Hi Pete and thanks for your videos. Just one question, how much is the air consumption of the 717 in litre per minute at around 1.8 bar? Infinite thanks again!
Hi mate, at that pressure I would guess it's around 340lpm, so 12 cfm, but I use it for clear now at 1.5 bar and get superb results, at that it using around 10 cfm, so 280lpm
It's hard to believe how beautiful your finish is. Being as I'm building motorcycles here in Nevada, I would be happy with half of your finish if I could lay down the base coat. What a fantastic video and thank you Pete! Oh, I had mentioned on another of your videos, that I had ordered a 717 from AliExpress for $217. I had said "if it actually arrives". I had been waiting since 12/20/24 and they finally told me to cancel then reorder. Right! Total bullshit and I canceled but did not reorder. I bought one from Amazon today and it will be here tomorrow at a cost of $300. Well worth it. I purchase all my motorcycle parts online for years and only had one minor problem. No more AliExpress for me. Thank you again my friend and I should send you a picture of my RD 400, not sure if I can do that.
Hi Richard, That has happened to me recently, but it's best not to cancel the order. The seller wants you to, but don't, Aliexpress will give you your money back no problem, but the seller gets a black mark, which really harms them, of you cancel, it doesn't harm there ratings at all. Would you not have been better off ordering it directly from Porphis? They have a retail store and had a black Friday deal, which was really good. Well, at least you should be ok now, 👍
That gun also has the air adjustment on the air inlet !
Hi Mate, Yes, indeed, just like the DV1 has
Love Devilbiss guns, they feel nice and spray nice. Good review here, thanks.
Hi buddy, thank you 👍
Which gun is better for clear on parts max size of a car door? w300wb or lph-300? Which one has less overspray, better for blending?
Hi buddy, there is so little between them. The LPH300 can run at a slightly lower pressure, so a little less overspray, both brilliant little guns
Hi buddy. Can you also make a video for comparing dv1 vs meiji vs ani black ?
Hi buddy, 3 is difficult to do, as I would ideally like 3 panels the same to be comparable, I know which one would win, though 😉 😂
@@peteshobbies5383 which one ? dv1 ?
I'm curious to know how the gun handles a narrow fan for tight spots. I bought a SRI knockoff and it sprays well, but adjusting the fan from wide to very narrow is not smooth.
Hi buddy, There is a reason why manufacturers make so many different tip sizes, it's because when you turn a fan in, it doesn't perform as well, as when the fan is wide open, smaller tip equal smaller patterns, for the most part anyway. It's something I mention sometimes in my videos. A better quality gun will normally give you better results when the pattern is closed up, but it's still a compromise
Great video Pete, I learn something from each video. Is there any problem if I leave the pot installed, put in some thinner, hook up to air and shoot it out? Then disassemble and clean it. Likely another very stupid question as usual! Thank you Pete, much appreciated.
Hi Richard, that's exactly what I do, leave it all together, run some thinners through it, I just let it run out, so no air but air is fine, then take it apart. It helps keep the cleaning thinners cleaner for longer in the cleaning container 👍
Is this the same exodus luma ?
Yes, buddy, exactly the same 👍
@ Thanks buddy. And you compare dv1 with ANI 200 black ? I have dv1 base and clear
@hasmiksargsyan800 The ANI is as good as the DV1, it's not made as well, but it is much cheaper
Hi Pete ive got myself one of those updated Areopro r500 (A610) i want to use for primers and recently purchased a 100litre 15cfm (12FAD) compressor i was wondering what a good basecoat / clearcoat gun would pair with it. I was really gutted to find out that something like a DV1 needs ~14cfm and my compressor i just spent a lot on probably wont cut it. I know you have a similar set up and was wondering if you've ever tried to do a big job like a respray on a car if its even possible with a couple stops or just go a different gun route to match my compressor set up.
Hi Mate, There are plenty of guns that will run off your compressor. The DV1s use of air does depend on what cap you use, I actually have two compressors like your's linked up, so, if needed they run together but you should still have enough for many good spray guns, just stay away from true HVLP. What sort of budget are you thinking? I guess if you are thinking of a genuine DV1, then the budget is good ?
