As someone who survived CSA at the hands of a fellow JW, I can say that that false sense of safety gave my abuser access to me that they wouldn’t have otherwise had. Not only that, but for years I truly believed that it was my fault and that there must be something terribly bad about me, because they continue to push the narrative that bad things can’t possibly happen in “Jehovah’s organization.” So the problem must be me right? I cannot overstate how incredibly damaging this was to my mental health.
@@hopelessidealist I’m so sorry you went through that thank you for sharing and yes you do let your guard down. They had a talk , sisters had to be careful on how they dressed cause some brothers couldn’t help themselves, they blamed the victim and try to break you down, I had just reported a married elder he had sexually harassed me they told me that they knew he was a perv but couldn’t do anything unless he confessed we left shortly after that .
I’m an X but back when I was a teen, a sister and her son in our district attended assemblies and we teen girls always looked forward to seeing him at our circuit assemblies. Well, his Mom, the sister, shot herself while sitting up in bed. I was shocked beyond belief!!! BUT the adults around me discussing the incident just raised their eyebrows and showed NO grief AT ALL for what happened. Never saw that young man ever again. The coldness was shocking and still is. I’m 77 now. 😳
@@glorialeach7301 I’m sorry you had that experience with some individuals. Note I said ‘ individuals’. Just because a few individuals act in a certain way, that does not mean the entire group or the entire religion should be judged as the same.
Im from Portland so this event is extra scary. Ive been stalked by a JW man for 30 yrs. He is bat sh*t crazy, yet he is in good standing & supported not only by the congregation, but by the org. I had to leave to keep myself & my daughter, who was the real target, safe. There was no thought from the elders for our safety! This story perfectly demonstrates why that dynamic is insane! They know better! Its purposeful! Interesting that the good elders allow the org to make them act in such inappropiate ways. Well, eventually, good elders figure it out & leave. Those who love their position, glory in this filthy way of treating people. When I was young, an elderly sister lost her youngest son in a tragic accident. Rightly so, she was just broken. In car group, I just allowed her to express her feelings, as we both wept. I always thought of the scripture that says "weep with those who weep". But WT controls your every emotion. Ive seen that exact thing your father was told, Falon, in print. Disgusting! Im so sorry. The pain that an event like this murder causes is indiscribable! Often, if warning signs are paid attention to, its PREVENTABLE! Shame on WT.
This cult completely destroyed my family. My mother was a JW before I was born, my dad was not and just couldn’t handled it very well, and there was a lot of heartache and abuse happened; too much to go into this comment. Daddy finally started chilling out a couple of years before he died. Fortunately, after many years of praying for her, she finally started seing the truth and praise the LORD - I know I will see her and my dad again in heaven.
@@angelac2228 agreed. When we were sitting there at the convention that year watching her, we were shocked. Even as believing Jehovah’s Witnesses it seemed horrible. She left the stage and broke down. So sad. - Jason
@@angelac2228 of course the mother had no choice. She was ‘forced’ onto the stage by ‘the Organisation’. All of you people who just want to project blame are dishonest in the extreme, EVERYONE always has a choice..
Same. It was brutal for him and her mother in particular. I worked to try to respect the family in this edit. It needs to be retold to be remembered, but damn it’s gotta be like opening an old wound for them. I honestly hope this episode just helps people leave and stay away, but doesn’t get seen by Whitney’s family. - Jason
Yes gb is definitely responsible not just for this but for the csa cases, they push so much for everyone to become like family open up your home to everyone , they want you to open your home like a hotel, when brothers and sisters are coming from another state or country you don’t even know these people and if you don’t you will be looked down on as not wanting to be loving or excepting your brothers and sisters. Poor mother they just used her to keep members in line. Thank you for your dedication great video ❤
@@ucanliv4everit makes me sick when children or anyone gets abused, but I do feel that they push the idea of trusting everyone like family your in God's family if you don't they look at you different so you let your gard down I personally was sexualy harrased by a married elder when I reported it nothing happened except that they had a talk blaming the victim . Bringing awareness it doesn't matter where you start but that you start period
@ucanliv4ever your statement is totally illogical. You state ,"you are being misled." Then instead of using any factual evidence to back up your statement, you use a strawman argument about being upset about other horrible situations. We aren't discussing those other situations now. People are equally outraged about those things. However, right now we are talking about the corruption of the governing body and how they mislead and abuse people. They cause countless heartache and suffering while preaching that they're better than everyone else. Their policies have caused children to be abused and then shunned for reporting their abusers. They prey on the mentally ill and vulnerable individuals in order to lovebomb them into joining. This is not God's chosen organization. And as one governing body member said' " it would be presumptuous to say that". Even those charlatans at the top know God hasn't chosen them. You're being deceived.
I agree, they are hardcore recruiting felons and bragging about it. I get that just because you are one doesn't mean you are a bad person, but honestly any felon I've met found God in jail. It works for making them and the parole board feel better. These men are becoming elders. They are shipping these men around to be around people's children. It's honestly not hard to get some lonely man in prison into your cult cause they are bored and looking for fake redemption.
This holds true In a general sense, but if you were ever associated with Jehovah’s Witnesses you’d know the organization constantly praises its members as being morally upright, the best people and their congregations as the safest place to be. The religion encourages gullibility among its followers. And the constant theme is watch out for the evil people of the world! A witness follows all this only to find out your worst enemies will oftentimes be fellow witnesses.
Thank you for covering this sensitive and heart wrenching experience! My heart goes out to you for your loss and especially her family! 💗 I feel so sorry they have been misguided by this organization. I know many fellow JWs will rally around them and try to comfort them and im glad! But what the ORGANIZATION does, that part is sickening! Parading that mother out on stage while still processing her grief and not giving all the real details... Just disgusting! Again, love to the family and all Jehovah's Witnesses! Its the organization i have a problem with, NOT the individual members that don't realize... 💔
Isaiah 9:6-7 NIV For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end.
Hebrews 1:5-14 NKJV KJV NIV NLT NKJV ESV For to which of the angels did He ever say: “You are My Son, Today I have begotten You”? And again: “I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son”? But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: “Let all the angels of God worship Him.” And of the angels He says: “Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire.” But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.” And: “You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands. They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment; Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed. But You are the same, And Your years will not fail.” But to which of the angels has He ever said: “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool”? Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

