Oh, the disappointment in your expression when there was a missing rocker set…felt so bad for ya. Man, those column blinkers CAN be a pain. Had the same issues in my ‘57 truck. FINALLY got it working correctly. Love the Tempest, do all the videos ya like on it! Thanks Danny for being patient and working through the ‘bugs’. 🍻 Enjoyed it guys!
Hey Olivia...you ought to try a product called 'invisible gloves'. It's like a hand lotion that you wear when working around oil and car grime. It works great, the oil and grease will wash right off your hands using non-abrasive soaps; platinum dawn is what I use to wash my hands. One more thing You might find out which backlight LEDS are used in you digital gauge set. Buy one that is an exact match, swap it in for the gear selector illumination bulb. Run a dedicated ground wire to the LED. The light color would be an exact match.
I was lookin at some of the comments and seems you are the only one who noticed. My mouth dropped when I seen her doin that.Obviously no one has taught her the correct way to use a precision tool!
The cancel cam issue usually is a result from over tightening the three screws. The hazard not flashing can be due to a brake pedal ground not making proper contact or interfering with the hazard ground. (The hazards will flash as long as you dont press the brake) but if you hold the brake pedal while using the hazard it will just stay on. At least that's the problems i have with my 69 C20 whenever I have to replace that stupid broken turn cam.
You gave me the inspiration to go out to the garage and fix the annoying things on my '68 Mini. Stuck left (passenger side window, it's right-hand drive you see), rattle at 1500 RPMs on driver's side dash area, rattle in back left window, and I too have a non-canceling left turn signal. It's good you are picky with Big Wave. I am too with my classic.
This video convinced me to steer clear of fixing my 1965 Nova wagon turn signal switch...thanks for taking the bullet so I didn't have to lol. Congrats on the new shop...you 2 deserve the best.🤟🏼
I'm happy you got your stuff sorted! I just did my turn signal and my headlight adjustment in the last couple weeks! so funny, I have that same sewing machine/exhaust leak sound on my lifters and was thinking of doing the trunnion upgrade to get ride of it....might actually be pushrod length after considering your switch. ahhhh the daily driven hotrod life 🤣
I was home today and saw you Pontiac / rockers/ turn signal show... oh fantastic tee design.. Escondido guy here. I watched most all your shows I understand how hard it is to produce and I appreciate it very much. What is nice about your show is the honesty, hard work, and personal touch you all have . Plus its California show I LOVE IT!
Its the lifters! Run Royal Purple 20W50 HPS oil and it will quiet up a lot. Also run the longest pushrod you can to put the plunger towards the bottom of the lifter.
Fixing that turn signal switch, brought me right back to when I was a kid. Our 67 Tempest broke that switch just like yours, but it broke about a week before I was scheduled to take my drivers test. So my folks had the local Pontiac dealer fix it, and that saved the day. Love those 67 Tempests !
Glad the rocker arms quieted your noise in engine. The steering column turn signal replacement is tedious. Danny never heard of a light bulb condom 😀. Great Job. The headlights just matter of the adjustment. Thank you. For sharing! 💯👊👍❤️
That steering wheel brings back memories, my mom had a 1967 Firebird with the same one! Great to see you doing all this work, so often I find jobs taking 5X longer that I think when doing it right, nice job! That engine sounds great.
In 1977 I bought my first car, a '67 Tempest, 4 door, 6 cylinder OHC, 2 speed auto transmission. First gear would go from 0 - 70 mph before shifting if I nailed the gas pedal. I paid three hundred for the car, and three hundred for a total engine rebuild. I drove it for 10 years and 110,000 more miles before I sold it. I loved that car and I have dreams about it. And then I sold it for three hundred clams. Best car deal ever.
I really enjoyed your video. I guess I’m not the only one who experiences frustration when trying to repair an old car. BTW: you can use JB Weld to fill the cracks in your steering wheel to repair it. Open the cracks with a saw or Dremel tool, pack the compound in and sand it smooth when it dries.