Yes ive got a decent budget i was after something that i could base and clear with. Ive just looked up the specs for the DV1 it says using the DV1-B-PLUS air cap is 10.5 SCFM and the C2 plus is 11.3CFM would that be a good combo for my compressor? man its hard picking a spraygun.
@TheMasterKelly To be honest with you, I wouldn't buy a DV1, If you want a good all round gun, look at the Meiji Finer Core, Iwata Kiwami4 WB or W400 WB or the Porphis PRD717, all within budget and capable of great finishes with both clear and base coats
@@peteshobbies5383 Awesome Pete thanks for the recommendations
@TheMasterKelly You're welcome, buddy, I have both DV1 guns, base, and clear, and there are better guns for that sort of money and often cheaper as well, cheers 👍
Thank you Pete! This is exactly what I need to practice. As a beginner, I really didn't know what all the knobs controlled. I knew what they were, but not how the different adjustments changed the pattern. I was just tweaking this and that with no idea what I was looking at. Again thank you so much!
You're welcome Richard, good to know it's been some help 👍
Thanks for the info on panel prep and flowcoat grits! As someone still relavtively new to paint and body work I'm always picking up useful info from the narration.
Hi buddy, thank you, I always used to use 600, and I know many use 800, but I experimented with the different grits, and 400 is as good but definitely better for adhesion, It's also what I use on headlights now. Again, the finish is just as good, cheers mate 👍
great video pete 👍👍👍👍
Cheers Grant, Thanks mate 👍
Is the ws400 and Ls400 that different? Can I use a Ls400 for clear
Hi buddy, yes, they are. You can use the LS400 for clear. It is quite slow but still good 👍
Hi Pete, I do like your comparison videos as you always put 2 like for like guns together as you have here, the Saigaole did seem to be the better gun here but it's a shame the tip needed to be so tight to get a seal as this is something that would bug me and it's the only thing that I don't like about my WS400 Series 2 having to tighten it up so much just to get the split tip to line up with the airhorns🙄 I found the same with my R500 that you need around 35 psi to get the best out of the gun for clear but it's a good basecoat gun and I found that it also lays WoW primer really nice. It's also a shame the some people on here say it doesn't use much air I think you are right in saying the the people reviewing this gun probably have a big compressor which will run them fine and just quote the spec from the gun saying it only uses 4 CFM but it's more like double that🤨🤠 Cheers Pete👍
Hi John, Yeah, I do try to put things up against each other that are relevant in some way. I do get asked to do some rather odd comparisons, which just wouldn't be relevant to most people's thinking. I can only think that's the case. People read the specs and assume they are correct and won't notice the difference between 4 cfm and 8 cfm on a system supplying 40 cfm of free air, although, if you are passing this information on, then you should make an attempt to quantify it first. Cheers, mate, BTW, that General Motors Orange you used is a dead ringer for the custom Orange I order in, so I'm very happy 😊, cheers mate 👍
It's a shame they don't take more time to actually check the CFM of the gun when they review it but on the other hand you don't really expect the manufactures figures to be wrong but this seems to happen more and more these days🤷♂ I'm pleased that the GM Orange is what you are looking for as it must be cheaper to mix your own rather than buy it in ready mixed, finding colours for you that I didn't know you were looking for is all part of my service👌😎😂cheers Pete👍
@JohnWD40TC02 Yeah, I thought it looked similar, so I made some up, sprayed it on some spray out cards and also painted some with a brush. Sounds odd, but the brush strokes show up different light effects, I find it a good addition to seeing if something is the same, and it's exactly the same. This custom colour has been out at least 7 years and the GM for only 2020, so I'm not sure who copied who 🤣😂, cheers mate 👍
Muy buenas smigo sinceramente cual cres que sea mejor de las dos ?
