You did right by (accidentally) letting the lab develop your roll normally. This way, you were giving the film the extra stop of light expired film needs. If you had had the lab “pull” development, the processing and the extra stop would have cancelled each other out. Anyway, my $ 0.02. :-)

Have an f3 and wouldn’t even consider going backwards to save a couple hundred bucks. If you’re trying to be thrifty why even shoot film, it’s for those with expendable income.

Back in the 1970s, I was using a Nikon F2 SLR for photojournalism. For the times when I needed a low-cost expendable Nikon SLR for shooting in a hostile environment, I used a Nikon EM with Vivitar and/or Nikon Series E lenses.

The Color Film from Italy might be just re-batched Ferrania Solaris which was a budget film but might be something totally different. My fav 110 stock is Orca (if it has no pinholes in the backing paper). My favourite 110 camera is the Minolta 110 Zoom SLR Mk.2 which I prefer over the Pentax Auto 110

Hello. Dumb question, but maybe you see this and can help me. I tried out my camera when going a longer hike. One roll I shot in the square format. And the other in the half-frame format. But when processed, on the negative the half-frame didn't come out as two images per frame but one for each frame (just like the square-option). What am I wrong? Is it because I turned the knob after every shot, are you suppose to take two pictures before turning the winding the film for half-frame? :/

I love Polaroids and I have an old SX70 which does not work anymore. Instead buying an old stock SX70 and do modifications the most smart thing is to buy the new I2 which includes everything and more

I absolutely love 110, but it is not cheap for me lol. I'm in a small town in Canada, so I have to pay to ship out my film to be processed in Toronto as no where near me will process it. If that wasn't a factor, I'd shoot 110 always, but it's unfortunately just not as easy as 35mm for me. I agree that it's not for everyone as the grain and quality is quite low, but I personally enjoy it! I also agree that even with the small size and relatively cheap cameras, you can take some amazing photos with it. I'd say this film does best capturing architecture, landscapes, and group shots (so perfect for travelling in my opinion). I've actually brought my 110 into a concert recently and got some interesting photos, although they probably would have turned out better if I was closer to the stage lol. I use the Kodak 110 Star cameras, but I also have the Kodak Tele-Instamatic 608 and a Concord 110 (all of which I've thrifted for super cheap). If you can thrift your cameras and get the best possible deal on film, I'd say 110 is absolutely worth it and fun to use!

I have the Rolleiflex MX too! It was my first medium format film camera. I replaced my screen but honestly it’s still dim. Not as bad but I wonder if it has to do with the mirrors inside. But yea, I love my MX

Where can I find the wide angle lens? I'm looking but I'm not confident to buy one if I'm not 100% sure it's the correct one

The H35 is inspired by the old Instamatic from the 60s. Previously the Kodak Instamatic used the 126 cartridge in the 28x28mm square format which is no longer manufactured today. It's a good idea to restart the system, on the H35n the lens is glass and the image is a little better.

I find it helpful for inventory management only. Film, cameras, lenses, and filters. I see no value (for me) in recording all of that other data for each exposure. A good review. Thanks.

Y también me pasa que el botón inferior para soltar la película y rebobinar, se pulsa con nada, y el contador de frames se pone a 0 continuamente, por lo que nunca sé cuántas fotografías me quedan.

I just tried Flic Film's Chrome 100, and I thought it looks very good and professional. BUT I have distinct feeling that it's not the same emulsion as Ektachrome 100 (it's based on motion picture film after all). To my eyes, Chrome 100 seems to be a bit warmer and have greater exposure latitude (which can be nice in slide film). Has anyone noticed the same?

I love my three SQ6es, two of which (a red one and a blue one) are mounted together for easily taking stereoskopic pictures. I also nearly always use landscape mode, but rarely felt a necessity to darken or lighten the fotos. My silver one remains with me because my daughter (at the age of thirty) refused to accept it, she felt it was too complicated for her, she preferred the simpler SQ40. 🤣

You’re in Wolfeboro omg! I immediately recognized the docks at the start of the video. I went to BA and haven’t been back there in over 10 years. Seeing things around town like blacks after so many years is so cool, but seeing the hockey rink is especially wild. I spent a ton of time there in the winter of 2013 since I was managing one of the BA hockey teams. Super fun surprise to happen upon when looking for reviews of this film stock. Thanks 🙂

Great shots - Polacon looks like a blast!

The Holga GCFN won't have light leaks because the battery terminals plug the holes where light leaks occur in the 120N. In the top of the 120N inside the camera there is a 'bulkhead' that has 2 holes facing the top of the camera. These 2 holes need covered. As soon as those are covered, no more light leaks. The original Holga 120S also had these holes. I'm curious as to where you got your GCFN as it also has a hot shoe, which I've not yet seen.

I am so thankful that I live in Indianapolis and Roberts Camera(local camera shop) can process 110 film in house for only $10. I love the format and hope it makes a comeback for others to enjoy more affordably.

I picked up an 85B filter, so naturally, I'm wanting to use it everywhere. Have you shot any Candido with a warming filter since this video?

Really enjoyed coming along on your road trip. Great vid. I so want to visit Portland and Seattle now! I think some of your images demonstrate the frustration I have with this camera. I love it, but the hit rate of getting successfully sharp and nicely exposed images is just too low for me so I found myself using the Instax printer more. Course it's not quite as fun but I'm longing for Fuji to produce a Sq camera with a decent lens, then I would use a lot more instax film.

I shoot instax wide and find outdoor shots a challenge due to the limited dynamic range. My experience is that it has around 3 stops before highlights are blown out...

Apart from a few weird design choices (no lighten/darken for close up and infinity mode) this is absolutely the best analog Square format camera Fuji has made. I don't understand why they always dumb down their follow up releases. Look at the latest Wide camera: it can do less than the Instax 100 from 25 years ago!

Of all film stock, Monochrome has to be my go-to. I've used Ferrania P33 twice (tho' not developed it) Most of my D & P uses Ilford film & chemicals - HP4, FP4, Ortho. The 160 ISO is very good. Cameras, I have Nikon bodies: FM, FA, F3 & F4(S); lenses: 24, 28, 35 - all F2's AI-S'; 85 F1.4 AI-S, 105 F2.5 AI - non built-in hood, & two 50mm's - F1.2 & 1.4, respectively. Cannot say I am a fan of this film stock - it's very washed out - little in the way of vibrancy or saturation, & for the fiscal outlay, unjustifiable; however, I did like your compositions. In regard to the 'locals', they do come across as rather parochial. Remember, you need no excuse to (re)visit the UK or Republic Of Ireland - generally, we tend to be a warmer bunch. Straightforward, no-nonsense overview - thank you ! P.S. Who's the band playing the initial music ?

I own one of these but I just don't use it as much these days. I picked up an SQ20 hybrid, and now I don't have to scan my Instax anymore. I did a lot of side-by-side testing and the end result Instax frames are essentially identical.
