Lovely fisherman's townhome in a great location. The historic villa broke my heart! How could the owners have let it get into such disrepair? The city should buy it and restore it as a historical and archaelogical site to be preserved. Thank you for sharing.

I like having a tracking device and layout but your brioche at first looks a bit like a turd LOL...then you said what it was. The first house nice Air Bn B or local variant too tight for long term. The seond house wow but 3.5 million to renovate or more?

You've really hit the spot with this 4 unit property! I just LOVE the multiple outdoor spaces for the top unit. Quick question: Do the 3 units for (potential) rent require licenses or have licenses that are already registered? I've been to a few countries/areas that do require short-term rental permission. As mentioned by others, your selections and presentations are far superior to some other similar channels! And I truly appreciate your work!

I personally didn't like Ortigia. It was smelly, dusty and cats everywhere. Lots of tourist traps. Mainland Siracuse has some areas with deep poverty and crime. It doesn't have a good sea access and the swimming options are very limited. Properties are overpriced due to the tourism. Best place to buy in Sicily, if you want to be by the beach in a historical town is Trapani - stunning beaches, access to the airport, cheap properties, access to different islands to hop over.

No way it cost just €100k to completely renovate a large old building in the city center to the spec of the first villa. No way. I don’t believe it. Add a zero to it.

The trouble with Sicily and a lot of Southern Europe , there is a serious water shortage , and temperatures are becoming unbearable , any body considering life in Sicily must understand this is a major problem and in a 5 /10 yrs could make this area unliveable in summer , this will affect everything , Sorry guys but Global warming is here so choose wisely 🤔

Sicily was not part of Magna Grecia, but that was just southern Italy. Sikeliot cities were free or dependant from Syracuse. There were wars about this issue in Ancient time. In Middle Age all cities were built packed, because of defense from chevalry, it is not arab invention.

I'm so glad you made it to Sicily and to Siracusa in particular. How apt is the quote about not visiting unless you're prepared to forever long for the place. There is such a unique energy in Sicily - always unpredictable, sometimes worse than predicted, sometimes better - often both at the same time! I went there for the first time, as a chronically restless person, and thought "Here! This is It!" and I have been going back ever since whenever possible. I hope you make another visit to Sicily soon. There are so many interesting places with their own contemporary feel - Salemi, home of the 1 euro house and now apparently attracting international creatives, would be a great place to have a look at. Ragusa and Modica. Anywhere in Sicily please!

The drought and long term climate change do not favor Sicilia. A number of areas are on water restrictions and need to have water trucked in. Poor management and wasteful ag practices are making the situation worse. I truly wish the best for Sicilia.
