Hi Mate, The trouble with we Brits was we just didn't think others could do it better, and just became complacent, that's why the British/UK car an motorcycle industries, powertool manufacturers etc went into demise, I'm not sure we have learnt our lesson either to be honest. I've still got my full set of Elora tools, all of them have been brilliant, even the ratchet is still going, I do take the head apart and re grease it sometimes, the later stuff I bought obviously has "Made in Germany" rather than West Germany, cheers buddy 👍
Well Pete just an example of "nobody's perfect." This problem seems to be unique to Iwata and now I guess Meiji guns which use much the same system. I've had air leaks with my SATA, DeVilbiss, Sagola and other guns but not at this particular point. Seems to be a unique "feature."
Hi Sataman, Yes, very much so, It's definitely a week spot with the Iwatas, and it looks like it could be with the Meijis. I was really surprised at first, but was left thinking what an easy cheap fix it would be if it happened down the line, the Iwatas on the other hand are easy but expensive by comparison to fix, cheers mate 👍
Hi Pete, well that was a bit of a surprise mate I would never have thought you would have any problems with a Meiji gun as they are superb quality guns I could tell that as soon as I picked up the Finer Core you sent me plus you said the Finer Core isn't the best made gun out of their line up🤔🤷♂I'm also very surprised about your Iwata guns I didn't know you had four of them with are leaks, I knew you had one as you did a video on it, just shows that anything can have issues no matter the quality🙄 Funny you mentioned about you still having a socket set from when you were a teenager, I'm the same mate I remember when I had my first car and I was 17 (in 1977) as well it was an old 1960's Ford Corsair with the V4 engine which burnt more oil that it did petrol and someone had painted the car purple with that car paint that you brushed on but I loved it😂anyway my parents bought me 2 socket sets I don't remember the make but I still use them now they are in a metal case and every socket in them is still like new👌sorry mate now I'm rambling on🙄 I'm waiting for the rain to stop so I can do my outside videos of my next tank I hope to post it up later🤞⛈🌦cheers mate👍
Hi John, I was really surprised to have a fault with the Meiji, especially considering I'd just got it, that turned to being pleasantly surprised to know the parts are available separately, unlike the Iwatas. If your sockets are like new mate, it sounds like you're not doing enough work with them 🤣😂, I can't remember the Corsair, it was more Escorts and Cortinas, cheers John 👍
Nice video thanks. Was that a VT250 by chancev with the cams made by Cadbury's? I had to do head gaskets on mine several times. Did it once directly after a night duty. Had enough parts left over to make a lawnmower engine 😂. All had to be redone after sleeping.
Hi Mate, There were a few about at that time with chocolate cam's if I remember rightly, It wasn't a VT. It was a GSX 250, I think I said 16 valves, I should have said 8 valves, 4 per cylinder. At the time , I was working 7 days a week as we were really busy, and my GSX was my only transport, every time I road it, I was getting an oily leg 🤣 so it had to be done. Didn't the VT250F also suffer from camchain troubles, the tensioner being the culprit ?
Yeah. Cam train troubles galore. Was a pretty powerful bike for a 250 though. Used the frame as cooling tubes, and i always felt it handled differently when hot 😮. Changed to Suzuki myself after lots of pushing it home 😢. Looking forward to the next video Pete. Always great information in them. Thanks again
Hi mate, yes, I have it, I have shot a video of the B4 v the Meiji Finer Force T, needs editing and vocals, which takes the time but will get it up one day. Yes, it's the lowest air consumption, but it also puts out low amounts of material, so it can be a bit slow, especially for clear coat, which negates its lower air consumption , a good gun though
I never saw the appeal in spray guns with side cups. Yes i get you can change the angle to spray from underneath with regular cups but how often do you need to do that? The rest of the time you're spraying with a lopsided gun, am i missing something i haven't considered as to why people are buying these?
Hi buddy, I use the side cup and top cup gun's, most of the time, I don't notice if it's a side cup of not as far as feeling goes. One of the things I enjoy most about the side cup, is the ability to move the cup, so if you need to get in somewhere where its tight, you have a degree of choice how you go about it, it also makes the gun shorter which can be handy, it does make it wider though obviously, I've just put down a side cup Iwata and the positive outweighs the negative for me. Some you have to get the gun inside of, so it being shorter, especially with a small cup which only sits just above the gun is really handy, bike and cycle frames are another where the maneuverability of the side cup is welcomed, cheers mate 👍
