If is just for storing music and not for logging around to places to DJ live, is it worth buying the crucial 4tb x6 portable ssd?

I haven’t used the X6, but it seems to be well regarded.

Why not just use the data from the SSD vs playing with the speed of the ipad’s SSD? just edit from the drive through the port. Do not transfer it to or from the internal SSD. That will show us the value of the lightning port.

Hi, Mark. Yes, you are right that would be the most efficient way if you do not have many projects. With multiple, even a TB gets tight pretty quickly. But to your point, not everyone will need external storage. Thank you for taking the time to post.

Matthew , what was the cable used with the IPad Pro ? I was unaware a portable SSD could be used with the iPad Pro .

I used the USB-C cables included with each SSD. The SSD will appear in the Files app. It was a game changer for me when Apple added that.

You’ll need this Apple adapter and I think you to have the power plugged in at the same time while you are connected to the SSD. Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter. store.apple.com/xc/product/MK0W2AM/A
