Review: Was the H&Y RevoRing variable step filter adapter worth the YouTube hype?
Просмотров 6 тыс.3 года назад
The RevoRing from H&Y Filters was one of those products that got RUclips buzzing. It the the final answer in filters? Maybe not for some, but its versatility makes it worth a look. I got my attention and I ordered one. It arrived quite a bit later. Here's my unbiased take after a few days of use.

I've a number of external SSDs slowdown to far slower speeds than they are capable of. Here's an example of an SSD that was operating about 5 times slower than it had been and the super easy tip of what I did to fix it.
Time-lapse of sunrise over Charleston's iconic Pineapple Fountain

This turned out to be no so bad of a first crack at a time-lapse of sunrise over the iconic Pineapple Fountain Charleston, S.C. With the camera on a tripod, I set it to capture a frame very few seconds. The exposure for each frame was 2 seconds, f/11 at ISO 200. I used nearly 200 images for this 8 second clip.
Blooming myrtle trees in historic Charleston, South Carolina (Fujifilm X-T4/18-55mm kit lens)
Просмотров 1003 года назад
It's no secret the coastal city of Charleston, South Carolina is a beautiful historic destination. Even while summer weather brings uncomfortable temperatures and humidity, the blossoming crepe myrtle trees make it worth a walk or bicycle ride around town. In the South, "crepe" is preferred, but "crape" is accepted! All except. couple of scenes were shot with my Fujifilm X-T4 at 60 fps and the ...

I have used 3 of these drives I have used for over3 years now and love them works great on all my Mac’s fast speeds. The Sandisk drives are junk, but love the x8’s
Is the sandisk card reader compatible with new iphone and ipad with type c port? I want to transfer pics from camera sd card to my iphone
Thanks Matthew for your help. I found 122 GB of cashed stuff I have not had on this iPad for months! I too was out of space for my project & could not figure it out. I have done this a few years back but could not have done it without your help!
Subscribed! Hope of learning/finding Medium format stuff also about modern day GFX 50S (II) with Fuji or Canon adapted lenses on your channel, as I think you're a gifted teacher in explaining things passionately in this field of medium and large format cameras, Gogh to think I thought a few years ago these were on the verge of almost getting forgotten...
Nice video! Reminds me of when I was a student, 20 years ago, I bought a Mamiya C330 for almost nothing. I then learned what a Twin Lens Reflex was. My lens plate was a 65mm and the shutter did whatever it wanted, some exposes it helped and corrected my wrong exposures, while other times it faultered my otherwise correct exposure. So it was a love and hate relation but it opened up the doors to medium format and I ended with the very reliable Rollei 6008 Integral II.
Excellent video (also watched your previous excellent video that you made before this one) +1 Question: if for whatever reason one would wish to charge dual batteries SLOWLY overnight (battery life extension and no haste) on a say 12 Watt phone charger, would that overheat the phone adapter since it's NOT rated 30W+ as per Fuji recommendation? OR would that just be fine without overheating the phone adapter and just simply draw 12W and no more without overheating? For example an official safe Apple 12W phone charger with USB to USB-C cable.
DO YOU EVER HAVE TO MOVE FILES ONE AT A TIME?
this should come as default, pain in the culo
Vertical crop for me, thank you for sharing!
Thank you
The manual is a bit confusing in that it refers to AE/AF , rather than just AE. Does this affect AF at all? Only if the camera is set to AF-C AND AE-L button is set to AE+AF? I have the AE-L button set to just AE, and this ‘toggle’ setting doesn’t *seem* to affect AF , which is what I want, but just wondered if my observation is accurate
I was looking for this when using back button focus and figuring out I can’t hold down two buttons at once.
terrible product. why are you hedging.
thank you!!
Thanks anyone tried these on iPad Pro?
The Anker has worked fine with my iPad Pro. It’s why I bought it!
So I have a 2018 15 inch fully maxed out MacBook Pro with the i9 processor and the pro Vega 20 graphics card. Ever since I updated it to the Mac OS seqouia beta update, all my usb type c adds and hdds all have a listed read and write speed of around 30mbps per second when tested in blackmagic. Why the heck is this happening. I’ve tried everything like switching cables and using powered dongles and stuff. Nothing works. How do I fix this??
I wonder if it is reindexing them? Although, it could be an issue with beta that might be worth reporting.
Very interesting. I am a computer scientist and I would believe that a card reader slot should be faster, since there are more pins to connect directly to the sdcard what would make reading and writing faster. Usb has only two wires for all data transfer. The other two wires are only for power. So, if a USB appears to be faster than a sdcard slot with a lot of connection pins, there must be a serious problem with hardware or software design, even on a microprocessor level (bad decisions about interruptions and data bus usage).
Thank you!
Mine is inside my PC so that's a bit different
1/5th NOT 5x
You’re lucky it even has any speed. My crucial x8 2tb has had a speed of 50mbps since the beginning.
can you please help and advice how can i assign automode scene selection to a button in fujitsu xs20?
I found this very interesting and helpful. Thank you
My 1TB X8 runs around 750-800MB/s with my laptop. It gets around 550MS/s on the desktop I use it with, but it's the desktop holding it back, because it's transferring from a SATA SSD. I have a feeling it's one of the more recent models. I'm sure it would be close to a GB/s from one of the NVME drives, but I haven't tested it.
You genius. I have no idea why this worked but it did. I have two small internal SSDs in small caddies. Wanted to try in new MBP using USB-C. One was as fast as usual, c.250 MB/s, the other had dropped to less than 10. Left the slow one connected for 10-15 mins and it's back over 250. Cheers for that. Ganpati bless.
Well, mine are always connected and always on and this has grown to a permanent problem that neither shutting down nor recovery and restore - nothing fixes. I’d love to know how if the dock is always on and the Max never sleeps this is supposed to help. So enjoy it while it lasts, and long may it last for you, best, truly.
DO NOT USE THE USB C TO A ADAPTER. Using the usb c to a adapter included slows it down to 40mbs whereas without it increases to 1gbs.
Big thanks for your excellent video/comparison Matthew very much appreciated…ktf
Are you planning a series on LumaFusion?
I just started to use a grey card for street photography and this was exactly what I was looking for
Ah another clickbait video. So, there is nothing wrong with the SSD. It's just that PARTICULAR PIECE that was defective.
Man, consumers shouldn't have to work so hard. Great video.
I was having trouble with slow ssd intermittently. Discovered the usb c cable was better flipped over. Don’t know why but was 10x faster.
how do i make it faster or instant?
Thank you this content is very usefull I have a Window pc with integrated sd reader and a ipad gen 11 (I guess) i am updating my pc to a new one still windows but without micro sd port. I normally read the photos directly from the ram Before copying them to the ssd so i don't make my pc full of something that i may not need. 2 questions: -is the usb-c as fast as the one attached to the motherboard of my 4-5 year old window: MSI PS63 Modern 8RC so that I can open it directly? -is the Apple usable on windows pc? Thanks Again, Max
My dual charger only charges one battery and doesn't even witch to the other battery once one is full. only if I pull out the charged one then it will charge the other battery. Is there something wrong with mine?
Having the same problem
@@ohelocorrea7376 i figured it out. You need to ise a high quality usb cable. Comes with the camera. And the fujifilm charging block. Also comes with the camera

