Indiana Jones and the Great Circle - How it Impacts Bethesda's Future
So with the recent release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle I began to wonder how it may impact Bethesda's Future. This recent game was published by Bethesda Softworks and Todd Howard played a huge rule in it's creation, it's story and it's final release. The game has received glowing praise all over the internet with fans & critics alike agreeing that the game is a hit! After Bethesda's recent two releases Fallout 76 and Starfield both receiving negative reviews, this game indicates a huge upward improvement. But the question is, does this really have any impact on Bethesda? Does Indian Jones' success indicate any improvement from Bethesda? Well in this video I attempt to answer tha...

How Video Games Teach Patience & Perseverance
Просмотров 52312 часов назад
After playing video games for a long time, I have noticed some of them have taught me many skills that I apply in real life. Two of these skills include patience & perseverance. When I originally tried my hand at the "Souls Like" games such as Dark Souls 1, 2 & 3, I remember struggling greatly. The transition from a "friendly" game to a difficult game was a huge leap for me. Gamers have revered...

With the recent announcement that The Outer Worlds 2 is set to release in 2025, along with Avowed, Obsidian appear to be going through a strong period within their studio. The Outer Worlds 1 was a huge success for the studio and after the recent acquisition of the company by Microsoft, this project has had plenty of financial backing. After considering the fact that the first instalment average...

A recent article came out by Games Radar which provided quotes from Xbox Lead Phil Spencer. In the article he explained how after receiving negative reviews for Starfield's recent DLC, Shattered Space, they both had discussed the topic. Phil Spencer disclosed that Todd Howard's first thought was that the primary reason for critcism was due to their not being enough content in the expansion. He ...
A Day in the Life of a Video Game Voice Actor - Featuring Jas Patrick

Voice acting in video games has become more important than ever as time as gone by and technology has improved. From having essentially volunteers working the roles, to now full-blown actors motion captured into the games, the standards for voice acting have increased. It is a topic I have always been interesting in. After playing Octopath Traveler 2 I was amazed at the performance of one of th...
Why Do Some Game Studios Ignore Their Own Fans?!

After the recent release of Dragon Age the Veilguard it was evident that those most upset about the game were those who were long-time fans of the Dragon Age series. The game deviated so much from what they were used to that it didn't match anything they had expected. The series had gone in a completely different direction compared to previous entries. Dragon Age was the not the first game seri...

So with the recent release of Dragon Age the Veilguard I was lucky enough to get it on the release date courtesy of my wife! Metacritic gave generally favourable scores expect for the User Scores that gave it 3/10. With the reviews being so split, I asked myself ...

Fallout Day Showed Everything Wrong at Bethesda!

Bethesda just recently did a new yearly live stream entitled "Fallout Day" where they would celebrate everything Fallout and give fans of the series news and updates! After watching the most recent stream, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. Rather than cover all things Fallout, the entire stream solely focused on Fallout 76, Bethesda's online version. I have never been a fan of this game as...

