    I'm so glad Mark Margolis got to reprise his role as Hector Salamanca before sadly passing away.

    Breaking Bad took place from 2008-2010, while the majority of Better Call Saul takes place from 2002-2004, with the parts after Breaking Bad taking place in 2010

    i think the twins are scarier in this show because you know they can't die

    • @ImmortalDecember
      @ImmortalDecember 2 месяца назад +6

      They are never scary to me lol - in fact the worst characters in both shows imo. Extremely gimmicky, pretentious to the point of comical. "Oooh we're so scary cuz we never talk or blink or run or walk fast or react normally we just stare and look stupid..." They're not real humans - totally breaks immersion. Plus you know Mike and his family can't die either.

      @ImmortalDecember Agreed. Totally out of place in this show. I mean, the world is slightly heightened anyway (Mike and Gus are both slightly ridiculous themselves) but they go WAY further. People like Tuco, Hector, Walt, Jesse, and Nacho actually exist in the real world; the twins definitely do not. They belong in corny Hollywood action movies, not fairly grounded crime dramas.

      They're cartoon characters. Probably my least favorite characters in both shows. I was hoping this BCS would flesh them out a bit.

    I never thought about it like that, but Jimmy and Chuck are kinda two halves of their dad. Chuck got all the morals; Jimmy got all the people skills.

    The salamancas have a lot of respect for people who are not afraid of them and have the balls to speak up against them. Tuco with Walter in season 1 of BB, now Hector with Mike

    The struggle with the travel mug brings to mind the old idiom "fitting a square peg into a round hole". Jimmy just can't deep down fit in with the average to upscale lawyerly life and way of doing things. He is a man of the people; a man who finds it easier to fall asleep in the backroom of a nail salon. As per usual, he goes the unorthodox free-spirited route and just takes out the holder.
    Related sidenote: in BrBa, there are multiple scenes where Saul has a "World's Best Lawyer" coffee mug.

    It's "poach", but I get why "scalp" came to mind. I think in the back of your mind you may have been thinking of "headhunter", which is a person at a company who recruits new employees.

    6:38 Wow. I'd never thought about it like that. Jimmy does have a way with people, the show makes it clear to show us that. But
    *MINOR SPOILERS*
    we'll come to find out a bit later that Jimmy's worldview is in contrast with that of his father's. The more I think about, the more this connection seems deliberate.

    Courtroom trial for most lawyers is like invasive surgery for doctors - it happens only in a low percentage of all cases, very risky and costly. I've heard that BCS is relatively realistic in its portrayal of the legal profession.

    If you wonder why they crawl on their belly to cross the border is because the US planted proximity sensors to detect movement taller than 3 feet. You can see where they were used in 1984 movie called "Flash Point" with Kris Kristpherson and Treat Williams. It's about a border agent that discovers a buried jeep and body plus fat stacks of cash in the desert that's been there for years. The whole movie is the agent figuring out who it was. Unfortunanly the budget was low for that film but the story itself was great.
