Thyme is my favorite herb too! It's my secret ingredient for fried eggs. My plant I make everyone smell is kaffir lime leaves. Jacques, show us your lemon verbena! Jacques' new obsession is going to be creating flavored oils & vinegars.

My first view of your podcast very cool 7 yrs lol well I guess been living under those rocks in the pond😮 my mom built a pond in the backyard here it hasn't been maintained but it has a fountain it's probably 2 1/2 meters Incorporated with some underground water drainage system because the backyard always flooded. Anyhow the backyard used to be so beautiful one of these days the beauty will return I still like it right now it's just a little junglee. I love your guys channels 😊super 🤩 cool my mom had koi all kinds of beautiful water plants my aunt will bring up from Florida ❤... Make some chili crisp oil thing so delicious! I'd try your eccentric recipes. We had a Hungarian neighbor beautiful garden front yard backyard a stones throw from DC she was probably 80 20 years ago TMI. Looking forward to the next podcast. thanks 😊

An added note: I gardened in NW Oregon for decades so can relate to Ana's experiences in Seattle, then moved to Arizona. Growing herbs is different as is to be expected, but I fully intend to master it. As with you both, herbs would be my one penultimate category of plant to grow if I could only choose one. Thanks for giving me more food for thought! Cheers.

I really learn something new every season gardening in NE FL but it's getting better. One thing I'm super thankful for with my pure sand ground is it has superior drainage for our summer storms. But the rest of the time, yep... raised beds mostly haha. Jacques I suggest when you cut your okra, just throw them straight into a bag in the freezer and when you have enough built up, make a gumbo! And Everglade tomato is solanum pimpinellifolium. One thing I'm going to try next year that isn't supposed to grow here is poppies! Seeds are cheap so I'm giving it a try!

As a beginner gardener, I have to say the IFAS gardening monthly gardening graphics are missing a key detail... What does "plant" (verb) mean? If it means transplant, then when are we supposed to start seeds? It doesn't help that most gardening calendars have the same issue. IFAS does have a chart for vegetables that I find incredibly difficult to make sense of because they put everything in one chart and then added footnotes that are still a bit convoluted.

I live full-time in an RV in zone 9b and I kept a sugar pie pumpkin plant in a reasonably sized plastic tote with drainage holes in the bottom of the sides. It was thriving even though my summer hit 125°F multiple weeks and we had to move camp a few times my garden travels with me, trust me it takes some effort but it can be done with some quick thinking and creativity. There was a couple of days that I had to chase the shade for some plants like the garlic😂 to keep it alive
