    Great stuff! And yeah, I thought the first couple of shots that have to be from ORWO/Invisocoat have that familiar colour palette. Also, yes, curling is a lot more fun to play than to watch. To be honest, I've been curling a few times!

      thanks Alex! and absolutely! oh cool, it was super fun :) I never really got the game and how many rules there were until that lesson so now watching it might be more interesting but yeah always more fun to play than watch!

    You’re in Wolfeboro omg! I immediately recognized the docks at the start of the video. I went to BA and haven’t been back there in over 10 years. Seeing things around town like blacks after so many years is so cool, but seeing the hockey rink is especially wild. I spent a ton of time there in the winter of 2013 since I was managing one of the BA hockey teams. Super fun surprise to happen upon when looking for reviews of this film stock. Thanks 🙂

    I find that lab scans can be hit and miss these days, often times really cranking the contrast and saturation resulting in a rather garish look. Or struggling with underexposed images.
    I've started asking for no colour correction when I drop off film for developing and processing, or just ask for developing only and scan at home.
    The rubber bands of shoes for curling is just so.. charming haha!

    • @Eclectachrome
      @Eclectachrome  5 месяцев назад

      hehe glad you like the bands! the league members had fancy shoes and all that! Yeah, that's a good way to do it and then you can correct yourself to how you like it.

    Does the film have a clear base? I used one of the rerolled Kodak aerocolor films -- clear base -- and the scans came out definitely a little off, The Darkroom lab didn't set their scanner for the clear base, so the scanner adjusted the colors thinking that the film had the much more common orangish base. Now these examples from your lab-scanned roll look good -- sharpness and grain, and the colors seem accurate, just washed out. A bit nostalgic (Hey Mom -- are these Uncle John's photos from our New England trip in 1978?")....

    • @Eclectachrome
      @Eclectachrome  5 месяцев назад +1

      It's got that greenish base! Yeah, I agree with you, could probably adjust them a little bit more...LOL not much has changed since then!!

    It ain’t Kodak or Fuji in color richness/saturation.
    Warmish but off a bit to my old eyes.

    I'm surprised that the circular pol did filter out so little blue! In Hamburg (in ye olden days...) where the weather is either wet, bad or rainy, you could turn it into Marseille with a circular Pol. Perhaps this is a case for a light skylight filter?

    • @Eclectachrome
      @Eclectachrome  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah it was a little odd that filter, the results looked funky...maybe it wasn't a great filter? Or it was one of those half ones and I turned it the wrong way ish? lol I don't think I'll use it again very much

      @@Eclectachrome In the 80s and 90s pol filters, especially circular ones, were the most expensive filters you could get! I also remember that they were graded in terms of the strength of the polarizing effect.

    !!! like the glasses btw ... nice shots could of been better with some LCD!! :D good low fi , unsaturated retro looking vibe / look .. really like what you do get someone from those shots ... could be 80/90s in some way ... the opposite of digital . which what I guess we are going for .... would be interesting to see what it could do with lenses with strong looks .. some of those messed up ones could still work ... especially the last one of the hut on the water ... strong retro fad to it .. timeless shot ..

    New Hampshire seems a pretty place. A bit cold though, it's going to hit 80f here today. Do you have a 1/3 stop ND filter? This film might like that better than the CPol. Thanks for your work. -a random mike

    • @Eclectachrome
      @Eclectachrome  5 месяцев назад +1

      80F!! Where are you?? I don't have one of those but thats a great idea though! Thanks random mike!

      @@Eclectachrome Memphis. A ND can help holding up the highlights letting the film burn in more of the scene with lower values. More of tricking the meter really so you don't want to go overboard. Have a great week.

    I must admit I was a little disappointed. I was expecting something more along the lines of Lomography's Turquoise and Purple films. Didn't seem particularly psychedelic.