It should also be said that the perpetrator also knew that the victim would trust him because he was a JW. He was able to take advantage based on the messages of that religion the you can completely trust your brothers and sisters. This is also why elders can easily take advantage of children.
That makes sense. Even though it was an awkward request that “Christian love” kind of puts her on the hook. Even years out of the religion, I have a hard time saying “no” without feeling bad. You’d think we were Catholics with all this guilt. 🙄 - Jason
Yes, I did that- showed Christian love...The person told me the elders told them to keep away from me as I was dangerous. A disability pensioner age 58...Pathetic..Revelations 18:4Micah 7..Psalms 146
Fallon - your point is super good. They ‘whitewashed’ what happened when they opened up the interview with the mom. Had it been a catholic or Baptist that did the assaulting and unaliving, the leaders would have screamed it from the rooftops, making sure, with distain, to announce gods wrath on such abhorrent unbelievers.
That is totally DISGUSTING! This lady lost her daughter to a 'Fellow Brother' murdering her & the WT took her pain & EXPLOITED this & her being the mom & INDOCTRINATED sooo much allowed this. How dare the WT do this? They are DESPICABLE!!!
I’ve had this thought as well. Particularly about my mother. I know what drew my father to it, because he likes quick solutions and easy answers and even though he smart, he doesn’t like to analyze anything that’s too complicated. But my mother is much sharper and more logical than he is. I would love to understand better. It’s so strange. Maybe just because she loves my dad and doesn’t want to upset the apple cart. Maybe sunk cost fallacy? Childhood trauma maybe that needs safety? I really wish she would talk to me so that I could understand her. Thank you for your comment. - Jason