Hi mate, if I had to choose one, I would go with the Sagola, it's no better than the Walcom, but it is as good and is better made, they are also sometimes cheaper, but that depends where you live,
Gracias por contestar amigo quería comprar una de las dos pistolas y tenia duda .. creo que es lo que me dices esta mejor construida la sagola o eso me parece y el precio me cuestan lo mismo las dos gracias por contestar
Yes, exactly, they are as good as each other, but the Sagola is better made and will last longer
Hi Pete , Yeah I bought one of these (saigole) , I needed a gun that I didn't care about ... My fluid tip was super tight like yours was , but after a few cleans is perfectly fine now (fyi they do wear in) They're pretty good for the money , I think if you were a home tinkerer that only did small jobs here n there , it would be perfectly fine 👍 , it's an ok all rounder that's cheap for how well it sprays . Only issues I have with it are the trigger needs more of a curve at the bottom and I find myself bumping the air screw for some reason (the last thing is more of my own fault I think)
Hi Andrew, Yeah, I think they are worth the bit extra over the R500, and because the Saigaole works better at a lower pressure, it uses less air than the R500 which is of concern to many, cheers buddy 👍
I was one of the people who bought an R500 because I thought it used less air. I found out the first time I used it that my 6cfm compressor couldn't keep up. Luckily, most of my projects are either multiple small panels or small segments of a larger panel, so it tends to work out. Decent *HVLP* gun for cheap, and that's about it. I really wish we had a decent outlet here in The States to buy an ANI GF3. But everywhere it's available, the shipping is more than the gun.
Apakah devilbiss neptune itu di buat di jepang?
Hi Buddy, Yes, it's made in Japan, that is probably why it's better made than the British ones 😂, cheers ✌️
Do a video changing seals for ani r160 please sir
Hi mate, Yeah, it is on my list of videos to do 👍
Hi Pete...good video mate. A question, in your opinion what is the best all round spray gun to do smart repairs?? with a small compressor, Finish, price, build, and best cfm usage? Cheers
Best gun
Hi Mate, I hope alls well over there and you're enjoying the summer. Give me an idea of the compressor size and output, and I'll give you a few ideas 👍
If i started from scratch now...what compressor and best gun...LPH 80?
@mreightytwenty8709 The Devilbiss DV1S, pricey but very good, or the LPH80, smaller pattern but very good, and uses very little air
@mreightytwenty8709 The LPH80 with E4s cap is only 2.2 cfm, so virtually any compressor will run it
That was a very interesting comparison. I was surprised how different the spray was between them. Great video Pete, thank you!
Hi Richard, Yes, this was my experimental stage with getting the then new PRD717 , they are very different and both an absolute joy to use, they have really changed the way I feel about Chinese guns, These go to prove, the Chinese can make good guns in terms of performance and build quality. I didn't know about longevity at the time buy that has been well and truly proved now in my 2 years of ownership, not a single problem, as you would expect, thanks mate, it is much appreciated 👍
Thanks Pete, another informative video to learn from. I did think it was a bit comical when I read "German Technology" on the Saigaole. I do believe that you can make just about any gun spray with a beautiful clear coat. Thank you again for your videos my friend.
Hi Richard, It did make me laugh when I did the unboxing of Saigaole, It's supposed to be German technology with a Spanish inspired name, in a Japanese body 🤣😂 , cheers mate 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 Haha, indeed!
Typical W400 copies, albeit they're decent for the cost. One thing they're not is LVLP. Perhaps LVMP or a poor version of a reduced pressure guns, but the caps aren't very optimized. One gun I have been somewhat impressed with is the Berosslin, which doesn't seem to need as much pressure, but I'll have to do some more rounds with it to be sure it wasnt a fluke. So far it laid HS clear down pretty good at 1.6 bar or so. I still do not believe real LVLP exists in a full size gun
Hi Boss, Yeah, I think we are in agreement on these. They do offer a reasonable gun at a cheap price, but it is just that. I think maybe MVMP would be more appropriate for some of these, I've had many people since I got my R500 saying to me they bought one thinking it was that special thing, the one that cost little, works well and uses little air, they are of course disappointed, hopefully people are getting the idea now of the limitations of these guns, cheers mate 👍
Spraying with these copies the 1st thing I noticed was the air pressure needed to run them. An experienced painter will immediately pick up on that. Making manual settings and then taking note of the pressures is what I do. Great comparison Pete, although they both look fantastic!
