So... Let me see if I got this right... They're actually finishing their whiskey in Sam Neill's Pinot Noir casks from New Zealand? 🤔 Rachel was hilarious there at the end! I had to look up the theme song from Peaky Blinders. This whiskey was complicated... 😀
Rachel's defiantly up for a BAFTA! I think Peaky Blinders had there own whiskey. I know in the show they drank Bushmills Prohibition Recipe. But Amazon has one labelled Peaky Blinders by Sadlers Shelby Bros. Birmingham £45. I won't be buying one mind. XX
There is a peaky blinders whiskey, we haven't tried it and weren't in a rush to to be honest but we hadn't actually known anything about it to be fair! I didn't realise they drank one in the show! That's quite cool!
Which distilleries do you think this whisky is from. As the company is from Northern Ireland, you’d hope there would be some Bushmills single malt in it, although with most of the new Irish brands, it’s likely to be from Great Northern in Dundalk. Pleased you enjoyed it, tried a Powerscourt yesterday in Stirling at the festival in the Highland hotel.
@@TheGrailTastings Yes that is one of my problems with Irish Whiskey and will be for a good few years yet. Distillers should not be allowed to use the name of a distillery, if the liquid was distilled somewhere else, it couldn't happen in Scotland, which is why you haven't seen much from Eden Mill, they aren't allowed to distil whisky elsewhere and call it Eden Mill, which they can do with their white spirits. Back in the day Diageo tried it with Cardhu, and got their fingers burned by the SWA and the rest of the industry.
Hi girls! Just today I bought Mat Darcey Co Ltd 10 year old Blended Irish Whiskey Porto Cask (t'was on sale) 46% non-chill filtered. I ain't opened that yet, waiting for a occasion. Nowdays our liquor stores in Moscow are just bulked with Irish wiskeys so it's hard to dig into them all. If you've tried that one-could ya please gimme your experience. Thx in advance. Slainte!
You're right I have spelled it wrong! I am dyslexic! (You might have noticed 😂) And yes, we should have said the whiskey is "from" Blefast, as in the company are based there, we don't know where is it distilled but we know they are not distilling it themselves. We speculated that might come from Bushmills but that that was unlikely and as other commenters have suggested, it probably comes from Great Northern Distillery.
Legend has it that every M1 Garand in WW2 came with a Jen who was tasked with making the ping when it emptied.
I could do that job!😂
Sam Neil was in a movie that would summarize this episode to a T: "In the Mouth of Madness".
Zing!

Sorry for the confusion! I think we made it sound more complicated than it was!!😂
Fireballs were Cinnamon based, much hotter tasting than either Aniseed or Liquorice.

Very intersting story and whisky too! I don't know that Sam Neil is irish.
Seems to be yeah!

I think we kind of speculated it could be Bushmills but weren't sure! You might be right about Great Northern though.

We haven't tried this one but will look out for it! Hope you enjoy when you get the occasion to open it!
@@TheGrailTastings Sure I do!)))
I just noticed your glencairns seem a bit smaller that the regular ones....is it just the camera or are they are different size?
They're actually oversized Glencairns. Rachel and Jen are confirmed giants.
It's a well know fact to our subscribers that they are not wee Glencairns because we are total lightweights, we are indeed giants!
Sam Neil is in the original Jurassic Park 😂
He played Dr Alan Grant but didn't really Stand Fast when faced by a Dino!
@@iangrant5527 "Clever girl."
This is really showing me up! Next rainy day off I'm getting the popcorn in and renting Jurassic Park!😂 Thanks for confirming Pieter!!
Its Samuel Gelston and its a sourced whiskey and not distilled in Belfast.