34:38 JW funerals are also horrible. No real focus on the deceased. It is more about trying to get members. It hate funerals but I especially hate JW funerals.
My husband and I didn’t attent his Gma’s JW funeral. It felt too much like we would be going to a meeting and would have felt judged by others. We made our peace by remembering her love and character.
I agree! Just went to the first of my father in law. My daughter was crying and the dirty looks she got. She was so upset about how the funeral went. People with their fakey crap went up to her and explained why she should be happy. She had honestly had enough and told them where to stick it.
Very strange. I’ve been to untold numbers of funerals over 43 years and I have never heard 1 complaint. In contrast numerous non witnesses have commended the services numerous times . All the services I’ve been to ALSO have a video show of the persons life so the focus is VERY MUCH on the person that died! What this person is saying is NOT a general rule!
Brilliant video Falon and Jason. Thank you for sharing your personal experiences as well. This is such an important topic that you covered really well.
Thanks! We definitely try to keep it to a manageable time frame. We know your time is just as valuable as ours so we try not to waste it. Thanks for watching!! -Falon
I hated those experiences from platforms at assemblies. As teen I lived in a bordercity and unfortunately was dragged to both American and Canadian JW circuit and distract assemblies.
Remember when this happened and crying so hard. And I also feel for the ex-wife of the creep who did the deed. I can only imagine what hell she’s gone through. Here in Idaho we were told it was a disgruntled, inactive ex😖JW who attacked her
Wow. That’s what they told you?? Also same. Felt super bad for the then wife of Jonathan. Amanda was just trying to live her life. Imagine the therapy needed… - Jason
The most disgusting thing I have ever seen is when they have victims talk at conventions to make the org look like they are the way. They should be tried for human rights violations. Get out of that mess people
Some people they want to be part of organized religion to show to society they are good people...or trying to protect themselves from who really they are inside... Nowadays is better to stay way from organized religion because we don't know who they are deep inside. Christ is the one with power to read the human heart motivation. His judgement is coming to separate true Cristians from false Cristians. That separation is happening right now Registered in Matteus chapter 13. It's safer to read the scriptures at home ONLY
I had a JW so called brother physically attack me at a curcuit assembly because his wife a JW sister I had dated 14 years prior told him I had said hi to her in passing at the assembly. He didn’t lay a hand on me. Two JW brothers restrained him. I was on crutches after a recent knee surgery. The coward wouldn’t have been so quick to attack me if I hadn’t been on crutches. And his wife had lied to him . I never spoke to her at all. I remember thinking I am at a JW circuit assembly. There is no safer place to be. Boy was I wrong. I went to my car and got my tire iron for protection. I told the elders there that I would have called the police if I had been assaulted. They said that would bring reproach on Jehovah’s organization. I got my children and drove home. What a coward attacking someone on crutches because his wife lied still bitter about a breakup that happened 14 years earlier.
Holy cow! So basically keeping up appearances is more important that individual safety... yeah, that tracks. 🙄 Literal insanity. Glad you were okay, thanks for watching! -Falon
This is outrageous! That person should have been escorted from the assembly hall and a full report filed with the world headquarters and his congregation. It would not surprise me if he was an "elder" or a "ministerial servant." I am very sorry this happened to you and your children. If it had been me, I would have consulted a lawyer
Thank you so much for covering this extremely sad story. It needs to be talked about and you could be saving someone's life by doing this. There have been so many people in the "truth" that have totally creeped me out and I have went against my better judgement because of all the talks like you brought out about us living in a spiritual paradise. When I was in my late teens early 20's I would be assigned to work in some really scary places, with other young people. Or I have worked in service with some of the JW'S who were mentally ill and hearing voices while we were going door to door. One time when I was newly married and we both were pioneers there was another couple in the hall both pioneers also. I somehow wound up at the hall alone and this other elder was there he wanted to keep his time going and told me to go with him for an hour until his wife would meet up with us. I didn't want to and told him so, I told him it wouldn't look good as we were in a small town being sent there because the need was great and I lot of the town knew me as I was waitressing to help cover the cost of pioneering. He pressured me into going against my better judgment and I went. This guy totaled creeped me out and until this day I still can't stand him. I am fairly sure Whitney probably felt the same way I did. It all so crazy. My husband was the only elder for awhile when we were first married. That was fun 😔 we really didn't have a marriage as he was gone all the time. One night a very mentally ill brother called us up at about 10 in the evening telling us he was going to come over and murder us. At the time my husband was the only elder, so he called an elder in the next hall over and asked this brother to call the mentally ill guy. The elder called us back about 2 hours later, this elder had been on the phone with the mentally ill guy the whole time and said he felt we should leave our house as this guy was truly crazy. The next morning my husband called Bethel about what had happened and the first brother my husband spoke to said GO TO THE police immediately. We were heading out the door when someone else from Bethel called back and said whatever we do to NOT GO TO THE POLICE period! It would bring reproach on Jehovah's name. My husband and I were such true believers we listened until the next congregation over got a restraining order against him and locked the hall when the meeting started because he was threatening to murder people in that hall. Finally we got a restraining order against him. Bethel doesn't care about it's members and unless ones like you speak out people will get hurt, or worse killed. Thank you so much for what you are doing.

