Man…I can relate to everyone’s feelings about having to deal with school as a JW child. I graduated high school in 1994, it couldn’t come fast enough because for one, I wouldn’t have to deal with the miserable school experience anymore. Most importantly though I turned 18 two months after graduation and I knew I was going to liberate myself from it all.

I'm not far into this video in particular.. but as far as JWs in public schools.. I've got a story. One of my classmates in 3rd grade was JW. She was very awkward, a little bit chubby (other would pick on her but she was gorgeous) but you can tell that the things and rules she had to follow weighed on her. It was Valentine's Day and she went to go sit in the hall while we passed out Valentine's cards. Something told me to go sit with her outside of the classroom. She had been picked on relentlessly. No friends.. ya know. But I had an overwhelming feeling that she needed a friend. I asked if I could go sit outside the room with her to keep her company. I didn't care about the cheesy lil dollar store valentines. I cared about her. Dude that was over 20 years ago and I still remember her smile when I sat down a couple of feet away. We talked and joked around.. all that.. she was so sweet. Just brainwashed and conditioned into believing some weird stuff due to the JW organization. I hope she got out. Or at the very least.. kept lil ol me in her heart because I was the only one who was so kind to her

Yes, the stupid moron elders who DF'd me a few years ago did so because they believed that contributing to a lawsuit against a governmental health agency (that defrauded millions during Covid years and took away their medical and Constitutional rights) was a "violation of our neutrality"?????? "Neutrality",.......go ahead and find that word in the Bible! Much less strictly defined!! Was I and perhaps thousands of other witnesses who wanted their human right to choose their medical treatments, "part of the world", or a "friend of the world"??????? Well if that were the case, then why did the Watchtower Society join the United Nations as an NGO for 11 years; and then pull back out because a shrewd witness whistleblower found out?? And then why has the Watchtower even over the ongoing past 20 years joined UN affiliate organizations that champion human rights and religious freedoms?? Isn't that "being part of the world" that they so condemn??? And how is the Watchtower being no part of the world that Jesus denounced taking up weapons for;......investing in large military weapons manufacturers like Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman, Honeywell International, and others? And why hasn't the Watchtower's Board of Directors and governing body been disfellowshipped like me and others, when they belong to the U.S. Department of State as an NGO? They also belong to the OSCE: the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe;..whose goals are clearly political in their charter!! And why hasn't the Watchtower Society's branch leaders and committee directors been disfellowshipped for ongoing lobbying to the City of New York, the Governor's office, Bulgaria, and several Asian and European countries????? This is a much needed video that I will save under my "JW Hypocrisy" files!! I never join so I never leave. Just spent 1 year and a half of my life studying with them. During that time, I sometimes saw their real face.

My mom got baptized when she was pregnant with me, and she read me these from birth. It's shocking this book is for kids!!

You are right. Critical thinking is discouraged. Very robotic. And you don’t realize how controlled you are until waking up. Worrying what others will think if you buy a vehicle you like and not a “service vehicle”. Worrying about your dress, what you watch online, not missing a witness opportunity, worrying about absolutely everything. And feeling like you have a us against them type of thing where you must stay on guard against “worldly associations”. I had multiple nervous breakdowns and hospitalizations and had to take a deep look at my life and why I always felt anxious , fearful, depressed and gloomy. I felt miserable and started seeing the negative mind control and how it ruins your life. Thanks for the video.

1st realisation something wrong. 9 yrs old visiting my Dad for weekend (JW) studying paradise book..he told me my 2yr old half sister would die at armageddon imminently. Never took seriously after that. I knew God was loving and kind.

It is so bad. Preaching love but it is an incredibly selfish religion. Fear for themselves above love for others. Reminds me of the pharisee vs the sinner speaking to God. So prideful and boastful in doing what they 'think' is right.

The worst part for me (not baptised so not df) my Dad has zero interest in my kids. Even when i try to tell him about them he doesnt have emotional connection and has no interest. Very sad.

I agree to an extent. If I had left at 20, the first time I was DFd, I hadn't acquired any skillset, credit, or had ever lived away from home. I reflect back, now being 57, and wish I'd left it behind before I married into it and dragged it out for another 15 years. But, i would've be lost and broke. When I did leave, at 35, I was much more prepared. My options were still limited due to not being allowed to get a real education or degree at a time in life when it was more appropriate, but I had some skills and was able to earn and provide for myself, plus pay child support forever. Having acknowledged that leaving in my 30's wasn't so bad when it came to taking care of my physical self, the emotional side is completely trashed. Same as everyone, I lost every relationship I'd ever had, except for my then 6 year old daughter, who waited until she was 18 to get baptized and then dump me. After my own divorce, I went through a ton of relationships. All horrible. I'd spent so many years conforming to what everyone else wanted me to be, I had no clue who I really was inside. It took years to work that out. When your lifelong friends, multiple siblings, parents, and even your own children all leave your dead, then mix it with a string of toxic relationships, you simply lose all trust and faith in the concept of love altogether. I just can't do it. I've spent the last decade alone, and it has been great. No drama, no pain, no heartbreak, no compromising. So, I guess I'm just saying there's a limit for some as to how much "moving on" you can successfully manage.

I didn't trust my own gut feelings and it wasn't until my last marriage, to a jw cheating husband, (2nd jw husb who cheated)...that I really got into doing more research and came accross all the sa info as well as this needing to have "2 witnesses (in good standing btw) for ANY offense! I had witnessed both my exes infidelities through msgs, pics and so on... even sent what I felt ok with sending onto the elders! Still, just to be told he/they either had to confess or be caught by 2 jw's, at the same time... together! As if a knowing jw whose committing these sins would actually tell on themselves! Even harder to have 2 (not inc myself) catch them in the act! 🤷‍♀️🙄 Once I started seeing the other evidences of what was going on with all the sa within the org... though still believing in God... I realized just how bad things were! 😮😢 I too feel, now being an older person, who didn't get an education past hs (didn't grad) that ill have a long ways to go in starting a career or getting a decent paying job to take care of myself! 😒😔😕 I've worked places that didn't fit what I need just to have an income.. now trying to figure out what to do next! 🤷‍♀️ I'm hopeful... 🙏

I left when I was 40. I didn't feel ready to lose my friends and family before that point. Shortly after leaving, I went to university to earn a teaching degree. Six years later, I graduated and started teaching in my late 40s - it was a Wonderful Experience! Now I am 66 and retired, and SOOOOOOO GRATEFUL that I went to uni when I did, cuz now I have a pension I can live on - Phew!! Big Relief!! I am still learning and growing. I have so much more peace of mind and joy now! So very grateful to have my intellectual and spiritual freedom! If you no longer believe it is The Truth, and you wish to exit, I encourage you to do so. Access whatever resources you can to support you as you start a new chapter in your life. (For me, it was student loans, and some counselling.) If you prefer to stay in, stay in...I really don't think God cares either way, as long as you are happy. Oh, and by the way, after I left the Org, I didn't turn to alcohol, drugs, or become a bitter, angry apostate. 😉 I have been living a life I love, with a new community of dear friends who are like my adopted family. I feel we shouldnt get angry with people in Jw. They have been deceived and are victims.