I love your Tempest! My first car was a 66 Tempest, 326, AT, i was 15 in 1978. Had it for 2 years, then drove it to when it snowed, i spun into a road sign & bent it in bad behind the pass door. The rear seat almost hit the headliner. The trans case broke, ran out of fluid & only got a mile from home. I rebuilt the motor & had it ready for paint right before i got my license. The interior was dark green & perfect. I miss not having another one when 4 of my buddies had Leman's, from 66-71 & one a real 64 GTO
I’ve been chasing the same exact engine noises on the 6.0 in my ‘19 Silverado, drives me up the wall! I was pretty much saying every symptom along with you 😂. Guess it’s time to try some new rockers!
Well done Guys! Awesome job! Those steering columns are almost always, an absolute nightmare! They suck! That's why a lot of Hot Rod people replace them with an aftermarket unit. Most of them are all worn out, and worthless! An expensive move, though, for sure.
Nice car! I have a new project a 66 Tempest. Love the stacked headlights on the Ponchos. Was wondering what size wheels and tires you are running on yours? Keep up the good work!
I had a similar Pontiac back around 1973. Think it was a Lemans. Had a 326 in it and was a nice daily driver. Hardly paid anything for it and it ran real good for about 5 years. Sold it for $60
know what you mean olivia about turn signal work. i had a similar issue with my 56 belair, proud of you fo digging in there and fixing those little things that can sure bug you after awhile, cant wait to hear new announcment. thanks to Danny for jumping in to help out
Hey Liv, your Tempest is one of my favorites in your fleet! I feel ya on steering column work, it's such a pain. I had to fix the same problems on a '61 Ford Falcon and it was an absolute nightmare! Those little annoyances can really put a damper on the driving experience, glad you got it all sorted out. Have you and Danny ever considered going on Hot Rod Power Tour? I'd love to see you guys there with one (or two) of your cars!
Just an FYI, LS engines are known for ticking injectors that can sound like lifter noise. It is not an issue, just a nuance of the engine. My 2014 C7 Corvette had it, and in the Corvette forums it is known to be a non-issue. That said, I'm not saying yours is not a rocker issue, just wanted to make you aware of the LS ticking injectors. Love your channel!
Yeah, surprised that “car experts” didn’t know this. Must not have inspections where they live. In Arizona and Texas you won’t pass inspection with lights that aren’t aligned correctly.
Good job Olivia. But Danny to the rescue lol. Good job guys. The old tempest sounds good. Any reason you have no fender liners? You can always make you some custom ones.
If Holley makes single headlight units I would love to get a set for my '56 Buick. I have had halogens in the car for use, but they pull a lot of Amps which is tough on my generator.
Blinker.. I can see that was replaced before cousin or factory original ones are white. Hopefully your new red one holds up. It's kind of a delicate part of the car.😊
I'm biuldind replicas of the Tempest and Hank but I need alot more info and pics from Hank , I have no idea what the motor is or what it looks like , also I need more pics of the patina , I do very accurate work on my reps so info is very important ,
Did you get your part from Summit Racing or a refund? Sorry you had to deal with that. Hope the new parts make you happy and gets rid of the noise you didn't like. So glad the "bulb condom" was safe. Thanks for the laugh Danny! 😂😂😂, Nice fix on the turn signal cam issues too, didn't know what a pain they could be. Did you guys figure out the column shift locator not lining up? I thought this was mentioned in another video. Thanks for sharing. 🍻
If you are thinking about getting aftermarket style coil packs, don't waste your money. You won't have any advantage with aftermarket ones and you will see shorter life
I've unsubscribed from all my other car channels except for you guys and a select few others that actually relate to us peons on a budget/shade tree mechanics....now if you could just ship merch overseas...😂
Well....crap. You lost me at the bellybutton LS motor. I'd have stuck around for a tri power or a 455 but no....just another bellybutton. I yawned my way through decades of 350 in everything under the sun and now it's the LS. I'm gonna go check the other side of youtube, see if there's a McCulloch blown 327 Packard Eight or something of interest.