First off, im sorry for your loss, Falon. Secondly, in regards to someone telling you to grieve modestly, they should've been pulled to the side and told how inappropriate that was. This isn't to judge you, of course, as i am impressed by your strength during the ordeal. Edit: fuck that woman who tried to use your grief against you to try to bring you back to the organization.
Thank you for your support! It was definitely a surreal experience. I couldn't even IMAGINE saying that to someone, much less at a funeral. Crazy! -Falon 🤪
I remember this happening. Im from Eugene and knew the family. Do you remember hearing about Ken Mort? He was an elder who was k*lled by his daughters abuser in the Lowell Kingdom Hall
It was literally, in the kingdom hall... As in during an elders Friday nite meeting. He came in with a shotgun and killed Ken. He tried to flee but was apprehended hours later. The organization brought in a DO (still had them) and they called a special meeting for the congregation, where this guy told the congregation to NOT talk about it... Then they closed that hall down and sold it ..a few years later.
@@gr8lydeceved663 yeah it was messed up. The organization really played clean up after. I was there for the special talk by the DO. Seemed super sincere at the moment but now it seems like a big HR clean up. I truly believe the DO seemed sincere but couldn't process how maybe their policies got a man murdered and another child to be abused. The whole elder body was there when it happened and were also held at gunpoint by Riley. The Cottage Grove congregation even had their elders take care of the next few weeks of meetings so the current elder body didn't have to do any parts for the meeting. Yeah the whole congregation got sold off and now people have to drive like 25 minutes one way to another town for meetings.
When my Grandpa died. I was at his body saying goodbye. The rest of.my family all sitting in the room. I'm very sensitive and intuitive. I could feel my ex jw family in shock but grieving. One aunt a jw was grieving. The other jw ones were like smiling and or non emotive. I realize now .their hope forces them to disassociate from their feelings. I feel that made it hard for even me to say goodbye feeling such repression from my jw family. I love them so much but they were not able to publicly grieve.
It’s like the nonsense “experiences” from the platform of JWs being trusted for whatever reason by worldly people. This “honest & trustworthy” just because they are JW is why children are allowed alone with people not their parents or family members. It places them in dangerous situations. There are enough people who have shared their CSA that was a result of parents trusting the perp because they were JW. I feel fortunate to not have experience CSA, despite my JW mother’s absolute trust in the congregation members. My kid has never stepped one foot in a KH and I certainly would never have trusted their well-being to a JW for reason of being JW. To be fair, I didn’t trust my mother with him either due to attempts at indoctrinating them.