Hi Buddy, Yes, agreed completely. They do need more pressure than say an Iwata W400 to perform ok. By upping the pressure, we are upping the air consumption, so the selling point of low air consumption is completely negated. Some don't seem to let people know this, which is a shame. Thanks mate 👍
Great video Pete. I was the fella who saw them rising in price as soon as you said you bought one and would be testing soon 😂. Tell us the gun that you think might be up to the kiwami 4 before they go up in price 😂. Thanks as always
Hi Dominic, it's your fault then 🤣😂😅, they sold quite a few after that, cheers, mate 👍
I got a binks trophy pressure fed and i got 3mm ptfe hose off aliexpress .pressure fed needs about 40 ml of paint to prime so it wastes about 40 ml of paint and it takes more solvent to clean .not sure how I'm going to clean it was thinking about using a wire to run through hose with piece clothes tied to the end to run it through the hose
Hi mate, that should work
That saigole looks pete like a kiwami 4 1.3 😊
That's what I was hoping it was as Iwata have stopped production of the Kiwami4 at the moment. It is not as good, but then it is cheaper, cheers, mate 👍
Good video 📹 pete when are you going to do your top ten well in your case mate top 1.000 haha 😄 just kidding I love to see a play ▶️ off with my favourite sata jet x5500 and sagola and my other favourite iwata ws400 series 2 digital version 😊
Hi Andy, I'm working on it now mate, it's a top 12 and should be out at Christmas 😁
Hi Pete, it was a very good idea that you used some glooves. Touching these sensitive circuits with bare hand could ruin the whole electrical (discharge) . Some transistor could be damaged with 100v shortcut (for example you are charge by friction with your clothes). When human sens the spark during discharge, then it is around 3000v or above. Lot of time peoples assembly disassembly these stuffs and they dont understand why it is dead. Just wanted to share this info. Thank you for your work!
Hi Buddy, Yes, it's a very good point, I also made sure the gloves were new, as oils in the skin can conduct and cause problems with circuit boards. When I was on the maintenance team looking after our equipment, we used to use antistatic mats with gloves and earthing straps around our wrists when changing electronic components, obviously that's not practical for most busy guys in a paint shop but clean gloves certainly are. Cheers mate 👏 👌
I still can't get over the finish coat - it's stunning! No orange peel at all, amazing. I'm trying to paint using Rustoleum Gloss black, then clear coat. After that I'm going to airbrush different style blue flames, some by stencil. So far I can't even get the gloss black to spray correctly. Still waiting for the 717 to be delivered. My last attempt wasn't very good - at all. The temperature is around 50 degrees Fahrenheit or 10 Celsius, so I tried 5oz paint, 2oz Acetone, 2 teaspoons of KRYLON Hardener and .654 teaspoon of Japan Dry. It did not dry fast enough and it was all orange peel LOL. When the 717 gets here I'll try a bit more Japan Dry. What is your thought about this concoction? Thank you Pete for another awesome video, can't thank you enough!
Hi Richard, I don't use Rustoleum paint . Is it a base coat? , so drys to a matte finish? , ready for clear coat?, I know they make many different types. If the weather is cool, it's often best just to give it more time to dry than put an accelerator in it, or some heat from a hot air gun, depending on the area you are doing as to how practical that is. It sounds like the material may be too thick or you are moving too fast. Have you done a viscosity check? The TDS should give you an idea of the viscosity to aim for and the tip size as a guide
@@peteshobbies5383 Thank you Pete, very much appreciated. I will check the viscosity, if there is any info on the gallon can. Thanks again!
@richardbartlett4075 Any manufacturer should be able to provide you with a technical data sheet, so if the information isn't on the tin, ask them for one. You will have a better idea of where you are once you see what's recommended 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 Well Pete, Rust-oleum is a DTM ALKYD Enamel. I use it to paint (rattle can) motorcycle frames and parts. It is a great rust preventative and also used for farm equipment. Many colors but I use gloss black. It is a oil based paint and I do use it as a base coat. I can't find any viscosity info, but from online info, the mix is 5-2-1/3. It is a very slow drying paint and will not spray unless thinned. Hell, it's a slow dryer in the summer. I may have to use a different paint, time will tell. What kind of paint do you use for base coat? Thanks for your help Pete, as you can tell, I did a bunch. LOL
@richardbartlett4075 Hi Richard, I have a few different makes of base coat. The one I use most is a Kapci solvent base coat, I have a Kapci System, so I can mix my own colors up to a paint code. It sounds like what you are using is designed as a final finish coat, so it is not intended to be clear coated afterward, so it drys to a gloss finish. Is that correct?