I purchase two 2Tb crucial X8 drives and they are utter shit. Having accidentally unplugged them from my iMacs without un-mounting first they then fail and can only be read and not written too or anything saved unless they are reformatted. Total waste of money and very annoying.
Straight to the point thank you
I got the pro versions and they are night and day, way better!, solid 980MB and 1100MB tests
Does it work in conjuction with a UV or filter in front of the lens then a revo ring with another filter attached to the revo?
Helpfull tip I set up my xr3 with it. Seems useful unless preserving the highlights gets difficult.
It looks like you also lock focus when you do this. Can you lock exposure without locking focus. On Canon you can use *HI which will lock only the exposure
Hey, if you’d be interested in selling your camera here I am in the market! Just thought I’d put that on here. Nice video too, liked the fence shot. Thanks
Hey, I have the same issue where it says LumaFusion is using 77 GB for me, but once I enter the cleanup tab in the app all the cleanup choices say zero KB and I can’t find a large one with all the GBs
Same here
The charge time on this camera is archaic. Can we use a more powerful charger (30W) to decrease the charge time while the battery is inside the camera?
Thank for sharing your experience, it hel me alot to avoid this model.
Its because the actual flash storage is around 50M/s write speed. The only reason you get higher is because it has a front end cache that accepts data at 500Mb/s until its full and it dribbles it into the actual flash. I don't know how big that cache is, but diskmark can probably tell you if you increase the write set until it drops off a cliff. I think its probably somewhere around 4Gb. The same is true for all consumer flash but most of the time you won't notice because its well implemented and the large flash is usually 150Mb/s or more so its far less of an issue. But if you try to copy a 100Gb video file you'll see that you get 500Mb/s and then it will stop for 10 seconds then copy at 100Mb/s for another 5 seconds then stop for 10 seconds and it will do this repeatedly until the end of the copy. What I found for the X8 was that it seems to get worse as the drive ages and I don't know why that should be the case, or why a replacement should behave better - although we have caught manufacturers sending models out for review which are much faster than the ones everyone buys later on.
so, what was the issue causing this problem you had?
I'm seeing a lot of complaints in the comment section about the X8. Does anyone know if the X9 Pro fares better
My crucial X8 2tb runs like garbage. It barely gets over 50MB/s for 98% of the time. It only hits the 900+MB/s for the first 10 seconds. I've only had this problem with Crucial's X series SSDs. My sandisk extreme pros do not have this problem.