Im going to tell you I worked for hospice for over 20 yrs. Not once did i push my then faith and ideas on my consumers. I loved them and respected their beliefs.
Listening to that convention interview literally made me feel nauseous and feel like vomiting, I'm not exaggerating about that. The way the brother asked the questions was so "on brand", and it sounds like a lot of what she said was edited by a team of writers. I've been on assembly parts, and I know how they dress up what the person is saying during rehearsals.
This story was heartbreaking! Thank you for sharing. The exploitation of Whitney's Mom by the org is gut wrenching but not surprising. In my research into this situation it looks like this happened in October of 2012. So now 12 years have passed. Her husband and family were told they would see Whitney soon. Resurrection was just around the corner. Unfortunately imho they will die waiting to see Whitney resurrected. My Sister has waited 17 years for her husband to be resurrected. My Mom passed in 2021 after waiting 30 years to see her Mom resurrected. Jws it's a fairy tale.
That’s so tragic. I know an older woman in the congregation I was born in who is still waiting for her husband to be resurrected. He passed away in 1979. She said something like “No I don’t want to get married again. I’m just gonna wait for Jerry. He was the one for me.” - Jason

This is a horrible incident that happened but also I know about what happened in Smurf girls family how her uncle axed his brother and his sister-in-law who was pregnant and killed them both in front of their 3 year old son and he'd been accused of CSA for many many years and Smurfs girl has so much information from the top about the organization and her story is just absolutely horrendous and sad and so is this one and I my heart pours out to both families and to Smurf girl and her family and I just hope that more people become aware of the issue of that nowhere in this world ever truly a safe space. It won't be until Christ returns and does away with this wicked system. And yes I am an ex JW😢 that has a horrible story of my own but I won't go into that.
Oh boy, how I agree! I lost my daughter to drowning at 23 months and they hijacked the funeral, my husband and I were still in shock and they're carrying on about the new system and the parlour had sliding doors that were almost closed on my husbands family members. I still get ropable when I think about it. Years went by and I did leave 3 times! last one I didn't go back...I knew that they stopped normal familial love (unconditional), they remove critical thinking, remove natural instinct and we just obeyed the aliens who taught robotism; Is that a word? I tell my sons that I love them and I show it by my talk, my support, my touch and when I pray it is with a spiritual fullness that has allowed me to grieve my whole life in that cult, and now to study and know God and His Son is peace, no fear at all. The 'stuff' I know about those who say they are JW's would fill a grocery bag if I wrote them down; incest, CSA, declaring bankruptcy, seduction of married brother with a flippant "see you in a year!" propositions galore, homosexual men and women. Well, I was in and out over years and I'm 83 soon so I've seen and heard a lot. Shame it's all bad but I still want those in to get out.
@evvalynnv7414 I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your sweet girl! I cannot imagine what your family went through & I wish you had the opportunity to naturally grieve without the organization interference. What chaos they've brought to peoples lives... thank you for listening 😔 -Falon
@Falon, as you told the hug/whisper story, I felt like telling that person, "It's all a lie." The thing I've actually found, is that they all believe that those who've left, still believe it. That you just don't want to follow the rules. It's so frustrating. They are strongly delusional in their way of thinking about those who've left. Re: The Governing Body. Do you guys think they actually believe it all. Do they believe what they are spewing? Or do you think they know exactly what they're doing and they are just enjoying the power? Lastly, regarding the CSA, my dad was a parole officer. Years ago, my sister was looking on one of those sites you can search for criminals near you- or something like that. Anyway, she came across a man listed on the site, who my dad brought over all the time. He was a convicted child molester and he was bringing him to our house. My sister told my dad about this when she found the information and he yelled at her. He accused her of trying to cause problems and defended this guy, saying that it's all in the past. So I doubt my dad would blink about any of the CSA issues (which help a lot of people wake up) and that makes me so sad.
There was a similar incident where I live in Audible, New York. Perpetrator was a JW was married had children and picked up a young girl on her way to the store not a JW he brutally murdered her and raped her, then buried her body in her parents backyard crime of opportunity. It was his wife was a JW and she knew about it. He told his wife about it she knew all these years. murder was on unsolved crimes on TV. They never solved it until years later, please check into it very interesting story her name is Carrie Dixon not sure if a c or k
Shouldn't she have said " I dont think its appropriate for me to give you a ride, call one of the brothers" ? Yes but her husband didnt train her to do that, & if he did try to teach his wife not to trust other men, she would most likely accuse him of being Jealous 😮
I’m of the mind that she did nothing wrong. Yes, it was unorthodox to ride in a car with a man that she wasn’t married to. But we don’t know when he pulled the gun. It could’ve been before they got in the car or after. Either way she should’ve been able to trust that he wouldn’t murder and r@pė her. Particularly since the governing body paints a picture of safety within the congregation. And even after her death, they didn’t disclose at the convention that the perpetrator was an active Jehovah’s Witness. - Jason
I was taught that too. For propriety reasons. But we don’t know if he pulled the gun on her before or after they got into the car. Regardless the org doesn’t teach that you might be murdered by a fellow JW. And even after it happened, they had the opportunity at the convention when the mother was interviewed to disclose that it was another JW who did the killing. They specifically did not do that.
Years ago, on Long Island, an elder was having an affair with a young married jw woman who lived on his premises. On the night the elder was being disfellowshipped for that affair, The young woman's husband showed up at the kingdom hall and tried to shoot the elder with a longgun. Agreed. If the org dropped their deceit and high-control ways, we could all quit this activism/apostate stuff. This costs Falon and me money to do this. I also was df many years ago. Watching the broadcast made me start to question. It was about 18 mos ago or less that a gb said that their will be false statements in the news. I started to wonder what they were hiding. I found out about ARC and spiraled from there. I still believe in Jehovah and Jesus and a resurrection, but I feel there is something very wrong in the org.
This event happened in October 2012 and I thought they said that Jonathan Holt was inactive ??!! I also remembered that he blamed the incident on a black guy ??!! I maybe mistaken.
I actually re-read the news articles and they said that he was an "irregular" attendee. This was sad. On my way to Haiti I met a young girl from an Oregon religious organization who said that her brother went to the same school as Whitney Heichel.
It's also important to note that most of the time, when someone is "inactive" this is usually attributed to "discouragement", not being in some kind of hot water with a judicial community or something similar. If anything, his victim may have felt pity for him. Terrible all the way around.
When I was a JW back years ago there was an Ethiopian immigrant sister who st@bbed her roommate and unalived her - I believe the sister was African American. The immigrant sister had clear and obvious m3nt@l issues and was DFd. She incredibly did not serve time very long in j@1l and was put in psych hospital for about 2 years. When she was released she ended up attending my hall! This was in Denver Colorado circa 2007/2008.
Jehovah's Witnesses cover evil they do so much, They don't say anything done in the congregation, They love themselves more than Jehovah who sees the heart, Jeremiah 17:9 -10, God is the one who sees the heart, and he is the one that should judge, l think they're making a mistake
Isn’t that interesting? The news did not prominently report that he was a fellow Jehovah’s Witness. But JW’s always act like news outlets love to slander the ORG’s good name.
@user-jt…. I know for a fact that whenever there’s a horrible crime and Witnesses are involved, be it victim or perpetrator, Watchtower gets in touch almost immediately to ask news channels and newspapers in the area where the crime happened to delete any mention the people involved were Jehovah’s Witnesses. They do this kind of damage control in order to keep up their pretence of godliness.