Bad ass!!! Keep up the good work Pete!!!🤘 your videos are always top notch!!!
Cheers, Luke, much appreciated, buddy 👍
Hi Pete, well that was a very easy battery change with no dramas or foul language🤬😅I hate to think what will happen when the battery goes in one of my DV1's🤷♂I know you said that they are soldered in but is it possible to do it yourself or is there no choice but to send it back for replacement, I really don't know what Devilbiss was thinking when they came up with this stupid idea🤔 I'm trying to find a 1.3 tip for my DV1 base gun, atm I'm using the 1.3 tip from my clear gun as they are both the same but it's a pain having to swap them over each time, they are silly money new but I can't find a second hand one anywhere on fleabay so if you come across one at a good price please let me know👌cheers mate👍 Oh I just realised I'm first on here for a change😁😎
Hi John, Yes, very easy. There's nothing on here about it, so although a very limited audience, I thought it was worth doing if only to show the battery type 😁 I have no idea what Devilbiss is up to. The cynic in me is thinking it is just a good way of charging 140 GBP for a one pound battery . The no cynic in me thinks it is just a way to charge 140GBP for a one pound battery 🤣😅 Mine hasn't needed changing yet but it should be possible to do it at home, we used to do the same with NiCad battery packs that were soldered, a 125w soldering iron did the job most of the time, we will see, cheers mate 👍
I think the no cynic and the cynic in you is spot on it's a total rip-off unless they do actually change the battery and only charge for said battery plus postage🤔probably wishful thinking on my part, I have a few soldering irons and a nice soldering station so I don't have an excuse not to try and do it myself other than the fact that I'm older and the old eyesight isn't what it was so when I've done with it it will probably be totally FUBAR🤠😂I hope it doesn't happen for a good long while🤞🤞👍
@JohnWD40TC02 I think they charge around the price I quoted, mate, for the full service. Hopefully, someone with experience will let us know, but I am sure it isn't cheap. Cheers, mate
Hi Pete. Finally got to use this gun last weekend. It sprayed sealer, waterborne base coat, and a 4:1 clear coat beautifully. The finish was smooth as glass with no cut and buff required. Your gun settings worked perfectly! Cheers!
Hi Buddy, It's a really good little gun. It's certainly a mini gun but great for more precision with smaller parts . Thanks for letting us know, mate, as it helps others to get an idea of what to expect , cheers 👍
Beautiful finish! Thanks for all the great videos
Thanks, buddy, much appreciated 👍
Thank you Pete! Amazing finish, another informative and just plain enjoyable video! I keep learning so much from you, that I feel guilty that I'm not paying you for these videos. Again, thank you for all the time and money that goes into making a video.
Hi Richard, Thanks, mate, it's much appreciated 👍 I genuinely enjoy making the videos. There's no better way of seeing what these guns are like compared to each other than using them in these comparisons. Any differences become so obvious doing it this way rather than going by memory from last time you used one, to be honest, I'm as interested as you as to what I find. Sometimes you use a gun independently, as you do normally, and get an impression of it compared to something else, thinking it's better, similar to the others or whatever, then that changes a little when used side by side, all part of determining what's better if at all that is, thanks again mate 👍
Appreciate the info mate especially the gun set up the tanks looks awesome 👍
Cheers, mate, much appreciated 👌
Have you ever had to strip the 717 down and replace anything? I currently have a bad air leak from the air adjuster on the back of the gun but in the service kit provided I can’t see a solution. So I’ve contacted via WhatsApp and email from their website and had no response. Would really appreciate your advice and recommendation on how to proceed with the repair. Really appreciate all your videos so informative. Have a great Christmas and happy New Year.
Hi Tim, no, I've never had to strip the 717 down yet or any of the Porphis guns for that matter. I did strip a PRD515 down just to have a look, but nothing was wrong with it before or after I stripped it down. I presume you have stripped the air valve out? , I'm not sure how it seals, but it should be obvious once you are in there?
Thank you for your reply. All has been sorted with Porphis. With a new part being sent under warranty 🙏 really impressed by the aftercare its a pleasant surprise.
