- Glencadam 15 Year Old Highland Single Mat Scotch Whisky Review
Glencadam Whisky is one we have been recently recommended quite a bit. We had tried a few other expressions in years gone by but never really come back to it. We'll you're persistence has persuaded us that its worth another shot!
We found the 15 year old a very light, fizzy dram and a lot fuller flavoured than we were expecting! We'll definitely be trying more Glencadam whenever we have then chance!
What do you think of Glencadam? Is there a particular bottling that we shouldn't miss? Let us know in the comments!

The 10 yo is 46% non chill filtered & natural colour. It's a very pleasant drop & good value for money in my humble opinion
The 10 in my market is 46%/non-chill filtered, as you said, and $35 to $40! Best value in whiskey, IMO.
it gives arran 10 a run for its money and can be had for £30-35 so it's excellent value these days...
yes you would think folks with the confidence to review whisky would know a bit about it..........
@@triplecap4307 These ladies literally own a whiskey shop and tasting room so I think they know their spirits. If you didn't hear that hey had to say, they were complaining that Glencadam's information is not readily available so it's hard to know a product when the producer isn't forthcoming with that info.
@bdwilcox thanks!!!😊
The modern range is all bottled NCF NAC @46% abv.
Oh, so you jumped straight to the "Rather Dignified" one...
('Cause the 10yo is the "Rather Delicate" one. 🙂 One of my favorites. Unchillfiltered, no added colour and at 46% ABV, by the way.)
Now I have to try their 15yo expression... 🙂
just found the 13 year old on the shelf here in Canada.....bought it based on Ralfy mentioning them as a distillery to watch for.....cant wait to try it.
I really liked the 15. Big tropical tartness. A very unique tasting whisky, great stuff. The 10 is good too.
"Big tropical tartness" is perfect!
We only have the 10yo in the market I'm in but I love it. Light, floral, summery type of whisky. Not usually style I like since I tend to prefer Islay and the weird sour ones like Old Pulteney, but I still love it.
Had a few glencadams, the 10yo, the 15yo and the andalucia, all very good, inviting whiskies that are very fit for their price.
Great video ladies, lovely dram, a very summer drinking whisky 😋🥃
Definitely a summer dram for sure!
The NASA sweatshirt is great!
In my market here in the US, the 10 year old, 13 year old and 15 year old are all bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and natural color. They are also exclusively bourbon cask finished, no sherry. Never saw the 21 year old but i would hazard a guess it's the same.
I know you're very fancy ladies (but not snobs) but would encourage you to try or compare the 10 year old with another brand's 10 year old as it's still my favorite in the lineup. The youth at 10 years old really makes the fruity elements pop.
I use the 10 year old as a gateway whiskey, especially for wine drinkers, since it's so accessible in taste, availability and price. Here in the US, I can get it for $40 ($35 on sale) which is an absolute steal for such a high quality spirit. And wine drinkers really vibe with its grapey, winey, fruity flavor and the entry price keeps the hesitancy to try a bottle much lower.
For a starter whiskey, I used to recommend things like Glenmorangie 10. Monkey Shoulder, Glenfiddich 10, Naked Grouse, etc, and while all of those are still fine, I now exclusively recommend the Glencadam 10. What I secretly hope is that Glencadam 10, with its 46%, non-chill filtered and no color added quality, becomes more popular, gives the others a run for the money and makes them up their game with their starting line-up.
Right! We're on it!!! Glencadam 10 here we come! Thanks!!!
Love the 15... and the brilliant value of the 10 .. great review guys'
Thanks for watching!
Hi ladies, wonderful and funny review. Thanks for sharing your impressions with us. I love the 10 years and I also tried Glencadam American Oak which was good, too. Need to purchase a bottle of the 15 year old later this year. Keeping entertaining us. Cheers from Germany
Thanks for sharing!!
And a Ralfy favorite as well!!!
I quite prefer Glencadam being quiet about their whisky, makes them a little cultish. I have just started a 10 and if the 15 is better I can't wait to try it. Another great video, thank you.
Also keeps the prices down, the 15 is very reasonable.
A very good point!
Nice one! Roy’s knowledge level was in evidence in my Warehouse 9 Tasting yesterday too! 😂😂
Nice review. Love the 10 so plan to get the 15 next. 😊
Enjoy!
Gorgeous distillate, and very much and old-school no-BS firm - one of my favs. Great cask policy as well. The 15 is mostly first fill bourbon, but my fav is the 21 (currently unavailable due to production gap) in refill casks. It's actually a surprisingly edgy new make - lots of bulky sulphury green vegetable character - which makes it quite slow-maturing IMO. I suspect this is why most of my younger bottles are best with a year or more of air in the bottle.
Thanks! Will defo look out for the 21 when if it becomes available again! Sounds interesting!
Thanks for sharing your insights. Fun as always!
Thanks again!
Pineapple cubes the sweeties! that's the note haha
Yay, I’ve been wanting you two to review this for some time - waiting for your trustworthy opinion before purchasing :)
Aw thanks! Hope we persuaded you!
Great review! I need to finally catch up with a bottle of this. And I would always come to the defense of the humble yet dignified oat cake 😆 Cheers 🥃
Oat cakes are the best!
According to the master blender one time on Vpub, the Glencadam core range up to 18 years old are all bourbon cask, no sherry at all. They have some 14 years old sherry finished, but was said not as good. I am not sure about the 21, though.
The 21 is also bourbon cask only.
Thank you.
Thanks for the info!
This 15 is subtle and complex but it's not a Whisky with an obvious hook so you need time and patients to appreciate it. The 10 is bright and spirity and for me pretty different from this 15. Both are great and intresting contrasts showing youth versus age with the same spirit and the same casks. Cheers lady's
Yes, very subtle and complex but distinctive all the same!
Sounds like a tasty one. Have some Glencadam-Bottles in my collection, but not tried yet.
Definitely get them cracked open!
This is a great dram girls I love it. the 10 yr is bloody good and IMO more alcohol drive and for that reason I prefere it over Arran 10, the 13yr aint bad either.
One day someone will do a comedy show out of the Grail.
Lots of people saying the same, we need to get into more Glencadams!
When you say Dundee you are referring to Crocodile Dundee yes?
Just North of Crocodile Dundee!😂🤣😂
Omg, you need to try the 15yo white port cask finish - it’s a stunner! ‘Limited 2006 edition’.
NCF, natural colour, 46%.
Oh wow! That sounds magic!!! White port?! We're on the case!
@@TheGrailTastings if you don’t manage to find a bottle let me know and I can post a couple of samples to you from my open bottle.
5:04 "Caramelly eyes" like gooey brown sticky eyes...
🤢🤣😂🤣
Try LaPhroiag single malt Scotch whiskey if you possibly can, you will definitely not be disappointed. :-)
I (Jen) particularly love a Laphroaig already. One of my favs! Definitely doesn't disappoint! Lore is one of the best in my opinion. We reviewed it on here a while back - ruclips.net/video/PVYDXhoUi_o/видео.html
@@TheGrailTastings So Jen, what should i buy?-Laphroaig 10y.o. or Laph.Quarter Cask?
Glen called him? What did he call him?
🤣 Glad to know we've confused others as well as ourselves!
