Oh this seems like a winner! You may not notice Pete, but as soon as you give a good review, the price rises! Just bought one on that basis 😂. Thanks once again for a good honest, in-depth review.
Hi Pete , I actually went out and bought one of these after watching this review , they're about $100au fyi . The method to my madness was I was looking to buy a kiwami or wider anyway , so if it doesn't work out , I at least have some spare parts (It is still cheaper than a needle and fluid tip for above mentioned iwata guns! ... )
Hi Mate, I was thinking just that when I did the video, to give people an idea of what's interchangeable and what is, this is after having the needle adjuster knob flying off one of my Meiji guns and I can't find it 😂, probably says more about my eyesight and state of my workshop than anything else, but certainly compared to the price of Iwata parts, as you say, a tip and needle pays for the gun, cheers mate 👌
@peteshobbies5383 yeah thanks for that mate , it's very handy to know what is interchangable at times! . I'm sure (if you're anything like me) you'll find the fluid needle bolt the second you purchase a new one 🫣
@andrewntoth1 I am leaving it until I need something else from paintingtooljapan to order the Meiji part to save on postage, but you're right, as soon as that package leaves, I'll find it 😂🤣, always the way, cheers mate 👍
Hi Pete, well from the look of that fan patters I'm pretty sure it will spray as good as the Kiwami4🤔it does look a well made gun the only thing is how tight you had to do the tip up which looks like the mating surfaces are a fraction out but as you say it might bed in once it's been re-seated a few times but at the price you can't really complain, it will also be interesting to see how long they will last and if it has the inherent air leak fault🤔 Looking forward to seeing the spraying review mate as this could be a gun on my list, knowing me I will probably get one before you do the review🙄😂Thanks mate👍
Hi John, Yeah, there are a few different ones about, people have been messaging me with the patterns, and none are like the Kiwami4 BA4J. This, to me, looked pretty close, looking at the cap in the photos. It is different but quite similar. it turns out that was correct as the pattern is very much like the Kiwami4 BA4J, it's also pulling the same air so it would be good to put this against the R500, as that uses more air as it needs more pressure, if this sprays ok at 2 bar for clear it will be a winner for the money, cheers mate 👍
Great video man! Thats a good priced spray gun for sure!! Of topic question, if you had to stick to one spray gun either an Iwata LPH 400 Silver Cap LV4 Split tip or a Devilbiss GTI Pro lite TE10 which one would you choose as the better gun in general?
Hi Mate, I would probably go with the Devilbiss as an all rounder, the Iwata is a good low-pressure gun, but the Devilbiss Tekna Gti Pro Lite TE10 can do most things well, there are plenty of spares and caps available at a reasonable cost normally so you can expand the ability of the gun later. The same is true of the LPH400. Although the cap changes have a lesser effect, the Devilbiss is also better on air consumption, which may be a priority ?
I noticed in your nozzle comparison that the original has a more tapered end, probably the reason the knockoff is more prone to fluttering when it's not tight enough.
Hi Mate, Yes, there is a small difference, which, as you say, could make it harder to seat. It could just be mine, I will see how it goes when I use it more and will let you know in the full review, cheers mate 👍
Surprising to hear that the kiwami4 was withdrawn from sale, i can't exactly say i do agree with it undercutting the w400 because here in the US it was sold at $200 for years but now in present time it goes for $520. Never understood why the price hiked the way it did but additionally the w400 series was never EPA approved for professional use (excluding the two w400LV models) and neither is the kiwami4 series
Hi James, The reason the remaining Kiwami4 BA4J are expensive is because they can't be replenished, so people with stock have just bumped the price up, it was only after they were withdrawn that the price went up, supply and demand I guess. In some states in the US there are, as you will know, very strict environmental laws, so a lot of the RP, TE, and MP type guns aren't approved, I think the only reason the LPH400 was approved is because they set the working pressure at 16psi, something most people don't adhere to for the most part, thanks mate, it's appreciated 👍
Pete, good video pal keep them coming 👍 I have the kiwami 4 1.3 is it good on clear coat paint at 30 psi is it good at the sagola extreme 4600 1.3 titania pro cap pete 😊
If I could make a small suggestion regarding these "talking head" videos or whatever you'd call them, and I hope you don't mind. Would it be possible for you to put the camera and/or mic on a piece of sponge or similar? Maybe I'm overly sensitive but as you're putting the guns back on the table the banging goes straight into the camera/mic and it's quite loud (the mic even dips a bit to compensate for a split second). Having things isolated a bit form the table would help I think. Love the videos, a wealth of information to be had on this channel.
Hi Mate, I noticed the mic dipping a little when the guns or whatever are put in the table. Although the dropping noise didn't seem particularly loud, I'll try something to isolate it, cheers 👍
@@peteshobbies5383 I’ve used older version HTI guns but the newer Fpro and Fstart I haven’t had a chance to use I say there are overpriced and spray nice, definitely better value out there for the money but honestly hard to kill guns, nearly indestructible.
Hi buddy, yes, I have seen it. As you say, it looks good, I think it will be a bit of a letdown in the weight department. The Neptune is very light with a sort of Teflon coating, which really sets it apart, so I imagine the impostor would feel very different, cheers mate 👍
Hmmm.. S9 adapter, same cup, and gun body. Something tells me that Saigaole model was farmed out by Avalon. Same as I suspect with the Dram and Berosslin.

And gone up again this morning! Looking forward to seeing it used. Thanks Pete

I got my kiwami4 1.3 2 years ago, for 200 bucks plus tax , and i love it. I was looking for another with a 1.4 but they are like 500 bucks now haha
Hi Mate, Yeah, if people have still got stock, they have put their prices up because when they've gone, they're gone, cheers, buddy 👍

Imo the prolite with a te10 in a 1.4 for base and a Te20 for clear to get that oem finish
