Thank you again for the videos. Very informative. The nespresso seems like a great machine and probably works for you cause you go on shorter trips (no big concern for storage) I have the nanopresso also made by the nespresso company. The pods will work in it as well. I grind my own beans with a handheld grinder. The nanopresso is manual and you just need boiling water. Very small so it will fit in a drawer of my future van.
Thank you for watching Amy, It is a very beautiful machine but it does take up a lot of space under the sink. Like you said since we only travel on short trips we don’t need that space for other things. As our travel needs changes we will probably have to get something smaller or have to drink instant coffee. 😂
Hello - I was wondering why you drilled and then used the Dremel to hollow out the area instead of cutting a hole large enough? It seems that a hole would be less work. Thanks.
Hi Scott, thanks for watching. Since the sink is so close to the panel I was just scared of drilling a big hole into the sink if I slipped the drill. Lol It would save me time just to drill a big hole at the beginning like you said if only I was confident enough. 😂

Love Paso Robles area - what a great place to host this event! That looks like a nice rv park - we usually harvest host in that region but will have to check that out. Your food looks awesome as always :) . This event looked really nice - and you got some nice swag too! Love the shots of the vans all rolling down the road together - well done. We have never been to that farmers market (didn't know about it ) - will have to check that out for sure next time we are there. Great video - you guys are always fun to watch :)

Did you strip lights have two magnetic pieces the light attaches to? Mine has two pieces you can screw in although i would prefer not to if possible.
The strip lights have magnetic strips so I didn’t have to use screws.
@@BamBamRVAdventures Were they the long strips with adhesive? Looks like the adhesive will fail in high temps.
@@jeffzerbe5623 yes the adhesive backing failed twice on 2 of the 3 strips. They are still on right now after last year’s summer heat. They failed after 2 weeks of installation but after the second time they stayed on good. 🤷♀️🤞
What Chassis battery terminal do you connect the Aux wire to? Does the wire go under the battery lid since assume no other entry into the battery compartment.
Yes it goes under the battery lid based on my memory,

What precautions need to be taken when connecting to the positive battery terminal? Overall 12V safety precautions to take?
I think that it might be prudent to the negative terminal first and then after connecting the positive side, you can reconnect the negative post.
