Two whisky geeks on the quest for the holy grail of drams!
We (Rachel and Jen) review whiskies and other craft drinks a couple of times a week here on RUclips. We tend to have opposing opinions and we give our true thoughts on what we try and we don't take anything too seriously!
We met while working as tour guides at Deanston Whisky distillery. After working in a few other roles in the industry together we decided to go it alone, together! We opened a wee shop in the small village of Doune and called it The Grail - Monty Python and the Holy Grail was filmed at Doune Castle just round the corner. The holy grail being the cup of eternal life and whisky (uisge beatha) being the "water of life".
We outgrew our little shop and you'll now find us 8 miles along the road in the town of Callander where we run Callander Drinks Company, a whisky and craft spirits shop in the main street.
Subscribe and join us for a laugh and a dram or two! 🥃🥃 Sláinte! #whiskygeeksnotwhiskysnobs

Glengoyne Distillery Teapot Dram Historic Tour Experience
Glengoyne Distillery Teapot Dram Historic Tour Experience
We apologise for the absence but we we are finally back with a visit to one of our local distilleries, Glengoyne, to experience their Teapot Dram Tour. They had this on as an alternative to their usual tour during this summer's silent season.
They were having quite a lot of construction work done on their still house and therefore couldn't show this to visitors so they came up with this completely different tour experience.
The format is a "walk back in time" up the glen, learning all about the story of Glengoyne but getting snapshots into the whisky industry in Scotland at different points in history! I was very interesting and we w...

Drams in Glasgow We went for a day out in the big city of Glasgow and visited some of the sights as well as a couple of pubs. We had a wee dram in The Pot Still before heading to The Lismore to try some blind drams. Sorry about the picture and sound quality when we are in the pub, it was dark and noisy and we didn't think about this! We have learned and our next videos will be better! We do in ...

We decided to comapare it to other samples of Dailuaine whisky we have been given by various whisky friends. We tried: No 1 - Dailauine 16 Year Old Flora and Fauna Diag...

