Bravo ladies this is the 3rd time I've watched this video & it just gets funnier & funnier .. you've set a new bench mark with this one.. when Rachel dry boaks & goes " I regret all my decisions " .. genius
Hi Trevor, as Rachel's dad I also think she is a hero - but with regard to the Springbank I've never got the fuss over it. Sure, it's a nice dram but doesn't leap out to my taste buds as exceptionsal. I don't think I've shared that with the bold Rach yet she clearly is of the same view - maybe something to do with genetics of the taste buds. Good research project for a student!
Not sure what's heroic about showing disrespect to both the whisky and the person sending them samples. It's childish behavior allover. I feel almost sorry for Jen.
The amount of different things you 2 can pick out is amazing. “The death sniffles “ killed my sinuses last year and I’m only getting my smell back now, so it’s good to hear what these whiskies smell like. Great review as always. Cheers.
"oh, Jen..." 😂 sometimes just the suggestion of a novel taste/smell combination can put it off. We may have managed to get the same Hazelburn 15 oloroso, but I'm worried about giving it another go until I can put these tasting notes out of mind. I once smelled separate distinct fruit and salty on a PX finished whisky before but had to step away from it for a few months when the wife suggested blue cheese. We also have a grain-forward American whiskey with some barrel char and unique red fruit characteristics that she can combine into "day old cigarettes put out in red wine". I don't think I've seen CC skip so much of your dialogue in a good while. Good to keep it on its toes.
'It's gas...gaaas..like a gas leak, smells like a gas leak...' 😂 love the reactions ❤ I'm also quite in agreement with that 12 yo Hazelburn, its a lovely dram.
At 14:48 I thought you said it was sort of “hand-jobby,” in my nascent understanding of the scots accent. You two are SO funny- and Rachel with the mixer. Bahahahah!!! Slainte!!❤
Ah back to your best, I do slightly get the springbank jobbie thing, to me it's just a mildly unpleasant thing that won't go away, when springbank was available (back in the day) I was trying to like it but just couldn't, now I don't have that problem, down here in NZ I don't think any springbank makes these shores anymore.🙃
Love this review ladies, gas and salt and vinegar discos 😆, I have only just tried Hazelburn 12 for the first time and I really enjoyed it, when it comes to Campbeltown, I do really enjoy the Kilkerran sherry and port casks, I need to persevere with Glen Scotia, as the first time I tried their whisky, it smelt like baby sick and really put me off, I don't know if that is Campbeltown funk, but I certainly don't get that smell with Kilkerran.
Thanks for watching David :D!! Thats actually not the first time I've heard that but Glen Scotia but conversely I've loved every Glen Scotia I've tasted and don't find it funky at all! We''ll make sure to get some Glen Scotia samples for you if you're ever passing again :)
Somebody else's frig, not mine. I would never let mine smell like that! 😁 Another great vid from the Grail. I must say your store is tops of my Scotland visit list.
I really don't know anything which can hide pickle juice with hay... Except for a lot of water. Maybe... But I have to admit that I am tempted to try anything that puts Rachel off. I haven't tasted anything farmy or jobby flavoured yet... Springbank is hard to get.
Sounds like the 15 YO was done right after a batch of Longrow or regular SB was done...and maybe they didnt cleaned the ovens and grills enough...especially if you are getting smoke on an unpeated whisky....sounds like a slight contamination issue...."GAS!"....it doesnt sound like it smeshes frell!
Springbank longrow hazelburn are hype, non available spirits , only on auctions for extortion prices for greedy individuals and producers shady tactics, over 330 distilleries in Scotland, but only this distillery is non available worldwide for a time beeing, don't you wanna know why.?.....guess...all about money😂
Rachel: "Slante!" Jen: "Denied!" * * BTW, I don't buy the panic excuse one bit; seemed a bit passive-aggressive. In fact, when Jen said the whisky tasted angry but not telling you, was it really the whisky...or was it Jen's inner-state projected onto the whisky? (puts down the pipe) OK, our hour is up. Will you be coming next week so we can discuss your feelings of abandonment?
I posted too soon. This is rich with your artistry. And I like a nice clean swimming pool as well, but in a scotch? That's a smell too far. A mom in a scotch is a bit too much as well. Go ladies. You rule! OMG did I just see that....Rachel you got what you deserved. Whew.....may be a classic tasting.
If I had sent that local barley sample for review, I would be furious. Rachel, are you trying to get rid of subscribers? ''Risk comes from not knowing what you're doing.'' -W. Buffet
-1 subscription. Sorry ladies, but as much as I have enjoyed your channel, pouring lemonade into a Springbank Local Barley is sacrilege, especially if it is a sample courtesy by someone else. Most viewers won't be able to taste this malt, let alone afford (or get) a bottle. You may dislike and criticize it, that's absolutely fine, but what I witnessed Rachel doing is the opposite of whisky snob, that's whisky kindergarden.
You've made such big assumptions about who sent us that sample and what they intended us to do with it. . . .whisky is to be enjoyed and that's exactly what I was doing :) we have a whisky ice cream float video in the planning it's probably best you've unsubscribed for 😅

Ahahah glad you're enjoying 🤣🤣 thanks for watching!! I cannot explain how bad it tasted with the lemonade 😅
A most wonderful review once again. Thank you Ladies. Love Rachel's Springbank face. It's a classic.
Springbank face- yes!!!!
Thanks for tuning in :D!
Rachel is my hero! Her honesty with respects to springbank is a refreshingly honest departure from all the hero worship they receive.

What a horrible move, Rachell...
... but I love it that you let "enjoy the whisky the way you like" prevail above the horror.

I wonder what the local barley would taste like if Billy Walker were running the show???? Like fruit & feet, but in a nice way?

Oh dear! That sounds awfully unhealthy!🤣
You’re so lucky to get these….
Lucky or very hard working ladies in the whisky industry 😉
It's angry but it's not telling you.... another utterly mental tasting note logged & stored. 😆🤣
This whiskey seems very feminine. To test this theory, ask it what's wrong and it if says, "Nothing!" you know you're in trouble.