Oh, the disappointment in your expression when there was a missing rocker set…felt so bad for ya. Man, those column blinkers CAN be a pain. Had the same issues in my ‘57 truck. head light adjustments are made by measuring 25 ft. back and 3 ' up from the ground .
Its amazing how the little fixes, make the biggest differences in a daily driver! Keep up the great work!
Hey Olivia...you ought to try a product called 'invisible gloves'. It's like a hand lotion that you wear when working around oil and car grime. It works great, the oil and grease will wash right off your hands using non-abrasive soaps; platinum dawn is what I use to wash my hands. One more thing

THATS A TORQUE WRENCH!!! Not a breaker bar!!!
Multi tool, can also be used as a hammer.

Agree I've also seen some bad oil filters that have plastic parts and NAPA filter are made by Wixs and have all metal parts.
yep

IF IT'S THAT FRUSTRATING SELL IT AND BUY A NEW CAR AND STOP BITCHING ABOUT IT!!
I love your Tempest! My first car was a 66 Tempest, 326, AT, i was 15 in 1978. Had it for 2 years, then drove it to when it snowed, i spun into a road sign & bent it in bad behind the pass door. Good job , i hate the column to😱 bless you guys✌️
I’ve been chasing the same exact engine noises on the 6.0 in my ‘19 Silverado, drives me up the wall! I was pretty much saying every symptom along with you 😂. Guess it’s time to try some new rockers!
I got my shirt fast when it shipped, love the sticker too, it's definitely going on the toolbox. Love everything you guys do!
Yay! Glad it got to you quickly and thank you for supporting the channel. :)
Well done Guys! Awesome job!

Great video as always. I look forward to them, got in early and was glad to see the likes clicking on as I watched.
Nice work you two...keeping the old girl looking good.
know what you mean olivia about turn signal work. i had a similar issue with my 56 belair, proud of you fo digging in there and fixing those little things that can sure bug you after awhile, cant wait to hear new announcment. thanks to Danny for jumping in to help out
Have the same issue with my 56 Bel Air also. Was hoping to learn more, but seemed to skip over the real fix for that
Liv, enjoy watching the build of the Tempest, just a tip, never use a torque wrench to loosen anything.
Agreed. Mistake on my part!
Hey Liv, your Tempest is one of my favorites in your fleet! I feel ya on steering column work, it's such a pain. I had to fix the same problems on a '61 Ford Falcon and it was an absolute nightmare! Glad everything works like it should now! What kind of mufflers did you go with? Sounds good...watching from Tx!
Look at the confidence! The lady wears a WHITE SHIRT for mechanicing!
I can't even drink coffee without dribbling on myself!
I cant stand when a car makes a noise that drives you insane. Glad your digging in to find and fix yours. Keep grinding!
Awesome you got the noise away Liv!!!
Merry Christmas Olivia 🎄🎄🎄
Beautiful cars and so are you! 😊
Headlights aren't meant to be even hight. Drivers low should point down slightly and in a tad. This makes it less annoying for oncoming cars.
Yeah, surprised that “car experts” didn’t know this. Must not have inspections where they live.
In Arizona and Texas you won’t pass inspection with lights that aren’t aligned correctly.
I stand corrected, my 2014 had a LT1, so my comments only applied to the LT1 not the LS engines. Sorry for the confusion!!
Great job fixing those problems guys!
Good job Olivia. But Danny to the rescue lol. Good job guys. The old tempest sounds good. Any reason you have no fender liners? You can always make you some custom ones.
Damn, been a while since i got a notification. Hate to see the I6 gone and another LS taken up home, good luck keeping it from making noise lol
My 08 pontiac g6 had the same problem with the turn signal. Amazon sold the replacement part for $40.
If Holley makes single headlight units I would love to get a set for my '56 Buick. I have had halogens in the car for use, but they pull a lot of Amps which is tough on my generator.
New subsriiber.. Great camera and editing 😊
Very impressed good job.
The fuel injectors in your throttle body will also produce a sewing machine type sound I found out with my holley terminator
I have the same intake and throttle body setup as you do. Does your IACV make a extremely loud/annoying sucking sound?
The signal have a flasher and the emergence ueses another flasher so 2 flasher .
