      I have been very fortunate to have been given lots of Smokey personal hand tools and all the Hot Vapor engines. Thanks to my friend Tony Allers who was Smokey’s friend and a friend of the family. Trish has also been very kind to us. If we can keep the piston from rocking in the bore we can keep the ring end gap thight and have less blow by. The piston rocking in the bore is also wasted energy. 👍

    How does knurling a piston create more power exactly? I would think that it would cause more damage than anything.

    • @MrDanielSoliz
      @MrDanielSoliz 16 часов назад

      Doesn’t do any damage to the pistons or the bore. These day we use coating on the piston to achieve the same effect as knurling a piston. We we can keep the piston from rocking we can keep the ring end gap thighter. Less blow by. More power.

    Smokey didn't just use a carburetor but a whole system. He first use the water from the cooling system to help heat the water to engine temperature of 220* and was the first stage of the heating system The Second stage of heating was at the Turbocharger were it was heated by using exhaust before going into the intake manifold. The 3 stage of heating was done in the Intake manifold and rase the airfuel charge to 440* before being induced into the cylinder. It was said it took 20 minutes before the air/fuel charge would separate. But in the normal English The Air/Fuel will separate faster than you can Puch a stop watch. I think the nomad Temp of the intake manifold is only around 150* but recheck the Data as it's been years since i have read the Original story in popular science or popular Mechanics. There was another story of a guy called Tom Obga ? Spelling. In El Paso Texas were he was pulling gas fumes from the gas tank in a ford LTD if i remember correctly He said at first the car's MPG were not All that impressive and the car would stall as well. He said things change one day after he put his hand on the gas and found it Ice cold. Witch is one of the laws in Physics because the Air pulled through the gas cause it to Evaprat and cool down the Gas. He installed a heating unit kind of like a heater core and said that change everything because now the fuel will be heated to the cooling system of the engine. When you look at the first photos of the car's vapor system the pipeling is coming out the Gas door and along the side of the car. In his later work the system is run under the car and the carburetor was removed and only hot gas vaper was getting to what would be the throttle valve. You can look up his story about him and people who said they went on a test drive and got a 100 MPG in the big Ford Thanks for posting you never know when you are going to spare an idea