Interesting
Lebanese wine is my favourite. Most of the brands are excellent and others are fine luxury wines. ❤
I went there and was first in the queue to buy a ticket but a tour bus turned up and I was told I had to wait until after the tour bus people had their tour so I said F that and left. They wouldn't let me join with the tour bus people.
Is this interview is about me?
So this was a Signatory bottling that like many from that era were watered down to 46% and as you observed was not necessarily a great cask but not much of this around these days so worth trying - it's much better at cask strength- your challenge now is to find another bottle of St Magadalene/Linlithgow to review
It’s really great whiskey. I love it! I didn’t try it for many years because of a few RUclips videos where people said it was hard to drink or very complex. But it’s all BS-it's very nice, just like Green Label and Green Spot whiskies.
Im confused as to the difference between the tubed old 10yr and the boxed old 10?...are the tubed bottles just okder varsions of the same old 10yrs? Do you know the difference between the 2?.... because i don't..ive tried to search this out but I can't seem to find out ..do you know! ❤
I bought 3 bottles of the old .Am just popping the first one.... very good punch to it. An extremely nice whisky.. like talisker with a turbo taste to it. More complex. It just runs and runs on the pallet. 135 welll spent it lingers in a lovely way...there are 2 left in the shop...its going for 100 masters o malt so im calling bargains on the dark green bottles. It's destined for big money. It fades to leather. Beautiful thank you ❤
Hello my new malt friends! 😻🥃 When I taste Bushmilll my first time, was like a gin style. Alcohol and herbal flavours... Dont like this whiskey... Prefer Jameson if I can choose. Cheers darlings😻🥃
lol I’m from canada and I’m enjoying the cheeky BANTA
Welcome!!
It's all about The Badger!! 🦡🤩
Is it AberFELDY or AberFEDLY? lol
AberFELDY (we think!)
@@TheGrailTastings I tried it for the first time this week and it might be because I'm new to whisky, but it wasn't as nice as I was expecting after reading the reviews and watching videos advising it for beginners.
Hollyday, rainy, Scotland, yes checks.
Hi, You aren't the first reviewers to say that AnCnoc 12 has some Ex-Sherry cask influence. However, in direct conversation with the distillery manager, Gordan Bruce, he categorically denies this. It is 100% First-Fill and Refill Ex-Bourbon barrels. Moreover, he confirmed that E150a colour has been added.
Good to know thank you!
Damn. These ladies are hot. Love the accents. I need to get to Europe.
Caption says: it’s it’s like I it says Weaver It’s what sorry I 80 is 80 And later a swing and a miss of: eerie as a quaver. 😊
I live in Norway and all alcohol is expensive, so all the whisky starts at the same price. I was looking for something new and I grabbed this just because of the bottle. I was shocked how much I loved it! I started googling it to know how to pronounce the name. Than I found out how big palet the distillery has and how popular this whisky is. And now I found this channel, all thanks to the blue bottle, which I also love.
Bruichladdich is such a fantastic dram, glad you have discovered it :)!!
About 30 years ago Black Bottle is when I knew it and liked it. But Wiskies have changed. I might try it again. Famous Grouse allmost all have a recognasible too dominant taste that I really don't like and has kept me away from it ever since.
Funny weird fact; Legacy was re-branded across the pond here in the states. It is labeled as Tomatin Dualchas (which apparently is another way to say legacy). Around eight or ten years ago Jim Beam distillery had a copyright claim on the word "legacy" and didn't like Tomatin using *their word* so to speak. Legacy/Dualchas was my introduction to single malt scotch around that same time about a decade ago. Love it to this day. The 12 year is good but I absolutely *LOVE* the 18 year..... SLAINTE!
We didn't know this!! That's really interesting will definitely look this up. And agreed on the 18 it's fantastic!
This is the first time you lassies have come up on my feed. I enjoyed it so much I've subscribed. Which I've never done before on a first viewing it normally takes three or four views. Looking forward to more vlogs very entertaining. Love the format.
Thanks so much for subscribing :D!!
somebody elses fridge is my new favorite note
🤣🤣
Caol Ila 12 was my first bottle bought
Try blending with Glen Scotia Double cask about 10 percent, both very affordable but lifts the AnCnoc to a new level, wet towel smell gone!
Oh fantastic thanks for the recommendation = we'll definitely try that!
Better still...excuse the pun, is Tomatin Legacy, great dram for the price.
a shame that I'm just discovering this channel as there's not been any new videos for months
Thanks for tuning in Dylan, we've got lots filmed we'll be putting out ASAP!
By the way this whisky is called “Arboralis” (Arbor is Latin for tree) and not aurora borealis 😂 Glen Grant says it means “light from within the trees” and the casks are/were “sheltered by tall, ancient trees lining the Victorian Gardens of The Glen Grant Distillery” But thanks for your entertaining video anyways, just watched it in preparation of my visit tomorrow 😊👍🏼
Loool!! Thanks for pointing this out. . .words are NOT out one of our strengths 🤣! Hope the visit was awesome!
@@TheGrailTastings it was actually really nice. The garden behind the distillery is lovely with a little gorge and small river coming down the mountain, it also smelled super nice and sweet when walking towards the visitor center. The tour was ok, pretty much standard and we got to try the 10yo and the Arboralis and it’s really a lovely dram, easy to drink and 28£ is very reasonable for this whisky.
I bought my bottle in a warehouse in Austin Texas. I like it and I have no idea why I like it.
We love bottles like these!!
ALKEEZ !

Yes we absoluely love the new video format and walkabouts - as well as your bants and Whisky knowledge - of course!!!
You two are wonderful and help me relax after a hard day. I like to relax with whatever scotch you are reviewing.
Our absolute pleasure thanks for tuning in 😀!
Did someone get a new GoPro or PodCasting setup for Christmas??!! Love the “new” styleee videos ladies.
We've had the GoPro a wee while but STILL getting to grips with how to use it 🤣!! Thanks for tuning in 😊
@@TheGrailTastings Awesome - looks fun! :-)

Such a fantastic core dram!!

Great to see High Coast are getting good reviews! I like their bottlings a lot!
Hi ladies, I work for Diageo, how’s about a review for the Caol Ila unpeatead 15 yr old ,59% abv 🤪🤪
Yes, yes and YES! Tried an unpeated Caol Ila once many moons ago and LOVED it!

I bet the one on the left has some massive meat flaps

I still have no idea what that rum had. Was it a hitch? Was it an itch? I have no idea

Just returned from a 10 day Scottish Highland trip centered on hiking, castles and distilleries (played with the order of those 3 activities 😉)... and wished I would've watched this before I left. Great info, gals, for this American from the NW corner of the States who's come to love & appreciate the craft and taste of whisky - not to mention its history and heritage! We’ll keep the acorns/oak coming for the magic that happens over there! 🥃🏴🇺🇲
Your trip around the Highland's sounds fantastic!! Which were your favourite places to visit? Thanks so much for tuning in 🥃🥃!
@TheGrailTastings Dewars Distillery, Glencoe Visitors Center and hiking the Cairngorns!
@@caroldahmen153 sounds fantastic!!
I love whisky! Scotch Whisky is a drink that can be described as bold, strong, and fiery, although it can also be smooth, almost sweet, and a drink of depth and contrast - just like Scotland itself!
First time I've watched your channel. You guys are amazing. Keep up the good work!
Welcome aboard 🥃🥃!!