Kingdom Come Deliverance - Is it Too Hard?
Thanks for sharing such valuable information! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
I have wanted a decent Indians Jones game for so long. It’s not great as a game without the IP (enemies are dumber than potatoes). But getting to be Indy in a decent adventure is just too fun. 8/10 for me. 6/10 as just a game.
Yeah, this video and a lot of the comments don’t seem to comprehend that Bethesda is just the publisher in this case. Machine Games is the developer. Bethesda and Bethesda Game Studios aren’t the same thing.
Elder scrolls online had potential but in my opinion was ruined by micro transactions and what seemed to me to be forcing you to grind on the same end dungeon boss to get any decent loot
I generally am against pre ordering games but I was excited to show support for these developers and pre ordered KCD2. Can’t wait to play it
I’ll definitely get my hopes up super high. It’s not like I’ve been disappointed by the hype before
This game is just...meh. Which for Bethesda is pretty good.
Are you saying Bethesda's "best" offering in ages was made by a 3rd party, Bethesda had little to nothing to do with it ? Not sure how to feel about that. I'm itching for a new open world to explore, maybe 2025 will offer something amazing.
Right? The game was published by Bethesda, not created by them.
They're not wrong though, the expectations have never been so high for any of their games. The elder scrolls 6 is like the GTA 6 of fantasy RPGs. Whether we like it or not, many fans build up hype beyond a reasonable level so they're inevitably disappointed with the end product even if it's good, that combined with the fact that starfield did poorly and that fallout 4 is regarded as worse than fallout new Vegas, a decent number of people are primed and waiting with baited breath to search for flaws in any new product Bethesda makes.
I'd like to play the game but the hardware requirements seem huge. I'm waiting half a year for a discount and hopefully some performance improvement and optimization.
Yeah I don’t think you need to rush into it. You can take your time with this one. It’s a good game but not a ground breaking game. I have enjoyed it but it hasn’t blown me away to the point I’d push others to play it immediately. I still think uncharted 4 was better.
Kingdom Come Deliverance was boring as F. Change the fighting style it's kinda tacky and boring to learn. And no one takes Ubisoft word for games since alot of there game have been absolutely terrible. Ubisoft is a joke of a gaming company and should be shut down.
I think you're confusing Bethesda the publisher with Bethesda the developer. It's the developer branch that can't write good characters and stories. This game was not made and written by that Bethesda, hence it's not boring and uninspired.
A cool idea I always thought would be cool with the Elder Scrolls would be using the Elder Scrolls and going to different universes and such. Such as going to a previous game maybe... How cool would it be if you clicked on the in game elder scrolls and wound up waking in the back of a carriage... "You're finally awake..."
What would actually make you unattractive is if you care what people think of your hobbies.
I played the first game, didn't finish it but I'm still looking forward to the next game because I really like the concept. 😎
I have a theory that no video game company will produce any new amazing product that will tide gamers over for years you know why?.....$$$ The big corporations that have taken over the gaming industry already have system in place. To produce half baked, watered down garbage month after month so that gamers never are satisfied, never are addicted in the game for a long time. They make them so we can get bored and move on to their next half baked piece of trash garbage. The video game industry as well as all entertainment and ALL media procuced are part of a controlled industry. Meaning the governements and secret societies that control this realm use all media to plant seeds of propaganda. My channel is a gaming, conspiracy, truther, astronomy, spiritual channel. I point out the patterns and repetition in all movies, television and video games, music and influencers. The point is these big gaming corpos have agendas to plant woke weird sjw but its really cultish woke stuff to confuse the minds of the youth and invert everything and make every one lgbtqxyz so that no one knows there are 2 genders, follow the corrupt system, believe the lies about reality and this world.
The game will probably be woke and watered down rpg with more pleasing visually. I disliked Skyrim and believe it to be overrated af. I grew up on Oblivion but have since moved backwards trying morrorwind and now Daggerfall unity a try. Starfield was a complete disaster as a veteran gamer with plenty of gaming experience, I didn't even need to buy it to see it would be disappointing. I can just watch any gameplay trailer and see the illusions and smoke and mirorr advertising tactics to lure in unsuspecting gamers.
Guys, just wait for The Todd Scrolls 6 We gonna see who's laughing now.
GET TO THE POINT
Ciri will make a great main character and she looks just fine in the trailer. She looks like she is capable - and she still looks attractive to me. All that said if DEI is pushed in games like other entertainment mediums then the market will speak and the games won't sell. So the question is not about Ciri necessarily but is the game going to be about a DEI preachy girl boss or will she be true to the character. If its the later give her a chance and I think it will be a great game. If the former the game deserves to fail.
they have so much to improve and are already giving up.
Think KCD is great, that being said i would never have played it beyond the first hour without the mod that allowed me to save when I wanted. I will watch for that in the next one as well. I have a tolerance for how much suffering i wish to take.
My hope is they learn to stop it with the lazy “procedurally generated” worlds
