1st, haven't watched this show and probably never will but might consider it based on the well presented Sapphic relationship
summerhouse to me is a lot more realistic then the new series in terms of aesthetic and character stories. I find it surprising you dislike it so much as it is definitely more raw and natural in my opinion. I understand what you mean about the child actors but I find some of actors in the new series quite cringe and forced to act a type of stereotype that is unrealistic to the actual reality of these people. The best representaion of this type of enviorment is the two films Kidulthood and Adulthood. They are the realist British films that reperesent this type of living.
I disliked Summerhouse because I really thought it wasn't that interesting. There's an entire section I cut about Summerhouse where I spoke about how uninteresting Sully was, how weirdly written Dushane was, and how there was zero intrigue or climax to anything. The new seasons of Top Boy are way better. Never been invested in a show as much as I was for S2 of the new Top Boy.
This is an insane opinion. The first two series were easily better on all fronts and had a more low level dealers feel rather than the normal kingpin feel of most crime shows. Also them always being in the pressure cooker owing money and living in desperation. The new series is incredibly phoney feeling with overpowering slang, contrived meandering plots that go nowhere, and characters that serve to act out unsubtle 1 dimensional actions. The new series has been so diluted that it barely registers

The original summerhouse series is so much better than the new one. The Netflix one is still good, but the original one is so much more gritty and seems realistic.
