    Agree 100%. I never use silicone sealant anywhere near gasoline. Gasoline and silicone don't get along. Gas causes the silicone to swell and I have seen it completely block an intake port. About the only place I do use silicone is to seal the ends of the intake. Everywhere else the original paper or cork gasket works perfectly' I also have been known to use a little aircraft sealant as well to help hold gaskets in place. My kids call me an old fogey but my engines don't leak.😉 Trick always use distilled water in your cooling system with the antifreeze and the intake won't corrode like that.

      That sounds more like something I would do.😞