I just recently played Hogwarts Legacy and I think the same applies to that game as well. The base game is nothing special (though it is pretty good), but the nostalgia aspect just gives it a really nice feeling, like a cozy blanket when playing (or something like that). Also the atmosphere is really great, they really nailed that. Same with The Elder Scrolls for example. I played it years ago and although it is a bit outdated, it just gives a bit of a nostalgic feeling when playing it. When TES6 comes out, it doesn't matter much to me if the games is mediocre, I will buy it anyways because playing in that world will probably give me that nostalgic feeling. Or maybe a feeling of familiarity. Maybe people just generally don't like to step in the unknown and would rather pick something they have at least some knowledge of. I think nostalgia is a really powerfull tool and with the succes of these games, we will probably see it being used a lot more in the future. Maybe also because writing just isn't the strongest part of game studios, because most people don't care much about the story I think. Best to use an existing storybase, like you said.
I completed the game and loved it. I see ID tech has great potential for immersive single player semi open world environments and amazing graphics, hope this motivates them to create more such games. Do really wish it was in third person though. On a side note, I think the term 'writer' has been generalized a bit in this video. AVV's probably pointing to the weakness in narrative design. I believe writers are also involved in flushing out the world building and lore which is pretty good.
I haven't played the great circle nor do I think I will but I have heard good things about it. However I'm wondering how much of that is on Bethesda, I know they are involved to en extend but they didn't make the game they are the producers. Typically producers aren't really that involved in making the game, they have some say they can say yes or no to something but for example I wouldn't say that Bethesda made Doom 2016 even if their name is attached to it.
Yes exactly! It’s very little involvement but they did get involved with the writing which was a lot better than what I was I thinking! It’s good to see some older titles getting a good run out again!
@AVVGaming1 Fair enough, I hope that means they'll do a little better with tes 6. I don't need that great American novel from Bethesda but I do need something.
Great analysis mate, keep it up.
Thank you very much! Really glad you liked it!
Here my takeaway. Todd a salesman, emilie is his coke guy. Everything is great in Todd world because sales keep going up till starfield, a game made with so much Todd passion as it's the game Todd always wanted to make. Todd a little concerned by the sales not going up but emilie say "double down dumb it further down line go back up". The only takeaway is don't pre order, don't buy it on day one and if you are thinking of buying a new game from Bethesda go outside and get some fresh air and ask yourself would you buy a used car from these guys?
Emil is the guy getting high on his own supply, which creates an incestuous circle of worsening products.
Yeah shattered space to me was a massive issue. It was even more simplistic and the story now in their games isn’t even worth listening too. I think they need some outside help. I saw CDPR was hiring for writers the other day which shows they go looking for outside help!
Thanks mate. Great video. For me the magic was in the semi open world areas and the joy of exploration. No procedurally generated content, all the side quests and puzzles were very unique and engaging. I enjoyed doing all the side quests, artefact collection and puzzle solving as much as the main narrative. I think alot of open world designers could take note of that. Make more handcrafted content and make it with reverence for the source material that seems to be shown here
Thank you so much for the super chat! Means so much! I am in total agreement with you, I think it added so much depth. It was there if you wanted to explore, but you could also skip straight through it if you wanted to stick to the story. I always loved finding a key which unlocked a previous part of the map I wanted to find! I agree with the semi open world design as well and we’ve seen more games copy thst formula as time has gone by! It makes it less over whelming and I think I speak for a lot of gamers when I see quality over quantity. I’d rather have smaller maps which are hand crafted, with loads of things to find, rather than a procedural generated one which is barren. Thank you again so much!
From what I've heard and seen (I haven't played nor do I currently plan to play this game, just so you know that I might not have the full picture) the game's supposedly got worse AI than a lot of the recently released games where bad AI was an issue. I think what made it acceptable/not an issue in this case is that people don't look for AI that makes sense in a game like Indiana Jones the same way they might from a game that isn't from an already storied universe where things are silly. An example of this is how I've heard from several sources that the AI is almost refusing to use guns as long as you yourself stick to not using them either. If you use a whip to disarm a soldier they won't try and get their gun off of the ground to shoot you, as they'd seemingly rather partake in a fist fight. Enemies climbing stairs, one by one, only to be shoved down rather than having at least a few of them try and attack you with a weapon other than the few using rocks seems to also be a very common thing. It's basically like the enemies are doing their best to "act the part" of the bad guy while also behaving in a way that'll give you the opportunity to beat them, the way a martial arts movie can be unrealistic because if Everyone attacks at the same time the protagonist won't have enough limbs to fight them all off. I think that the difference in expectations and what people want out of their experience when it comes to an Indiana Jones game plays a large part in whether people are critical or let things slide.
Maybe people are just a bit 'blinded' by the nostalgia, which makes the playing experience just a little bit better and so the game can drop a bit of points here and there.