I don't want to get too into it. But.. JW's saying sex is bad makes this stuff happen. Sex isn't bad it's adults being adults consentually. I'm just saying sexual repression is a horrible thing.
What I don’t understand is why did she give him a ride ride when Jehovah’s Witness males and female females are not supposed to be alone together ever let alone in the same same car
Maybe he threatened her before he got in the car. Maybe she justified it because he was a JW and it was less than five minutes to her job. Maybe she felt like she couldn’t say no when a fellow Jehovah’s Witness asked a favor. We don’t know. But what we do know, is that she didn’t do anything wrong. He did. I’m reminded of the my book of Bible stories chapter: Dinah Gets into Trouble. No victim blaming here.
😢God is Love. Did Jesus Grieve , I have some family members who are Jehovah's Witness, and another of Did not cry. Jehovah's witnesses leaders tell them they will see their love ones in Paradise on earth. That's not true. 40:40
First off sorry for your loss. Absolutely terrible what happened to her. As an X JW, all witnesses know especially as women you are not aloud to be in a car alone with another man-Even if he’s from your congregation. That is stated from the governing body themselves.
I see your point. But riding in the car with someone of the opposite sex isn't strictly or explicitly forbidden. It's just discouraged for optics reasons. And I'm sure that Whitney justified it because Jonathan Holt was asking for a ride that would've been less than five minutes long. However, the GB DOES constantly make claims that the brotherhood is special and safe. -- Jason
@@DiffiCULTChildhood I know every congregation is different in what they think is right or wrong but if you follow The governing body’s rules this was a no no , no matter if it was 5 minutes away or not! Matthew 7:15 “ Beware of false prophets” We all make a choice, we all make mistakes, we are always learning, may God bless us all.
I think it hits the news no matter the religion. But when it’s JW on JW violent crime, in an org that claims to have a special brotherhood full of individuals drawn in by Jehovah himself, it certainly makes news worth sharing in my opinion. - Jason

