  • I bought this TRD Lift Kit over a year ago for my 3G Double Cab Long Bed Tacoma. When I purchased this lift kit I was told my truck wasn't compatible and that to get the kit I would have to get it installed through the dealership.. 1 year later here are my thoughts and tips to get the most out of the TRD Lift Kit on your Tacoma.

    +1 for long bed +1 for oem. I’m real tempted to do this as well. Slight lifts makes it pop. Your truck looks good. Thanks for the review

    Yes the G3 Tacoma will hold its value a Lot more than the newer Taco’s. It is the last generation of a true Tacoma and reliability.
    They will be sought after more so than any other Tacoma.
    I only drive about 5K - 6K miles per year, so in 20 years I’ll have less than 130K miles on my 23 Tacoma.

    I purchased and had the dealer install the OEM lift when I bought my truck. It has been on for 8 months; love it so far. I drove the truck for a month before they installed the lift. I feel increased stability in the ride front and back; but especially from the rear.

    Very very nice video! Same goes with me I LOVE oem parts and like to be a “oem guy” lol. They’re way more money but it’s worth it.
    Also every time I go in the dealership for maintenance or anywhere I get offers left and right pretty much what it’s worth or a little more. I don’t regret getting my lunar rock 2023 4x4 truck 😍😍

    Thanks for answering my question on your previous install video yesterday. I would be curious how many people have the TRD factory lift installed and end up having vibrations. Toyota isn't upgrading CV needle bearings and they don't provide axle shims or carrier bearing shims either, so I wonder why people aren't experiencing vibrations with their 2/1 lift. I can't seem to find an answer to this question. Even on forums I've searched. I've "heard" people comment that the TRD OEM lift is a rebranded Bilstein 5100 kit which kind of makes sense. The 5100 kit install instructions make mention it is also not compatible on access cab trucks or long bed trucks. Anyway, great video, truck looks awesome. I've got a 23 Lunar Rock TRDOR with a Bilstein 5100 set up all around and the ICON 1.5" AAL i just haven't installed it yet. Creating potential vibration issues in a brand new truck with 5000km on it has made me nervous. lol.

    I was able to find the trd lift kit, minus the grill, I blacked out my stock OR grill anyways. It was used with 10,000miles and got it for $600! Put it on 2 weeks ago and love it. My truck is a 23 OR double cab short bed in ice cap btw. Eventually I’ll replace the rear leafs but happy with the block for now.

  • @Doc1855
    @Doc1855 4 месяца назад +3

    I had the choice of a slightly used (6K mile) Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab with the 6’ bed, leather, sunroof, JBL stereo, LED lights, etc, (OR) a new 24 Tacoma.
    Yes the 23 was a bit cheaper, but I bought it because it has the naturally aspirated 278hp 3.5 V6.
    The 3.5 V6 is a very well designed V6 that has proven itself to be Durable and Reliable.
    No gasoline turbocharged engine will ever last as long as a naturally aspirated engine.
    So what if I get 1 less mpg.
    Toyota truck buyers generally buy their trucks for reliability, dependability and longevity.
    Those 5’ beds are worthless in my opinion. If the Tacoma would have been equipped with a 7’ bed, I would have bought it over the 6’ bed.
    The very first thing I’m going to add to the rear suspension is to install adjustable air suspension so I can haul more weight in the bed.
    We work our pickups and the Tacoma is the most reliable midsized pickup on the planet.
    If you’re spending upwards of $50K for a truck, you might as well buy the best bang for your buck.

    • @westcoasttaco
      @westcoasttaco  4 месяца назад +1

      Well said! I think the majority of people that are really excited about the 4th gen are people who like to trade their trucks in every couple of years. People that are looking to keep a truck for life are grabbing the 3rd gen’s. 👍🏼