Hi Tim, I have had a couple who have had a problem in one way or another, and they have all said exactly the same thing, excellent customer services. I haven't had a problem with any of my Porphis guns, and I have a fair few now 🤭, if only the same could be said for Anest Iwata and Sagola, both of which I've had problems with and zero response. Anyway, hopefully you'll be sorted now, cheers 👍
My question or deal is, even when paint channels, and this is all of them, they show us a view of the clear outside. All fine and dandy but you(in general) are showing the sky and trees. What I do to show may friends the true finish differences is put a bottle of something( I use a buffing compound bottle with letters and numbers so you can truly see side by side.) Would you be willing to do something similar? Showing outside videos of trees and sky on RUclips, honestly I can’t tell the difference on your finishes most times. All of your data is great, it’s just that to get a true visual of the difference between gun finishes you really need a static shot for a truly unbiased view. Thank you for all the data you have accumulated and shared. Truly appreciated!
Hi buddy, I'm really not sure what you mean, I presume you mean a photo of the reflection of a bottle or something with writing on it ? I'm not sure how that makes any difference, to be honest. The idea of moving shots to catch reflection in differing light so you can get an idea of the peel you can expect from the gun or products. To be honest, I would have thought a reflection of a bottle or whatever would actually flatter the work rather than be more critical of it It's certainly something I will try, as maybe I'm missing something, we will see, cheers, buddy 👍
@peteshobbies5383 you got the gist of it. I like to snap a picture of a static item like a bottle of soda or the buffing compound for each job, clear and gun so I have a database of which clear works with which gun and temperatures so I can reference that when a customer wants to know “how cheap they can go” I show them the pics. Instead of having to do a separate spray out card I can give them a good idea beforehand. If they want a spray out card for color and material we go from there. Just a thought, especially for all your back to back comparisons. Cheers 👍🏼
@92boostedh22 ok mate, I'll give it a try. Cheers 👍
Thanks, Pete. another informative and excellent comparison.
Thanks, Paul, much appreciated 🙏
My series 1 lines up with a little extra snugging and the two times i used it aligned this way can see the difference. Nice straight wet I pattern but i may have turned it in a touch. 🎉
Hi buddy, Yes, I have seen some of the series 1 line up perfectly out of the box. It's probably why some have more trouble setting them up than others. Cheers, mate 👍
@ yes i just checked and i ran it not even 1/2 turn in on the fan on my last job with HS clear, was perfect!
Fantastic info and I decided to buy a Porphis 717 after your awesome video(also subscribed after the first video). I'm in Nevada, USA and Aliexpress had a great deal including tax and free shipping for $219. That was a hell of a good price! Thank you for all the time and money you put into your videos. You obviously are a very busy man, so double thanks. I'm 69 and build high performance motorcycles and I'm getting ready to paint my personal drag bike, but I'm just learning and you have already helped me more than I can say. Hopefully this gun will help me, because the cheap gun I have, is a cheap gun($40). I got what I paid for.
Hi Richard, Thanks, mate, I think you will be very happy with your Porphis PRD717. They really are very, very good and an absolute bargain . Good also to hear you are still at it, being, like myself an older chap. I haven't been to watch the drag racing for some time now, with time and traffic being a major consideration. I know in the States you have many good venues, we, only really have Santa Pod, which is not too bad. I remember seeing Sammy Miller 3 or 4 times there, I was there in 1984 when he did a 3.58 1/4 run, it was astonishing to see, as you probably know, with Vanishing Point there was no real noise, a few clicks and hissing but that's it, then it just disappeared, totally amazing and really unbelievable to watch. Please let me know, and others know how you get on with the new gun and the bike. It's always interesting to hear. Thanks again, buddy 👍
@ Thank you my friend and Vanishing Point was such a great movie. I think I may have to watch it again. The older I get, past movies and reruns seem more interesting as I don’t remember it so well. Lol. My current drag bike is a 1976 Yamaha RD400 2-stroke and I did start the motor with an auxiliary gas tank. Everything is ready to go except the metal gas tank and fiberglass body kit, they need to be painted. So this is where you come in and your videos. I just wanted to try and paint it rather than sending it out, but by the time I finish, I will have paid out more than it would if I had it painted. That’s ok because I’m learning so much, that it way worth it. Thank you again and I really do appreciate you and your awesome videos!