In all fairness - this type of “trust” in people that come out of prison and are now “saved” is not in any way unique or uncommon. According to your reasoning then all churches and organizations that promote a fellowship among its adherents are now considered negligent and culpable in any negative outcome. I do not agree with your line of reasoning and although I have no love for the witnesses- I think what your saying is “sensationalism “ Instead why don’t you urge people to use “common sense “ with their interactions with others
I think that’s a perfectly valid argument for most religions, but the JW governing body teaches Jehovah’s Witnesses that they live in a “spiritual paradise” and “brothers and sisters” are completely trustworthy. Further, when given the opportunity at the convention after this murder, while interviewing the mother, they intentionally did not disclose that it was committed by a “brother.” This lack of transparency, was intentionally deceitful and puts members at further risk. I think other churches would’ve been more transparent and honest about it.
Now that I think about it, they didn’t even disclose that it was a murder. They just called it a “tragic death.” it was an opportunity for them to be honest with everyone at that convention. I was there that day and they failed to warn any of us. - Jason.
I agree with you. They - the GB - think only of their corporate interests when telling members to keep “Jehovahs” name clean. They wont be able to use their free labor to preach their false spiritual paradise if all this becomes widely known among their adherents. That would be the end of their multi-billion dollar business. And that is the whole crux of the matter. Please, though, remember those knocking really believe the lie. Try to “open eyes and not despise” those poor deceived people. Many lives are at stake there. 😢 Ask questions when they show up. “Why aren’t you allowed to grieve at the loss of loved one?” “Why are you told to put on a pretense of joy when you hurt so badly inside”? Questions can help them THINK (something they are not permitted to do on their own).
You obviously are not aware that Jesus himself gave the identifying mark of his true disciples as LOVE at John 13.35!! So WHAT IS WRONG with stating Jesus own words?? Some of your arguments have NO basis I guess in your mind most other churches have LOVE as their identifying mark when they join armies and go to war to kill other humans ??
Agreed, it’s true that it says that in John. But my point is that ALL religions are man-made and therefore aren’t special in any way. That is clearly shown by the wars and violence and CSA and inquisitions, and “holy wars” and bs. And to make a claim that ANY of them are special safe havens of love, is to open people like Whitney up to harm. Thank you for sharing your perspective tho. We’ve said it before and I’ll say it here; we like people who constructively disagree. - Jason, Atheist
Its disgusting what happened to Whitney. Also your argument about how JW are supposed to be safe in the congregation etc etc is also misguided and is weak. Every body expects to be safe in their churches, workplace and communities etc. Again the betrayal by the offender is horrific and unjust. But Jesus was also betrayed by someone he was close to and someone who was from his community. What I am saying is you need to pick your angle of discussion better.
The governing body makes claims that it is a safe brotherhood within JW’s. That it is a special bubble filled with brothers and sisters that we can trust. We even showed video of a governing body helper, making that exact claim. But reality shows that it’s no safer than any other organization. With millions of members you’re going to have a certain percentage of violent crime. I don’t think everybody does feel safe in their various communities because they don’t have leadership making claims that they are in a unique environment. Also, as for the story of Jesus, he was apparently aware that he was going to be betrayed by Judas Iscariot. At least he knew what was coming. He walked into it informed and accepted the terms. But even after this tragedy, the local convention elders were fine with trotting a grieving mother up in front of everyone interviewing her and then sneakily not disclosing that her daughter was killed by a fellow Jehovah’s Witness. What do you think? This makes JW leadership seem deceitful to me. It doesn’t seem at all similar to what the scriptures state happened with Jesus. Jason
You two need to stop pushing the idea that the organization is perfect how can it be perfect when it is made up of imperfect people. All religions have their own problems
Did you watch the video? We are not pushing forth the idea that the organization is perfect. Literally the governing body in the clips that we showed tries to claim that the organization is special and unique and a safe place. Our entire point is that the organization is nothing special and not perfect and therefore not blessed or directed by God- Jason

