Temecula valley Toyota is a shady dealer, we had a deal for a 4Runner TRD pro, waited 6 weeks and day of delivery they hit me with a 12K lift kit…..needless to say, no deal and I moved on.

This is 2" of lift? I have the same tire, but I'm worried it's gonna look small once I lift the truck...tho I'm stopping at 1.75~2.0" of lift. I'm installing SPC UCA's so I do think moving to 34" is doable, tho truck already needs gears.

Great information on the 3gen Tacoma but not much on 2nd taco 6sd.

Shock absorber seats c’mon now really? Overkill 😂. Back seat passenger space is much smaller than 3rd gens 😂

I have a 2022 3rd Gen Tacoma. I have my truck tuned by OTT and after the tune. My truck feels way better, drives better responds to throttle much better.

If you wouldn't mind, do an interstate/freeway run. I'm curious how the 5:29s do running 70-80 with your (265/75/16?) tires. See a lot of vids with 33s/35s. Not many with the slightly larger than stock combo.

Dude you’re gonna cost me so much money… 😂 Never really gave any serious thought to a tune or re-gear. Now both are sounding pretty good. Still need to talk with a tuner on what exactly the tune does for a MT. Seems the biggest advantage for an auto is the shift points. Does it cost the same for a MT since it’s not giving me the same functions? Etc.. Re-gear is sounding more and more like the way to go. Especially with the added weight of the 33’s and shell. Does the company you used do an exchange? I mean my stock gears barely have 2k miles on them. Got some homework to do. Great vid man.. Was looking forward to your update 👍

Seems like unless you are lucky enough to get a truly custom tune, it’s not worth the trouble.

Glad you are getting the updated tune in order to take full advantage of the gears we recently installed and to get things to sync up with the gear ratio since the ECU gets confused trying to read wheel speed and adjust shift points when things get out of whack. I can 🎯 over 70mph in 2nd ⚙️... Gearing is VERY long in 2nd & 3rd ⚙️... I don't usually rev it that high but i wanted to kno where the rev limiter was at. It's BETTER after the OTT tune tho i have the '22 TRD off-road manual transmission

Does it fit the 2024 Taco?

About a month ago I got a pretty good deal on a '22 TRD Sport double cab 4x2 fully loaded with the premium and technology packages, 25k miles, first owner had it serviced religiously every 5k miles, for $36,800, and a lifetime powertrain warranty was included in the price! Put 10k down and financed the rest. Wanted to get a low mileage used one since I foolishly didn't buy a new one when I had the chance and I'm not interested in the 4th Gen. Already had the AWE true dual exhaust installed(which sounds amazing btw with no drone) and just had the OTT tune done 2 days ago which absolutely transforms the way the truck drives and I highly recommend it to anyone on the fence about doing it, worth every penny! I also added a drop in AFE high flow dry air filter, I blacked out the Taco and V6 badges as well as the Tacoma stamped on the tailgate. I'm also installing full LED taillights with a black housing and smoked lens and Tri-LED headlights with a black housing because I can't stand the chrome on the stock lights. Also had it ceramic coated. Love this truck more every day and I'm never getting rid of it!

I will NEVER buy a $60K Tacoma. I may pay $40K for a loaded 4x4 with leather, if they offer a standard cab with a 6' bed. But until then, it will probably be a NISSAN Frontier for $15,000 less money, with leather! SHOVE IT TOYOTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully you'll see this, I know its an older video... but did Jason say why he wanted to use 75-140W in the rear differential over the normal 75-90W? I'm about to do my first 30k service and I want to make sure I'm getting the right stuff.

If I read the screen right you're on 31.64" tires? 265/75/R16? Just curious, I'm on the same size if so with plans to ultimately move up to 33" but not 35" cause I don't wanna mess with CMC and chopping up the truck. I'm considering SPC UCA's to move the tire forward, in theory set up right with a 2" lift that probably won't rub. I'm asking to get an idea of how bad it is with 5.29's until one moves up to 33" then again we're talking 4~5% or so maybe a 100 RPM difference at 60 MPH. I'm leaning to 4.88, truck has about 750 lbs on it when loaded up for camping with bed cover, RTT, armor, boxes etc.

Only thing that makes me queasy is guys who use an impact to tighten every single bolt. These things have torque specs for a reason. I'm struggling to find a place in the Bay Area to regear with. I got a quote the other day of almost $2500 for labor alone which seems kinda batshit. I'm used to people saying they got it done for $1500 an axle including parts.

That's really the right method for chamging the fluid. There is a process for getting the fluid up to temperature, then remove the fluid check plug, let it drain, then you are done. If you follow the process outline in this video, your tranny will have too much fluid. There are a lot of tramsmission specialists and master Toyota techs who claim you should not do a flush, especially on old transmissions because you need some debris/friction material in the fluid to keep the old clutches working. If you do a flush on an old transmission, it will start slipping.
