I've said this for the last couple of years that I have been a member of several sailing channels that those sailors that have and are raising their children will have the most well rounded future citizens than almost anyone else. They are being home schooled as well as traveling all over the world seeing and meeting different cultures, their language and mannerisms. And because of this, they will be accepted nearly everywhere they travel. Outstanding job to all of you parents.

Your acoustic experiment (10:33) was wonderful and amazing! The Romans (and Greeks) certainly understood amphitheaters and acoustic properties. How shameful, knowing the technologies and their understanding, that Western society has forgotten antiquity … all in the name of progress! It appears that the 21st century has regressed in so many ways, but … YOU sail by the wind, and entertain by your wits and skills. Onward and upward 🤺⚔️

11:32 Keeping the gearbox stuff & engine as seperate modules makes a lot of sense so the oil can be tailored to the application & the gearbox oil lasts a lot longer & engine heat is less of an issue for the gears & its easy to extract the gearbox by itself but there have been intances where the engine & gearbox have been combined, the mk1 mini & other BMC front wheel drive cars were an example.

I can't listen to anymore my friend. No oil no pressure no movement until pressure builds up. Oil lost through a worn seal at that point where it's splashing about. Replace the seal, top up the box and away to go. If you destroy the new seal quickly then you'll have to find out why your propshaft is turning egg shaped, not round and round

Boating is about fixing boats not sailing them. Think yourself lucky you are in the water - that's not the norm by any means 🙂 These people sailing around the World, sitting on tropical beaches and fishing huge tuna for their dinner - lies, video skills, photoshop, green screen. Maybe a few shots from when they first brought the boat back from where it was sold, then the last 5 years in the marina 🙂 Wrong... OK, drop me a line I'll come out for a couple of weeks to find out. Well it was worth a try 🙂

8:25 that reminded of working in a frozen food supermarket place back in 1977. We used to get frozen jam & whipped cream sponge cakes out of the freezer as a treat when working late on a Wednesday evening. The whipped cream & high sugar content jam froze to a crumbly consistency so the cake was edible straight out of the freezer, very yummy indeed.

I have a theory- the more imagination you have, the scarier sailing becomes! Well done on surviving the anchor drag. We have CQR's and they can be problematic. However after 25 years we'll stick with what we know, just make sure it really is set EVERY time you drop it.Trouble is a new generation anchor,ie Rocna etc, can be rather pricey. You pays your money and takes your choice! So lovely to have a partner who remains calm and focused on solving the problem. Big round of applause x