@richardbartlett4075 I always think Richard, if I buy the tools to do it myself, it may cost more than sending it out, but I'll have the tools and experience to do it again, as many times as I like 😃 I had 2 RD400s when I was 18 for a few years, one was a RD400E and one was an F, the F I bought brand new, it was £949 GBP, so at the time, around $1600 USD. I have tried to find it but it seems it's no longer about. Obviously, I'm assuming yours is highly modified, I have thought about getting another, but a near mint original, excluding the standard exhausts that seem to be unavailable is around £13,000 GBP, so around $16,500 USD.
how many ml did you use to paint this tank?
Hi Mate, These are only 15lt tanks so normally around 140 ml
Thanks,is this a specialized gun? What nozzle and pressure?
This is a very good quality mini gun, tip was 1.2
How are you Pete, just put an order in for a 627 watch a lot of videos on these guns and had to order one, i plan on using it for clears and single stages but will need to see ?
Hi mate, you went for the 627. It's a good choice and often overlooked,I like it as it's less bulky than some so is more manoeuvrable than some
Thanks, very useful. I bought an LPH-50 0.6, and I was trying to decide whether to just buy the 1.0 needle & nozzle (almost $140 with shipping), or to buy an LPH-80 1.0 with an E4 cap (from eBay gray market $268 shipping included). This, and your other video on the gun are very helpful. I'll probably wait until my LPH-50 arrives to decide, but I am leaning towards getting the LPH-80. This allows me to do everything from priming scale models to full panels on my truck. Thanks again.
Hi buddy, That sounds like a good idea. That way, you can interchange the two caps and tips, so plenty of versatility , cheers, mate 👍
What pps 2.0 adapter will fit the 6800
Another awesome video Pete! Have a Wonderful Christmas Buddy. 🎅
Hi Mate, Thank you, hope you enjoy your Christmas as well, cheers 👍 🍻
Thanks Pete. looking forward to your shootout video. I'm definittely tempted to try the 717 on the strength of your videos.
Hi Angus, They really are very, very good and an absolute bargain. If I were Iwata, Sat's, Devilbiss, and the like, I would be worried 😀 , cheers mate, thank you
@@peteshobbies5383 I notice that on the website they now have a PPS adapter as an option, which is another big win. Your lobbying must have paid off. 🙂
@angusmackay7281 It makes it easier as people don't need to know the thread needed, it actually a M16 x 1.5, one good thing, is they now make and sell an adapter for the MPH338 Mini Gun, that was causing many problems as its an M11 x 1.5 thread, which is completely unique, cheers mate 👍
great video pete👍👍
Thanks Grant, 👍
Hi Pete, a brilliant video with two great guns fighting it out for the top spot and there lies the problem🤔how can you split the two as they are both fantastic guns both of which lays the clear superbly well, as you mentioned there isn't much difference between them when it comes to the finish they put out, the 717 does atomise the clear better but does it result in s better finish compared to the 715🤷♂ As you know I have the 717 and I bought the 715 setup for it and they are both very good, I prefer the 715 for basecoat but love them both for laying the clear👌I would like to see a video from you comparing the PRD-715 with the PC-415, apart from the price difference I can't split them for the finish they put out, I'm not sure of the exact price but the 415 is a lot cheaper than the 715 so I think it would be an interesting comparison🤔cheers mate👍
Hi John, Yes. Both these guns offer superb value and results up there or better than the best 👌 The PC415 was around 20% cheaper than the PRD715 , it has less thrills, so doesn't have the click fluid control and the like, but, as you say, it performs really well, so does the PRD625 for that matter. Cheers mate, good to hear you enjoyed the video 😁
Yeah as usual your videos are well thought out with a professional look and feel to them. I'm pleased I got my PC-415 when I did as I do wonder if it will be the same price when it comes back in stock🤔 You mentioned in the video that someone wasn't that impressed with the build quality of these guns, I really don't know how they can think that as IMO it's one of the best made guns available it's right up there (if not better) than the likes of Devilbiss, Iwata and Sata but at a fraction of the price, the only gun that might pip it to the post is some of the Meiji guns like the Finer Core which I will be using for basecoat and clear on my next tank😁👌cheers Pete👍
@JohnWD40TC02 I would agree totally with what you said regarding build quality, equally as good or better than Devilbiss, Sata and Iwata, cheers mate 👍
