Another amazing thing about the movie ( considered by many one of the best ever made ) it that it all came from the mind of a master of the written word , Stephen King .

21:47 - the harder the difficulty level, the more passive your allies are, so that more of the combat falls to you. If you chose to play on very light, for example, Tess and Bill (etc.) would have helped out a ton by comparison. Them not doing much is more on your choice of difficulty than it is on them as characters :) .... 1:06:40 - I wouldn't necessarily have recommended making it lesss challenging in all categories, but custom difficulty by just altering one thing by one level (eg. making resources slightly more common as you didn't check everywhere or making allies a tad more aggressive so they were more useful if you got swarmed, etc.) may have impacted the game just enough to lower the stress a little, but not affecting the challenge too much. .... 1:11:01 - I may be wrong, but I think they do have a "track" that they will stick to unless they see/hear you. One or more of them saw/heard you when you walked out into the corridor, so they all followed into a different "zone" until they lost awareness of your location. That's why listening before moving into another area of a building, or at least crouching and moving slowly, can reduce the likelihood of them being alerted to your presence :)

I think it's brave to choose hard mode for your first attempt, but I think you made it harder for yourselves by not looking for loot much, as hard mode already reduces the resources available and it could be a little while before you find more. It took longer for you to catch on to things you would have found by exploring a bit more early on (like safes, lore, materials, etc.), but I think you've done well in spite of the things you've missed and it's nice to see how supportive you are of each other :)

I love Kim and Jimmy so much. They play them like a real couple. They respect each other. Jimmy comes into Kim's office and explains his screw-up and why he wants to represent himself so he isn't dragging her down and she listens and simply says "ok". There's no over dramaticised arguement, or relationship drama. It's probably my favourite aspect of BCS.

You mention how Jimmy's redeeming quality is that he actually loves Chuck unlike the other way around and it reminds me of what Mike told Danny after his drug deal with Nacho when he denyed being a criminal: "I've known good criminals and bad cops. Bad priests, honourable thieves... you can be on one side of the law or the other" [...] "You're a criminal. Good one, bad one... that's up to you". I see the McGill brothers as a duality of moral actions vs character. Jimmy is a good person who does bad things. Chuck is a bad person who does good things. Jimmy does everything he does out of love for Chuck, for Kim, for the 'little guy' clients he has who get shit on by people in higher power, just like how he sees himself. But the actions he takes to do so are shortcuts, schemes, scams and are staight up illegal a lot of the time. Chuck does everything he does out of hatred. Nothing in the show motivates Chuck to overcome his illness except when it's to strike Jimmy down. He used Jimmy's phone to call Howard to stop him hiring Jimmy. He made effort to come into the office to be in Jimmy's sandpiper meetings and scutinize his methods of client outreach. He went completely out of his way to come in to meet Kevin of Mesa Verde with all the lights and power on in the room, just to snipe them back from Kim, which he only cared to do after Howard told him that she and Jimmy would be sharing expenses. Everything he does is legal, and by the books, but it's always to get a malicious outcome.

When the brain and the mind breaks down the way that his did; it takes time for the brain to repair itself. Also, he should’ve been on medication. Unfortunately, I highly disbelieve he would get better without pharmaceutical help. These things don’t happen overnight. When the mind and the brain breaks down; you need medication to help the brain repair itself. One of the primary medications for this will be SSRIs. It’s one of the few medication’s that actually help the brain repair itself. So she was absolutely right that while initial healthy results can come quickly; it takes quite a while even years for the brain to repair itself. And for the brain to recover. And in a sense, you’re in recovery for the rest of your life.

You can really tell Howard feels bad for jimmy and hates what Chuck makes him do. Him calling Kim back to tell her the truth is the first hint he's really not a bad person.

This is the episode that fully had me hooked on this show. It was a slower burn than Breaking Bad which took until episode 3 when Walt killed Krazy 8, but it's such a satisfying gut-punch to first time viewers to see the true spiteful nasty person Chuck is after hiding it and scapegoating Howard for the first 9 episodes. What's truely sad is watching how happy Jimmy was over the last 2 episodes when he finally got to work with Chuck, it's all he's ever wanted since straightening out in the mail room and choosing to become a lawyer, and Chuck choose not to give his brother a real chance to change and shot him down, which leads to a self-fulfilling prophecy of Jimmy becoming Saul, the exact kind of lawyer Chuck was afraid of Jimmy being.