Yeah the AI in it is very basic but it’s because of the way the game is designed. It’s a game where you’re flying through it as a linear experience and not really paying attention too much about the AI as they are on a constant patrol or just sat down. An example would be like a guard and his dog patrolling a courtyard. It was very small but the two just paced from one end to the other. Non stop. It’s basically like old school game design where enemies have a specific route to follow and never leave it. It’s okay in this game because people are there for other reasons. I think the 9/10 it got is a very high score for it. It’s crazy because I played black myth wiling and thst blew my mind but ign gave it a 8/10 compared to indianas 9/10.
@AVVGaming1 Yeah, the standards they went by when scoring these games were in my opinion Quite different. The reason I'm mentioning the AI is not because what it does is simple, but because the things it's supposed to do (look for you while you sneak around as well as fight you once a confrontation occurs) is mediocre. I watched Luke Stephens show how he can almost walk right beside an npc without it noticing him because the AI won't detect him unless Indiana is in an angle that's at least partially in front of the npc. As far as I'm aware there's no way to increase/decrease the AI's intelligence when it comes to detecting you or fighting you in a more intelligent way, but I'd say this game could use something along those lines. I wouldn't want a game to do what Ubisoft's Star Wars game did (instant fail state stealth missions in an action/adventure game), but I'd say this Indiana Jones game at least deserves some sort of stealth system where you might actually feel like you did something well rather than "at least I didn't do the complete opposite of what was intended".
Use less homosexual workers and more of those who actualy can think and have fantasy. This is how you save your company and the next games you want to work on.
I finished this game about a week ago now. I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was!
@@SickySlay7 yes it’s really enjoyable right? Caught me by surprise too! We’ve had a decent year for games’
KCD had a 36.5 million budget. And it had 130 people working there at the end. Stop spreading wrong information. Intentionally or otherwise.
We all know what they did right and what they do wrong. It's all out in the open so why don't they. I don't get why.
Skyrim was a legendary game. I just finished a couple year playthrough on a heavily modded Skyrim build and I'm beginning another. If Bethesda wants another hit on par with Skyrim, it's pretty easy to do. They have to innovate and think outside the box. Innovation means new game mechanics no one has done before. Thinking outside the box means abandoning the preachy wok3 agenda and presenting a living, breathing world that is both a commentary on our reality as well as a melting pot and intersection of radically different ideas and worldviews. If that boring geezer Todd wants a win, he can consult me and I'll help point him in the right direction.
Oblivions UI is more polished for CONSOLES. Morrowind’s was the best on PC.
Warts and all, KC:D is the best game that I have ever played, full stop.
I’ll certainly be getting KCD 2
I know its good not to be treated as a kid when playing a game… but it is good to know where to find things .
We all know that if it were not for the Moders and their mods for Skyrim and the rest, this game would never have become so popular nor would it have lived on for so many years years as it has to this point and it will be the Moders and their love of the game that will continue to keep this game alive for future generations and not anything that Howard or Bethesda can or will ever do…!
I saw this coming after fallout 4, which for me took a dip i. Quality in was less of an rpg, and more of an action game.
It will be interesting to see what score the main critics give this compared to assasin's creed when they come out , got a feeling kcd will get a 6 or 7 and ac will get at least an 8 or 9 out of 10 . Even though even before they are even released we know it should be the other way around .
Bethesda/Zenimax. Historically my favorite game maker. They've put out some AMAZING games! But at the same time I hate their guts! HATE them! What kind of game maker goes 16 YEARS between releases of a popular game? How do they stay in business? And while the software they do release is extremely artful and engaging, it's also buggy AF! And the quests? They need to hire new script writers, because it's always cult this, cult that, go to such and such place and talk to so and so and then go to such and such place and talk to so-and-so, blah blah blah. And don't even think of releasing a new title if it's not in Unreal Engine or something equivalent. It's not 2011 anymore! Todd Howard should resign. Give the reins to someone that can actually run a software company.
11:50 ... because fans are Always disappointed. it has Been the Fans who fixed all of Bethesda's games thru mods. if Bethesda didn't release Broken games the fans would be less disappointed. changing their style or mode of building and coding the games isn't the problem as much as their lackluster effort to release a fully functional game 'AS Promised'.
i was with you until you went on that "games are too woke" rant at the end. completely unnecessary
ROTFLMAOROTFLMAOROTFLMAOROTFLMAOROTFLMAOROTFLMAO its a game folks aminated kens and barbies lolol
It will change nothing in gaming. Relax.
I don't think it'll rival GTA 6, that's going way to far, but it most certainly is the second most hyped game of the year
I played The Outer Worlds twice. I really liked the art design, I found some scenery breathtaking so I wanted to spend time in the game. I haven't played Starfield but I've seen a lot of reviews. I know it would bore me and feel like a chore. And I also despise the multiverse trope, I just feel it makes everything meaningless. Hard pass on this one.
This game was an easy pre order for me. Last time i pre order a game was in 2011. And i kept that rule to never pre order games after it. Well until KCD2 already placed my order on steam for the gold edition. Cant wait for the 4th of February to start playing.
