My first car was a 56nbaby blue hardtop in 1970 with 265 power glide sweet, no actually they had put a 283 in it!

I`m 70. My first car at 17 was 56 Chevy that my buddy had installed a DZ 302 out of a wrecked 68 Z-28. we couldn`t afford a 4 speed and I went through 3 each 3 speeds and one rear end. It would scream. I sold it ot another buddy who pulled the engine for his chevy truck. he kept the 56 up in the mountains at his dad`s place. He still has it, although all the pans are rusted out, the eyebrows on the front fenders, and the rear quarters are rusted. No interior, didn`t even look at the trunk.

Any chance you car chicks would care to make a trip out to BC? That's where I am and I also used to have a '78 GMC Pickup 3/4 ton 350 with a standard tranny. In fact mine was almost the same colours except for a bit darker yellow and a yellow roof. I can tell that you don't have the original box on your truck because the gas filler is behind a door. Originally it had the cap sticking out of the hole. But if you were here, I'd show you my '97 GMC shortbox/extended cab Kodiak Edition (also a standard) and my '30 Model A Coupe. Been haulin' a bike for a while behind my RV. Might want to put a couple extra straps on the there, one around the tire by the fork. Cannot hurt to be a little extra safe. Don't want to get there and find the bike is not there.

It depends what you ate after. If you are looking for consistent shifts and consistent drag race passes the automatic trans can be set up for consistent reliable passes. If you are one that likes control of everything , then the manual Trans is the answer.

It did not come with a 327ci engine, if it was a V8 it was a 265ci, 327 came out in 1962.... The 265 came out in 1955, 283 in 57...

I forgot that you had a 69 Camaro. My brother is currently building one. It will be a 418 cube stroked LS with a BIG cam - he's thinking about 600 hp, with a 4 speed auto and 3.73 gears. This thing will howl at the moon and still get 25 or mpg (that's Imperial mpg, because we're in Canada, eh).

Those are not holes, that is weight reduction and ventialtion.
