Thanks for making this - excellent work. I am forever trauma-bonded to this game. It is in my top 5 of all time. You really put your finger on a factor I hadn't thought about, regarding why this game means so much to me: creativity in the face of a soul-crushing society is in every layer of this game's DNA. (And it has so very many layers) As someone who writes fiction for its own sake, I didn't realize Signalis was speaking to me in that way. I come out of every playthrough feeling a different mix of awe, sadness, loss, and fascination. I am sure I'll be back for loop #5 soon enough.

Haven't started yet, but this popped up as the recommended video after another long form signalis video, and i can already tell it's gonna be a banger. Do you have any advice on overcoming fear? It feels like there should be a method to it. A skill I can somehow build up to the point where it finally works. I am really curious to see the rest of it, but got stuck in the game, mentally unable to open a door to an already visited corridor.

Regarding your discussion on art, there's an interesting phenomenona going on right now that mirrors the dynamics of other past fading cultures. In history as the majority of art is confined further by the cultural authorities to become cruder and repetitive, like a dying tree sending off seeds for the future small branches of radical artist expression in defiance of cultural norms are created. Once freed of cultural control and completely without mainstream support, experimentation is ironically easier if more costly. Often these become the genesis of new art forms that carry into the future and inspire new genres while the old mainstream ones fade away. I exoect the sameness of mindless gaming and AI creations will cause the lowest common denominator now enthralled by it to grow jaded and drift away, bottoming out the mainstream gaming market. And Dragon Age... ...well two out of three isn't bad. :)

An interesting observation another content creator - I forgot who - made was that in the Artifact ending, when the camera pans to show the six pillars from the top the "Elster" slumped beneath a pillar on the upper right side appears to be Isa in her school uniform. Did an Isa shade (for lack of a better word) manage to make one of the time loop runs instead of Elster?

Halfway through the video, Mend wasn't initially part of Buddy's moveset when Joyful first released. That must've been an update addition. Originally, you'd have so few healing items that you would inevitably have to start taking Joy by the handful to keep her alive. It also fit thematically because she's popping these things like skittles and slaughtering men that she has no right standing up to. It fits very well with the ending of even her becoming a joy mutant because her entire goal-her fixation-is to be the best and rule. And she can.

Hello, i wanted to say i really enjoyed your video. i had to watch it over 11 days but it was worth it I don't know how much time it took you but thank you really for making this video. I've never been too much in the community but i found it really interesting, and seeing the username of everyone i dueled over the last 2 years into these dramas was pretty funny. And that conclusion was very well written. I've always defended tb throughout the years because the game was fun, but the last months, because of thes events, i can't even enjoy the game anymore. Also concerning Friebxll at 1:09:01 , funny thing is that i won in a ft5 and he said something like "we are gonna send hackers to rdm you" cuz he coudn't handle defeat Anyways thank you for making this video and putting all that work.

I have watched both your Lisa videos twice each I believe. I was so stoked to see you had made a video on Signalis as well. You see, I bought Signalis this Friday with the Steam Summer sale discount, and quickly realized I would be dedicating my entire weekend to it. I completed the game om Saturday and got the Promise ending. I interacted with every NPC I found, explored every room, read every note I could find. The game was never so difficult that I felt stuck, but still so satisfying to play. I played in a way to conserve ammo and healing as much as possible, meaning I often ran around with very little health, but I'm glad I did because I don't think I would feel satisfied with any other ending. Also after the fake ending, I had the resources to just blast everything, which feels very fitting to how I felt at that point in the game. I was gonna keep my promise no matter the cost. After a short break of contemplating what I had just experienced, I opened the game again and began a second playthrough. I had no clue what the secret ending was about so I wanted to find out for myself. After obtaining all achievements in the game, I immediately said to my friend "time for me to look for a 2 hour video essay on this game." Thank you so much for creating this beautiful video.

Hoping you still reply to comments here because I have a question. I like this game in concept but every experience I've had with it so far has been fruitlessly running to MG fire. I don't know if I somehow Ultra Instinct-ed away from every coordinated action but I never managed to feel like part of anything and just felt like I was wasting my side's resources. Every map I joined was stuck with the lines not moving and no real push from either side What do?

I'm almost 3 hours in. Wild stuff! You put more effort into 10 minutes of this than I have with anything in my entire life haha I had no idea there was this dark underbelly of organized weirdos in chiv. I mean, besides the surface level cesspool of game chat. Hunting people down is lame af. I now remember someone saying they were being hunted and was in discord with the person hunting them/DDoSing whichever server they were in. I have like 700 hours over the last year but I'm a TO player. I've actually come across a lot of these guys. I'm now remembering things people have said in chat that puts things in context. Also, I was surprised to see my player name show up in this video...and not in a good light haha. This makes sense now when people were defending me as the "good" one. Maybe that was you, not sure if you play NA servers at all. EDIT: To clarify, someone has the same player name as me

I remember when I first moved to Chiv 2 from Mordhau because I thought it was somehow *less* blatantly racist and homophobic. Have you considered playing fighting games Rubric? Theres a similar back and forth to Chiv depending on the game, and often have similar rock/paper/scissors elements to how chiv uses strike/jab/kick, with wrong guesses being punished. Hope you find another slashy slashy outlet soon