That separation is happening right now

@@MariaNunes-po5rcThe scriptures does say wolves in sheep’s clothing

Crazy! -Falon 🤪
@@semi-animatronic9773 I agree totally the scammers try to convince you to return to Jehovah a 1600 named by a German pagan
And because they believe they will see her again they are unable to go through the grieving process which is so damaging.

I remember this happening. Im from Eugene and knew the family. Do you remember hearing about Ken Mort? He was an elder who was k*lled by his daughters abuser in the Lowell Kingdom Hall

@@DiffiCULTChildhood it's a messed up story that could have been prevented. I was reaching out to be a MS when it happened.
The fact that they used her mom on a convention stage is so disgusting!!
To be fair, I didn’t trust my mother with him either due to attempts at indoctrinating them.
at my fathers funeral the brother that gave the funeral sermon or talk knew my older brother my other older brother showed up my fathers sister in law who is a witness showed up the brother that gave the funeral sermon was upset that my other older brother did not show up sorry about what's happening sorry for any misspells .
So true it happen to me when my mom died I was ask to come back clear grieving process is very screwed up it does cause mental health issue and physical issues

Barf. This is what mainstream media does when interviewing family members of victims of a tragedy.
don't forget about the story of the Lillelid murders in Greene County, TN.. in 1997 😪
There was a similar incident where I live in Audible, New York. Typical 21 married for over a year. Omg this cult. So sorry for the loss one thing has nothing to do with the other.
- Jason
Are these men talking to people about the death of this woman? I dont understand what they are talking about. Nothing to do with the situation.

I was always taught that they only associate make to male and female to female when In public.
That's what they call trauma bonding

Well he sure became “inactive” after his incarceration.
It's also important to note that most of the time, when someone is "inactive" this is usually attributed to "discouragement", not being in some kind of hot water with a judicial community or something similar. If anything, his victim may have felt pity for him. Terrible all the way around.

I had know idea the murderer was a Witness.
He did.

And I'm sure that Whitney justified it because Jonathan Holt was asking for a ride that would've been less than five minutes long.

interesting when its a J W it hits the news when its catholic or any other its What else is new
I think it hits the news no matter the religion. But when it’s JW on JW violent crime, in an org that claims to have a special brotherhood full of individuals drawn in by Jehovah himself, it certainly makes news worth sharing in my opinion. - Jason
Hebrews 1:5-14
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?
6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.
7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.
8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore* God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.
13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool*?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
In all fairness - this type of “trust” in people that come out of prison and are now “saved” is not in any way unique or uncommon.
According to your reasoning then all churches and organizations that promote a fellowship among its adherents are now considered negligent and culpable in any negative outcome.
I do not agree with your line of reasoning and although I have no love for the witnesses- I think what your saying is “sensationalism “
Instead why don’t you urge people to use “common sense “ with their interactions with others
Some of your arguments have NO basis
I guess in your mind most other churches have LOVE as their identifying mark when they join armies and go to war to kill other humans ??
It doesn’t seem at all similar to what the
scriptures state happened with Jesus.
Jason
Are you guys saved by Jesus Christ after you left JW? The only way to be saved is believing in Jesus.
I was saved by Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens. - Jason
…and Jerry A. Coyne, and Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Bill Maher, and Carl Sagan.
YOU PEOPLE ARE DISRESPECTFUL TO JEHOVAH'S WORD.
@@shanninjaninalucas8947 thank you. 😌 - Jason