Blinker.. I can see that was replaced before cousin or factory original ones are white. Hopefully your new red one holds up. It's kind of a delicate part of the car.😊
Exactly column's are a pain, don't drop anything down that column ,you'll never fish it out !
That was very funny. Practice safe lighting. Not sure if anybody else got that, but that was funny.
really love the tempest videos. what a great car!
Does the tempest have body work and paint in its future or are you leaving it patina?
Next time you pull the rocker arms pull all the bolts and grab the aluminum rail below and pick up all at one time
I've used a needle nose syringe to lube column bearing.. simple and quick
I bought a zip up hoody and it fits great and the material, metal zipper was a 10. Thank you.
We're so happy to hear this!! Thank you for supporting the channel Rod. I specifically remember packing up your order haha 😄
Needle bearings are totally the way to go. They use them on 2-cycle connecting rods.
What size is that LS? I think I missed that video…
I'm biuldind replicas of the Tempest and Hank but I need alot more info and pics from Hank , I have no idea what the motor is or what it looks like , also I need more pics of the patina , I do very accurate work on my reps so info is very important ,
Email me! I will send you all the info. Thank you SO much! 🙏 olivia.scaffidi@gmail.com
Just think, you got more looks and speed in that car than DeLorean could do himself. Nice job!
You go girl
What about the cracks in the steering wheel. That does not cause any issues?
Is the crack in the steering wheel hub causing a problem?
Thanks for slipping in the scare! 🤣
Try nail polish to color light bulb for gear indicator
buddy did the reach around in public, but def gotta expect set back these days
My Chevy has roller rockers but not roller tips. I did heads last week and didn’t even inspect rockers. 7th car in 4 yrs doing heads
So I went to the west power tour in Vegas got a lot of compliments on my gnarly speed shop shirt 🚗
i thought gnarly would be there for sure! 😥
That's so great to hear! Thank you for repping the merch! Wish we could have been there but a family thing came up.
@@GnarlySpeedShop no problem maybe another time will get to meet
Always check grounds on old GM cars. It's always the culprit on electrical gremlins.
Good Video...Thank You....wm
I'm exactly like you you it's the Little Thing's and have to tell you that you're a Beautiful Little Lady 🥰😍🔥🔥
Great video.. Not sure you did all that work in a white tee shirt and didn't get it dirty. If was me I would have had oil on it 2 mins into the video
Have a great Christmas Liv anDanny ❤
Same to you, Todd.
Inner wheelwells and an underhood insulation blanket would quiet that motor right down.
Get some limited travel lifters. The ls7 lifters are junk. The engine will rev higher and quicker too.
How about a GTO hood, and GTO wheels.
"Practice safe lighting" 😜
OMG ! The blinker job probably cost over $1500 at today's prices.,.😢😮
good job Olivia , hopefully the engine ticking noise doesn't come back again .
Parts availability is a pain in da
A##😁
What coil packs are you running?
Granatelli Motorsports coilpacks!
If you are thinking about getting aftermarket style coil packs, don't waste your money. You won't have any advantage with aftermarket ones and you will see shorter life
It’s nice seeing Olivia turning a wrench.
Change the shif lens , put the forth gear lens.
Good job again
Are you sure its not an exhaust leak?
I wish that I still had my GTOs.
Should be able to adjust the lights with the bezel on
I've unsubscribed from all my other car channels except for you guys and a select few others that actually relate to us peons on a budget/shade tree mechanics....now if you could just ship merch overseas...😂
Have to learn to embrace the Mic's!
placing wireless automotive mic on near noise may help.
My opinion, don't paint it, clearcoat it at the most.
New generation their phones r their pacifiers
Seriously with the lashes
Did I miss the horn?
Well....crap. You lost me at the bellybutton LS motor. I'd have stuck around for a tri power or a 455 but no....just another bellybutton. Good. Some content. Not just selling stuff.
My vo;ume is cranked and you don't have your mic's on! can barely hear you
It's plenty loud on my tablet. (?)
- Please use the new mics. so we can hear you.
